It's good to be back. Time to clean up the optional super bosses and then I have to finish my Dragon Quest run

By Laboured Go To PostI buy like 90% physical games for my 5
Wait people actually thought Sony were going to stop making physical games?
I buy pretty much every new game on disc when that's an option since PSN preorder prices are a piss-take. Got Astro Bot from thegamecollection which comes to about £50 with the reward points, not great but better than £60 digital innit

By Perfect Blue Go To PostSame here. Probably even higher I can’t remember when I last bought a digital game.I buy stuff I can't get here. Like NCAA for example. I still might get a disc of that but I kinda don't want to wait tho
Glad I've outgrown my collector tendencies. Wasted so much money keeping games I was never going to play again, and buying special editions for extra material I didn't care for.
Only own five games on disc now, and two of those are because I was sent copies from Saudi Arabia and Australia so CEX won't take them

Just finished main story of AC: Odyssey. We stan our bi queen Kassandra but I probably prefer Origins, for the main story arc. Will probably hold off playing Valhalla until the winter.
Odyssey's DLCs are bad, if you're considering them. Lots of hours but they drag on, and the stories are terrible (first one specially). The second one leans more into fantasy territory if you enjoyed that.
Valhalla is the one I'd played the most before starting this journey. I played a couple of hours when it was available on PS Plus before it got taken off and I liked what I'd played.
Just imagine what you've already played, but 700 more times.
You have now completed Assassin's Creed: Valhalla.

With the release of Title Update 4, all planned Exoprimal seasonal content has been finished.
After Season 4, which concludes on July 11th, Season 1 will return. From there, a new season will begin on the first of each month.
In addition, Season Passes 1-3 will be available for sale again. This will allow players to obtain items from all seasons.
* All online services will continue to be available.
This game had a bigger budget than Monster Hunter Wilds btw
By DiPro Go To Postto this day i have no clue what GTA online is or what you do in it.Well, there's free roam; that's basically the open world with the usual reactivity. Then on plenty of locations you can enter missions which are more structured and have story content, you can do races, heists, etc. You earn money for new cars, houses, guns, etc. and build up your character, but other players can grief you and steal your shit too. That's pretty much it.
On PC there's a mod that basically turns it into a role-playing server with proximity chat, so people RP stuff like police officer, paramedic... and make their own fun I guess.

The game is honestly overwhelming with how much content they've added over the years. I hadn't played since about 2019, but I recently checked out as much of the PVE as I could handle just to see the Dr. Dre missions and the island and the Casino heist stuff. It's all pretty fun if you know what you're doing.
Spent the night playing and finishing Still Wakes The Dean. Pretty good, would recommend. Cthulhu and The Thing vibes all over this.
The voice acting carries it. Scottish really ought to be the default english accent / language. Leccy.

Just 100% finished Deadly Premonition (PC version on Steam Deck)
In many ways, it’s one of the worst video games I’ve ever played. It’s terribly optimised, buggy (the PC port is awful) and has pathetically easy combat sequences. But, in many ways, it’s also one of the best in terms of story and characters.
You see, Deadly Premontion is a straight up rip-off of Twin Peaks and I really vibed with that. The strange, off-kilter soundtrack that doesn’t match tonally with what’s going on in a cutscene. The hilariously bad dialogue that has grammatical errors and spellings all over the game.
Yet, there’s something oddly charming and lovely about York and the other NPCs you meet throughout the game. The town of Greenvale has a dark history and York (who is one of the most interesting protagonists I have played as) has a very bizarre take on it and the people he meets.
The story was also really interesting and gripping. I had no idea where it was going which was great :lol
Would recommend if you like a excellent murder mystery with interesting characters, would not recommend if you value good gameplay lol
It’s only 99p on Steam atm! Well worth it if you can look past the awful (and they really are AWFUL) shooting mechanics. It’s a very charming game

Can’t even blame them. Why spend 1-2 years or dev time on a single player expansion of the majority or players are only interested in playing the online mode?
I’m surprised GTAVI isn’t purely an online game.
Fucking awful though, GTA online. Could never get into it.

By BrentMused Go To PostAnyone else hardly ever play expansions, even when they're for games you really like?Honestly can't remember the last DLC I played
IDK, I kinda love expansions.
CDPR expansions are very much worth playing, and probably even better than the main game; in both The Witcher and Cyberpunk. Same for Beth expansions going back to Oblivion and Fallout 3 era. New Vegas has some of the best expansion content in the history of videogames. Mass Effect 1's Bring Down the Sky was more of a mission DLC size thing, but ME 2's Shadow Broker and Overlord definitely count as expansion imo, and are the best part of that game.
Dragon Age Origins had excellent expansion content too. (on top of too much filler DLC as well). Prey Mooncrash was great. I played and enjoyed RDR's Undead Nightmare, although the concept was better than the execution. I played Lost and the Damned, and many would argue Ballad of Gay Tony is much better than base GTA IV. Safe to say I would've loved and played the shit out of single player expansions for both GTA V and RDR2.
Some notable expansions I haven't played: Dragon Age Inquisition: Trespasser (just can't enjoy this game), Outer Wilds Expansion (don't even know what it's called, and I loved the game). I can't buy Shadow of the Erdtree right now, but I'm sure I'll get to it in a year or two.

Amazing
I still need to play the Cyberpunk expansion.
If the game is good, and the DLC isn’t half assed. I’ll play it. The Witcher 3’s Hearts of Stone is my personal favourite expansion. All time GOAT.
There’s a lot I’ve missed out on though. Never played the DLC for Dark Souls 2, 3 or Bloodborne. Only got round to Fallout 4’s Far Harbor earlier this year.
I found Iki Island far more fun than the main game of Ghost of Tsushima too.

Bloodborne's expansion is unbelievable. Essential ngl
I think that was the case for me with Cyberpunk. I really liked it but I guess not enough to buy an expansion.
Edit: what the fuck is that name

Outer Wilds is one of the goats and I have no interest in Echoes of the Eye
There might be some that I've played that were integrated into later editions of games, that's how I ended up playing Lair of the Shadow Broker iirc. Feel like Half Life:Opposing Force doesn't get the credit it deserves, can't remember if that was standalone though.
