Think fixing the mouths and teeth on smiles and grimaces would be where they can make the biggest imprivement personally. That was where the original game most often didn't look right. Can't really see if they've been able to do anything there from the comparison trailer, not sure if it's even possible when using the same performance captures.
edit: I don't remember Mike's running animation being so goofy

By WoodenLung Go To Postit says new motion captures in the trailer? That won't include faces though will it?
Nor sure how they did it in the original game, I assume a lot of it was simultaneous face and body capture for the bits where you have no control at least. Either way they avoided the LA Noire thing of the highly detailed faces being planted onto androids

i thought so... but no idea really.
Looks better than it did at the PS State of Play earlier this year at least. Somehow looked like a downgrade
By Laboured Go To PostI am tempted. I couldn't quite get into World but I'm willing to give it another shot.World was unique compared to all other mainline MH games. Rise is more like a "normal" MH game. I don't know if Wilds is going to be something unique ala World or just an improvement on what came before like Rise.
I think my main problem with World was the MP system was horrendous as I just wanted to play missions with my wife and it just kept fucking up. Also performance on PC was p bad on launch.
what do you mean horrendous, you only have to solve a few riddles, pray at the altar and give up your first born to play a hunt together.

Also performance on PC was p bad on launch.Ahh, yeah, the other games are a little better about that, iirc, but it is still obtuse. You create a private hunting group or whatever it is, make sure you are both in it, and then one player joins the other. It is basically like having a private room setup all the time without having to go through the process of setting up a private room each game session.

I got Watchdogs 2 for free via EGS and it wouldn’t let me link my Ubisoft account to it, so I could never play it.
Other than that, a few free games from the early days. I’ve bought one game. Corruption 2029. It was firmly just okay.

i'm playing rdr2 for the first time. feels like i'm in a western. the atmosphere and the world are great. it truly feels like an actual living world, more so than any other gta game i've played.
the mission structure is still very limited, though just like with any other gta title; there seems to be very little freedom within a mission. hope they improve on that in vi. and the controls are... not very good.
twenty years ago, i would've loved to explore every nook and cranny in this world. find out for myself about all the weird little details i've seen in countless youtube videos. but i just don't feel like doing that anymore. i don't want to spend 100 hours of my life exploring this world. i just want to do the storyline missions and the occasional side quest. anyone else feel the same way?

It's simply the best open world ever created, and the ultimate cowboy sim. 100 hours are not nearly enough to fully explore the world of RDR2 anyway, but as far as Arthur's story goes, it's one of the best things Rockstar has ever done.
But yes, the mission design is often very on rails and "cinematic" with no room for improv or creative solving, but there are tons of side activities, free roam fun and things to discover. There is some creepy serial killer sidestory that I couldn't figure out in 200hrs+. Some secret cult stuff that only happens under very specific circumstances at a certain time of day. I did all the hunting and crafting challenges, but still couldn't find all the treasure map locations either.
The world continues to change as the game goes on (places get populated/abandoned, railway lines get built, people move, die, etc.). It's a masterful living world.

What Act 3 in BG3 gains in density, it more than loses in environmental variety imo. So far, anyway.
Especially since it has a bit of DD2 going on, where there are a shitload of NPCs you can talk to who don't really offer anything. It's nice that they all give a bit of flavour to the city, but I'm at the point where I just want to do as many quests as I can before hitting the home stretch. Close to reaching max level, wonder if they considered making 12 the last level for skills and spells, but letting you level up more for basic stat boosts.
Been using Gale and Wyll a bit more, their damage is mental. Wish I had the brain to synergise spells and gear, can see that if you do that with AoE and anti-mobility spells you could quite easily finish fights before the enemies even get the chance to attack.
Think it has probably the best core cast of characters since ME2.
