By KimoSan Go To PostSo Days Gone is apparently a long ass game. I'm plugging away at it, but Jesus, they keep adding characters and opening more and more of the map up. It just keeps going. It has gotten more interesting than I initially was willing to give it credit for though, so that's a plus. It also really is visually impressive at times.Yeah, shit is really long. It's flawed but there are the occasional moments where the whole thing clicks and feels pretty great.
By inky Go To PostI reinstalled Dragon Age 2… because the only thing I hate more than bad Bioware games is myself. It's not a bad game. Should've never been called Dragon Age 2 though
I didn't play it at the time but the vibe I got was that they took a sprawling RPG and made it into a genre equivalent corridor shooter.

I’ve lived in the NW my entire life yet I wasn’t northern enough for the first question the game asks. Felt like that reviewer who couldn’t get past the Cuphead tutorial.
I forget, who's our resident controller modder? Vapes?

Just be mindful when you tighten up any screws. That type of plastic is generally more prone to cracking.

By Lego Go To PostI didn't play it at the time but the vibe I got was that they took a sprawling RPG and made it into a genre equivalent corridor shooter. Not far off but probably more accurate to what they did to Mass Effect tho. DA: Origins was referencing the vast, old CRPGs, but DA2's much narrower scope wasn't really its main issue. It was one of its few strengths; a big faction and politically focused world-building over a longer (in-game) period of time.
Am I close?
The real main issue of the game is that it was a hastily put together package, and why I would argue it turned out a bad, or below average game. Every aspect of the game suffered as a result; just too many things came out undercooked. Calling it 2 created expectations it couldn't meet, for sure. But mechanically, it was such a stripped down revision, with some very half assed action elements which added nothing other than a bullet-point they could throw at general audiences who used to recoil at the term RPG. It eliminated the use for equipment, it destroyed encounter design and any kind of strategic approach rendering gameplay a chore.
It also couldn't strike the balance that DA:O had achieved in terms of tone, memorable companions and narrative. Origins was, let's be clear, edgy and tryhard tolkienesque/forgotten realms fantasy. But it was good at that. DA2 tried to bring it forward, tried to be more serious and more specific with its factions and how they related to each other, but somehow it ended up being also more immature and discordant, with worse written and underdeveloped characters.
In the end, the game also suffered from what has been plaguing Bioware since those days. Their utmost need to appeal to everyone at all costs. I really can't temper my Bioware cynicism around that because I remember how it was with them at the time.

nice. on a bit of an off topic note, i watched some video on the epic being upsetti with valve, and the court documents said they in 2021 had 336 people working there. that is both admin, games, hardware and steam. thought there would be more, despite the lack of good CS updates. +overpass when. but it does also make it pretty funny to read bungie had like 1350 working for them.

By s y brev Go To Posthow does my ps5 turn on when i press the ps button on my controller even when the ps5 is offbecause the ps5 isn't fully off. if you attach it to a killawatt, you'll see that it is still drawing power to do exactly that feature. it basically has three power modes: on, sleep, deep sleep
By Kibner Go To Postbecause the ps5 isn't fully off. if you attach it to a killawatt, you'll see that it is still drawing power to do exactly that feature. it basically has three power modes: on, sleep, deep sleepthx. so the ps5 is never off unless it is unplugged? Im assuming the same goes for TVs and other electronics operable via remotes?
I’m not 100, but I think that would be correct with newer TV’s that have chips in them. Anything with a chip that’s controlled
Honestly. Even lighting does this now. An LED light in the house never goes fully off it just dims to 100%. At least the halo home fixtures I installed. You have to turn power off at the breaker to work on them.

Just about every electronic device will still pull power unless you physically unplug it or the power switch completely disconnects the circuit. That's why some people have switched to using Advanced Power Switches (APS) and sometimes pair them with a timer to schedule their electronics turning fully off at night or while they are at work or something. It can save you hundreds of dollars in energy costs every year.

California has a thing called title 24 that makes commercial places do this to outlets. Half of an individual outlet is controlled by a relay that shuts off when the occupancy sensor doesn’t detect movement.

played the trial for baldurs gate 3 and I got off the spaceship. I think it is just too overwhelming for me but if i see it on sale for $30 id buy
The ship is just.... it's basically the same as DC Universe's intro man lol. It's almost by the letters identical in how you go from Character Creation to escaping Braniac's invading fleet then suddenly beating up small time robbers in Metropolis as you work your way back up.
By DiPro Go To PostwatGrubb mispoke, both resigned due to the restructuring, although it's equally as devastating for Bungie.
Standalone DLC doesn't count (no Destiny), so this is the bundle.

Damn Kingdom Hearts what lol
Kingdom hearts went from being an epic exclusive (for like 3 years) to being on steam.
I think Tim Sweeney might cry seeing those charts.
