By turkey bacon Go To PostF4 was fine, but Starfield did not exactly inspire much confidence. There's definitely something wrong in the direction department at BGS. Game design is a good five years behind the curve.
An Obsidian Fallout is a pipe dream and I don't expect them to work wonders, but we'd get a good RP'ing experience out of it.
I liked Starfield too. Not great, not as interesting of a setting as Fallout or TES. It had some of the absolute best quests and scripting of any Bethesda game though. Space combat was fun, ship building was novel, combat was improved, the levelling system was tailored more towards being good at a few things rather than being a Jack of all trades.
Main quest was pretty weak but I liked how they tied NG+ into the narrative, conceptually at least. The execution could have been better. Biggest drawback was just the complete lack of sandbox exploration, which is historically the one thing Bethesda is genuinely very good at.
They at least learned from past mistakes, voiced protagonists, skill checks, etc.
7/10 overall.
In Todd, we trust.
Don't really want Bethesda or Obsidian to make the next Fallout
Not sure if there's anyone out there who can do 3/NV but better which is what I want, but the guys behind Starfield and The Outer Worlds ain't that.

Curious what Larian will do since it’s been confirmed it won’t be Baldur’s Gate again. I feel like they got enough good press they can do anything but I would be lying if I said I would mind another Divinity.
Fists in Ronin are dope. I hope there isnt just one combat style tho :(
They definitely should have included Tonfas. Nioh 2 Tonfas might be one of the best feeling weapons in any videogame ever.

I really hope they make a new IP if they are going solo because the Divinity universe feels kinda washed to me.
By data Go To PostAnything but star wars 🙏I'd take a Star Wars joint if they could write original content like KotOR

It's not but it's not great either.
Larian is doing 2 projects no ?
Probably one new IP and another Divinity to close out the trilogy.

By blackace Go To PostI get it but it's still bizarre.Yeah, but you don't need to release quality to be successfull.
Star Wars has been doing that for 25 years.
did some dirty bird glitching to level 75 because otherwise i wouldn't be leveled enough in time for the dlc.

"I think it was the old ex-president of Nintendo, Iwata-san, who said that 'people who are afraid of losing their jobs are afraid of making good things.' I'm paraphrasing that, but I totally share this view," said Miyazaki.
"I think it's true. And I think the people at Kadokawa, our parent company, understand that I hold this view very strongly. While we can't say 100% - we can't say with complete certainty what the future's going to hold for From and Kadokawa - at least as long as this company is my responsibility, that's something I would not let happen. So hopefully our players and our fans can take a little bit of assurance from that."

"For the immediate future, I think how fans have responded to our games, and I daresay the amount of trust they've placed in us as a brand, has provided us with this opportunity to be able to show different types of value that we can add. So I think our job at this point is to not betray that trust and expectation."
That trust in the brand certainly boosted the sales of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. "I am very thankful for the fans who have responded and embraced that trust that we've built together," said Miyazaki. "So I understand Armored Core was never a huge franchise adopted by many players, but seeing the current state of the franchise I think makes us know that we're on the right path. And I think the same can be said for me as well as the company as a whole."
