I knew Death Stranding was going to be weird but nothing could prepare me for how fucking weird.
I like the gameplay though, just can’t get on board with the characters and cutscenes. It’s all extremely bizarre.

obscene concepts and absurd characters and it's all funny because Kojima takes it so seriously

Watching cs2 getting dripfed SHIT updates (as performance plummets for no discernable reason) while they make this game that is so obviously going to fucking bomb is very annoying.
By DiPro Go To Postare people actually angry that the verge posted that valve game footage? There's definitely not a cult around valve, not at all

We gonna act like it’s just Valve?
Cuz I’m old enough to remember gamers losing their shit over the ethics of video game media for covering leaks like Insomniac’s Wolverine among many other things
The secretive culture around games is so stupid
Reveal and leak everything
What the hell is From doing somebody hack them I have to know

probably a third person action roleplaying game with checkpoints where you lose all your progress if you die
also maybe a roll button and some sort of healing flask that is replenished at said checkpoints

wait anyone in here angry about the leak? i do remember ree being upset about vgx leaks, and wanting to ban it (lol), but ... they are a special case.
i am at most annoyed it looks shit.

I was so angry at the Insomniac leak that I learnt how to use Tor so I can see all the files myself.
Feeling the sudden urge to play Max Payne 3.
I remember giving it a couple of hours at the time and not liking it. I'm on a story driven mindless action kick and MP3 came to mind, I don't know.
Another one of those 5€ games you can't really regret buying.

Oh man, forgot all about that bullshit and now it's all coming back. Urge subsiding, considerably. This is why it's smart to announce your intentions.
Maybe I'll just fuck around with the Black Myth: Wukong benchmark and play some Apex for today.

I'd rather see reveals in the way that the devs intend, just find it more exciting that way than reading a tweet about leaks
Beta discussions are much of a muchness though

MP3 aped Man on Fire so hard, it was kind of amazing they didnt just make a licensed game.
Fucking Valve abandoned Underlords so fast 😭
The worst part is that they had made a patch called The Jail system (an automatic weekly rotation of units) which fixed the problem of having to manually patch them in and out, but people hated it for some reason. So, they reverted it and ripped out like one third of the content, THEN abandoned the game.
Like, they couldn't even patch back in the system that had all the content so people could at least keep playing the game.

It'll earn a license to complain about it
Tried out the Wukong benchmark, and for fun I tried to put it on medium with FSR just to see how it would look like as a possible PS5 port.
Instantly reminded how shit FSR is with tiny details.

Non-lethal runs in stealth games are anti-fun. Why give the player a plethora of lethal weapon options then penalise them for using the toys provided? It’s nonsensical.

I never enjoy stealth or stalking AIs
It was only remotely fun in Splinter Cell, but even that could be purely nostalgia.

Too many games where stealth is just an afterthought. If it's just as easy to shoot your way through, going stealth is usually a bit meh. Although there is exceptions like tlou where both ways feel good, but both are also needed there at different points.
But mgs, Hitman, splinter cell, dishonored and the original manhunt... Give me more of that. Love the tension of barely getting by... And not so much trying to brute force myself through.
Planning out stuff in Hitman to make it look accidental and not be caught by anyone.. So good. One of the most satisfying things playing vidya for me.

Idk I feel like games with optional stealth play up it being optional but if you don't use stealth the voice over screams at you and you fail all bonus objectives and you're a dumb idiot
But play it your way
But play it your way
By C4-621 Go To PostWe have to protect VapesI have completely abstained from playing Balatro because if it’s as good as people say, I’ll be stuck playing it for 10 years minimum.

You can ghost/non-lethal your way to the target and then kill the target in multiple entertaining ways.

MGSV:TPP gives you a ridiculous amount of lethal tools to get through a mission. All different rifles, machine guns, launchers, grenades, air strikes, buddy abilities etc. but actively penalises you for using them via the rating system and unlocks tied to it.
It’s a trap a lot of stealth games fall into.
By WoodenLung Go To PostAlthough there is exceptions like tlou where both ways feel good, but both are also needed there at different points.I think being able to re-enter stealth after alerting enemies but never making the NPCs regress back to pre-alert level awareness and having varying levels of alertness(cautious, aggressive searching etc) is a significant part of why tlou2 does it so well.
Other games not implementing this well is a big reason why optional stealth feels like a wast of time(ghost of tsushima).
Attractive adults are also less likely than others to spend any time gaming; and if they do, they spend less time on it than less attractive adults. Using the longitudinal nature of the Add Health Study, we find supportive evidence that these relationships are causal for adults: good looks decrease gaming time, not vice-versa.
