SS2R is probably years out. I'm just glad the license went to Nightdive and isn't being held hostage in some burocratic hell.
I want to play Metal Gear Solid V right now but the thought of playing that long hospital section, crawling through the halls at the start is putting me off.

100% Ground Zeroes then reevaluate whether you truly want to play TPP.
Sounds like a plan š I've been watching Metal Gear Scanlon since Giant Bomb put it all on YouTube
For all three resident gamepass subscribers, you should really play Lonely Mountains if you havenāt already.
I played it a while ago, but re-downloaded it today and started doing some of the challenges. Frankly, itās a perfect game. Chilled, fun, great art style. Thereās a lot to like about it.

about 10 hours into nier automata, deck really making me play all these older games is great.
i... like it quite a bit.
one thing that really sucked, was getting stuck on a boss battle with like no recovery items though.

Tons of chill games on the service. Currently playing Botany Manor. I dismissed it at first as it looked kinda dull and unattractive, but I'm enjoying the vibe and the puzzles.

it is a good game.
who cares if it is overrated by some? it's not like it is big enough to push out other games worthy of the spotlight.

SS2 is (even) more of a horror game and definitely a better rpg, with better storytelling and considerably less clank. It came out 6 years after SS1, by which time fps games had gained many of today's standard features. SS1R implemented a lot of those comforts already, admittedly.
It also represented a big jump in visual quality, which is something that will probably be lost, if Nightdive stick to the same engine and style or rather budget. I'm all for them keeping it sustainable and the game will be great regardless, but at the same time ... imagine a SS2 remake with big money.
Shodan have mercy.

Telltale Walking Dead Michonne was a disgrace. I was actually siding with the antagonist the entire time. Thankfully all three episodes were very short.
I've installed Call of Duty 4 and Days Gone, so those are next.

By data Go To PostArc should make a sequel to thisIf they ever release an EX VS game on PC, I trust you will join me in it?
Imagine 2v2 Virtual On, but with Gundam. It rules.
It can also be incredibly fast and supremely punishing if you go up against people with any kind of experience because it depends so much on movement tech for both offense and defense and button mashing hardly ever results in anything but useless flailing.

It's just the same issue I have with fighting games which is the time investment to feel like you're even remotely competent if you don't have a circle of people of your skill level
I was in the mood to play a couple of Darkest Dungeon runs

Finished Nobody Wants To Die. Game looks and sounds incredible considering it's a debut title from a small polish studio.
I think many will find the blend of cinema noir and futurism a take it or leave it aesthetic proposition, but the game definitely puts in the work to pull you into its world and I was hooked almost immediately. There are some truly spectacular city environments in this, especially if you can afford to crank UE5's lumen and all the other settings up to epic. My only complaint are the character models - passable to be sure, but they do stand out.
If you've seen the trailers, well, that's mostly what you do. Get to a crime scene, take out your clue detector, time manipulator or whatever the crime scene reconstruction gizmo is called and start analyzing the space you're in. It's usually quite the lengthy process and it's actually done really well, but it does get rather repetitive after the first couple of hours (out of about five in total). As is often the case, the main attraction aren't so much the mechanics of your detective work as is the story of the crime(s) that unfolds as you progress in a particular scene.
I dug the Altered Carbon-ass cynical tale, a lot of the hardboiled writing and most of the voice acting ... however the whole thing isn't as quite as polished and focused as it could've been. There are a few confusing narrative transitions and some weirdness in the dialogs between the protagonist and his remote female assistant that make it feel like something was lost in translation. I also thought that the game's version of Alan Wake 2's clue board wasn't a particularly interesting addition, but it does serve to break up the aforementioned scene combing, so there's that.
All in all I had a really good time with it. Hopefully the game does well 'cause I'd love to see what these guys cook up in the future.

By blackace Go To PostAnyone playing EA College Football?yeah i am absolutely loving it on-field even despite many obvious flaws. it's been fun sharing stories w/ my friends about it.
Dynasty mode is crack.
im in Year 3 of my UNC dynasty. Year 1 was rough I benched my statue QB for a mobile QB and just rode my overpowered RB but we finished like 6-7. team was just real bad much like I expect them to be in real life. speed at WR was my priority in recruiting. if you got less than 95 speed you cant play for me.
Year 2 I made the CFP as the top seed after steamrolling Clemson in the ACC Championship and boy my team was not ready for the bright lights. i've never had my line blown up in a football game like the shit Michigan was doing. the few times i could get passes off my receivers decided to have the yips and drop passes left and right. kept it close but could never get over the hump and lost 24-17. Michigan ended up losing in the final to Oregon.
Year 3 we were clearly still shook from the Michigan game. On top of that the game decided to have me open @Clemson. I got down like 28 in the first half playing to reckless to make up for my struggling defense and simmed the rest. Then I had to go to A&M the very next week. I thought I could deal w/ it so I didn't manually edit the schedule in pre-season. lost on the last drive but they played much better than in week 1. I had plays I couldnt even setup hot routes or send guys in motion like I wanted because of the crowd factor. Back on track now headed for a rematch w/ Clemson again in the ACC Championship and then to the CFP but I might save that for Wednesday night since that's one of my off days from training. my offense looking like the Tua Bama years w/ 99 Speed everywhere. defense looking like the era of Bama before Saban accepted that you had to score points to win. gotta win the natty this year because my 3 year starter QB is gone after this one.

there's lots of little QoL stuff they could patch especially in how some of the menus work and the sim quality.

I would be on year 2 but I decided I didn't want that SEC heat weekly and I blew it recruiting so started over as Cal in the ACC, which is much more relaxing in general.
Recruiting going ok, snagged 3 4 stars and 2 3 stars thus far. Missed out on a 5 star because the Canes beat me when he was visiting my school.
My JR RB is nuts we played two scrub teams at the start of season which gave him god stats but now he can't finish games š
As for the patch stuff. Menus are a bitch to implement, I kinda doubt they will bother but maybe.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostWhat do you think of the Bioshock games? I bought the remastered set on Xbox a few weeks ago and eager to play them, though I suspect theyāre only superficially borrowing from SS.SS2's lead writer and designer is Ken Levine, who went on to do Bioshock, so the latter's borrowing goes considerably deeper, heh.
It is very much its own brilliant game, though. It has arguably one of the best settings and some of the best world building in videogames ever. It has a way more pronounced philosophical core compared to the SS games and it's not shy about its ideas, which as you can imagine didn't sit well with some people. Or doesn't these days anyway. I hope you love/hate Ayn Rand.
It's also considerably more direct and action-y than SS1/2 and offers tons of combat options, which might also be a negative, if you're not into it.
And that intro. Iconic.
Bioshock 2 is more of the same, some consider it a better game, which it might be, but it wasn't nearly as impactful as BS1 for me. Levine finally went too far up his own ass with Infinite. The combat, which is based on battle arenas, isn't very good. However, there's still a lot to like (or, again, hate) in terms of its lofty setting, story and the philosophical musings that permeate the (over)extended narrative experience.
