You guys are going to make me get Balatro? But then I only have Gedorce Now on a Surface Pro, so I would need a Steam Deck as well?
And also what is the best Bloodborne like game on PC?

Lies of P is really good.
Right, my 4th go at Doom Eternal. This time there is official mod support, which is nice. Also - and this is entirely on me - I realised my HDR settings were appalling and now that I've fixed them I'm a lot happier with the way the game looks.

I think Eternal is a much better game, but I think I'm in the minority on that.
So far, 2016 feels so...basic. It's a good game and I'm enjoying it, but Eternal (on the higher difficulties anyway) had a constant intensity that I absoutely loved. The movement in general also feels much better in Eternal, pretty worried they're making you feel much "heavier" in the next one...
Eternal is a way better game, IMO. But that’s because it might be the greatest FPS of all-time.
It’s actually become a litmus test at this point. If someone doesn’t like Eternal that’s a big flag innit.

Playing Black Mesa and Eternal back to back was like FPS nirvana or something, idk. It was was just a truly great experience.
I loved Eternal. I loved the marauder fights. Great movements, levels, guns. Jumping around the arena like a lunatic while quick swapping between different guns and tagging weak points mid air. Cummy.
Still haven’t played the DLC for it though.

Yeah I don't so much mind them giving me lots of options with all these abilities and mods, but making it almost a skill-gating requirement to juggle them all proficiently isn't exactly my favourite way to play a game. Still, I knew what I was getting into.

Embrace it.
I remember not liking Eternal's dlc at all. Maybe I wasn't in the mood for more Doom at the time

That story trailer was much better.
Also, for a bit of fun, an additional 90s filter toggle is included in the remake's menus to change its colour grading to more closely match the fade of the PS2 original's - if you're that way inclined.
By s y brev Go To PostTrailer was pretty good, never played the OG and it's got me interested.
27m of gameplay

that framerate tho ewww brother ewwww
Console version innit.
On booting the game there were two graphics modes on PS5: a 30fps quality mode, and a performance mode that targets 60fps. Dynamic resolution appears to be used more aggressively for the latter, but I happily stuck with the 60fps option, which ran Silent Hill's south vale region and later Wood Side Apartment block smoothly. The only problem spot was an early graveyard area - with its obvious sub-60 drops in the build shown - but that might improve by release.
Speaking with the team at Bloober directly, it's also confirmed that both modes use Unreal Engine 5's Lumen technology on PS5 - enhancing its reflections with a software-based approximation of ray tracing. The result being that the rain-slicked streets reflect every shop sign crisply, even if they're out of your camera's view (a problem for the SSR method, which is still used as a fallback behind Lumen here). Added to this the team confirms that Lumen is also used for ambient occlusion, albeit only on the 30fps quality mode. Also, for a bit of fun, an additional 90s filter toggle is included in the remake's menus to change its colour grading to more closely match the fade of the PS2 original's - if you're that way inclined.

i will pirate it.
Nice, just in time for my vacation, which I will spend doing something other than playing FF16.
I will probably play it.

By Laboured Go To Post£50. Nice one, SE.
50 too much
But might be worth a 10er on sale if it can run at +60fps, without dropping to 480p or whatever it was on ps5 performances mode.

Does FF16 still have your endorsement
By DY_nasty Go To Postff16 is great when its greatJust sad it only wants to be great 20-30% of the time
Spent an hour with the demo to see how it runs:
- 4k @ 100-140fps is quite easily achieved with a 4080-class card, all settings maxed out, DLSS quality + FG
- game/action feels super responsive with nvidia reflex + boost even with FG
- no ultrawide support (a mod will be available day 1, I assume)
- going from high refresh gameplay to 30fps cutscenes is a bit jarring, but at least the video quality is pretty good; I can see why it's 170gb
- native HDR support is in, no granular HDR settings in the demo at least
Looks to be your average SE port, nothing too special in terms of PC features, but it runs well.
