By Laboured Go To PostFun concept where you practice the fights over and over but if you fail the real fight it's fully game over.
By data Go To Postthis is either year of wooden or year of dy im not sure whichI made it 10 seconds before throwing money at the screen
By Laboured Go To Postblackace, please leave our sacred cows alone.I can respect that

Beautiful music and art. Everybody in this game is dancing all the time
I played the demo and while I can see the vision, the execution is lacking. The action combat is simple but options and unlocks in the demo are limited. The tactical side seems to be the focus but there are some bizarre design decisions on that end as well. Not being able to select a unit in command mode being the most baffling. Having to cycle through all units while looking at the minimap to see which one is being selected makes responding to threats a clunky and frustrating experience.
On the other hand the game is bursting with style. The character designs immediately impress with intricate and ornate designs that define the outfits, masks, weapons and accessories that drape the protagonist and NPCs. Almost as impressive are the animations, the protagonist attacks, dodges and navigates elegantly across the field. This goes for the particle effects, NPCs cutscenes, enemies and anything else that moves. Everything comes together on the audio/visual side to reinforce the idea of ritually purifying cursed lands. This is easily the best looking Capcom title since Okami. If this was 2006, I wouldn't be surprised if this were developed by Clover Studio.

College football is pretty good. A few weird quarks but overall probably the best sports ball game in some time.

By data Go To PostDid anyone play the Gundam breaker test? I accidentally fell asleepIt’s on all day today.
By data Go To PostI got Art Of Fighting when I was a kid. My uncle worked as a lawyer for the Portuguese workers on the US Air Base and he had access to the US stores on the base.
He gave me Art Of Fighting for my birthday but back then we didn't know that region block was a thing so obviously the cart didn't work on my Mega Drive.
So I had no alternative than look at the box and imagine how cool the game would be.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostWhat did people think of Tales of Arise? Might play. It's great for about 8-10 hours then you realize that's all they had. Imo the worst modern tales game
i wrote up a longer post back when the game released. but like.... they reworked the items/healing system so that every fight and dungeon becomes attrition based. in a series where bosses and enemies are KNOWN for throwing screen saturating unblockables, that's definitely a choice. it can work in a game like persona/smt, definitely not tales without making substantial changes in and out of battles. they locked portions character skill trees behind a paywall as well.
at the halfway point, you'll notice many enemies who need a certain guardbreak or ability to stagger them - each largely independent to specific party members. this is when you realize that many mechanics require you to basically have characters not using abilities until there's an opportunity to use them manually. otherwise you're doing fuck all to enemies while waiting for cooldowns. hyper armor every where.
the party is actually worse than tales of graces too (shield girl is very okay). story is ass. enemy palette swap happens mad early lol. easily the worst dungeon design since 3d tales became a thing.
the moves are really, really flashy. fishing was the best part of the game./10

By Perfect Blue Go To PostJust completed System Shock (2023). Fuck me what a game. When is the remake of 2 coming? No one knows. Nightdive has like 50 projects going at once rn
By Perfect Blue Go To PostJust completed System Shock (2023). Fuck me what a game. When is the remake of 2 coming?Remake was indeed brilliant, but it's hard to describe how groundbreaking this shit was at release. I'm still sad we lost Looking Glass Studios.
SS2R is probably years out. I'm just glad the license went to Nightdive and isn't being held hostage in some burocratic hell.
By data Go To PostMy impressions of Gundam breaker 4 are that if that thing runs well on the deck it's gonna be crackIt has a switch port, so I assume it will run well on deck.
