I just beat her yesterday (went back to the game after falling off it just before the end a couple of years ago), beat her by two handing the Bloodhound Fang. Used Mimic which made the 1st phase a breeze but that second phase was...a time.
I finished it when it originally came out but on NG+ still got a ways to go to get to DLC. Won’t get it til summer hols or my birthday maybe.
I always spend about 30 hours in a souls game, get irritated by it less than halfway through and stop
I think I always wander into areas I'm underleveled for

By Lego Go To PostI have barely played any of Elden Ring. I beat the first two proper bosses and then stopped 😭Same, the open world thing just didn't do it for me the way the others did
I find the core gameplay loop good enough that I wasn’t too bothered by the relative aimlessness and the fact I didn’t find the story hugely engaging. No combat better than a Souls game for me (although a step back from the tightness of Sekiro).
Bloodborne still the GOAT. Sekiro close second.

Loved exploring and stumbling into new shit so much, thought it was extremely well done.
I literally pick one direction and just go with the flow lol let the ADHD take over

I think that contributed to not as strong a story though, which is something I absolutely fell head over heels for with Bloodborne. It didn’t have the same narrative tightness or propulsion.
Oh yeah for sure
I hope they continue making relatively linear games too in the future
Masaru Yamamura the god sul campo what are you cooking

Can't help but try and do and track everything since I know I'll never replay it, and it ruins the flow of games where you're supposed to just amble around doing whatever looks interesting. Might go back to it eventually, doubt it though.
Elden Ring is to me what BOTW was to many people. it really has an incredible sense of exploration. It's more linear that BOTW still, but that world felt largely so lifeless, ER's is so massive but still so dense with content that it, even now, is amazing to just wander around and find stuff.
That said, the actual map is probably too big. There is an inconsistent level of quality and despite the density there still is a lot of empty (too empty) space. A map 80% of the size would have been perfect, it'll be interesting to see how the Erdtree map feels with it being significantly smaller, if the content is of a high level it could be the perfect form of this type of game...

They never miss with DLCs and this one is an enormous expansion. Super hyped
By NiceGuy Go To PostThat's what I can't do, and what killed the game for me :(Oh I get it. It's okay to miss things really, we always miss things in their games anyway it's almost designed that way lol

I don't even feel comfortable anymore picking a top 3 lol like all of them are great imo
But if I had to
Armored Core 4: For Answer
Armored Core 6
Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors

I loved Elden Ring. It's the best game I've played in years. The sense of exploration is unrivalled and I loved finding new areas and mini dungeons to explore and loot. But I agree that the further into the game you get, the more unfocused it becomes.
Limgrave and the Weeping Peninsula does a good job in introducing the world and eventually pointing you towards Stormveil as where you need to go. But once you get to Liurnia and the game really opens up, there isn't as great a sense of direction of what you need to do next.

Bloodborne was brilliant, so much so that it got me hooked into the Souls games and Sekiro too. Elden Ring was very good and I enjoyed it a lot but I actually think its open ended design hurt it a bit, it just lost that magic feel for me personally.
Still looking forward to playing the DLC eventually.
BB remaster when ;_;

Sekiro clears all, frankly. It was too good.
The worst they’ve put out is either DS2 or DS3.
DS2 was so visually inconsistent. Too many low quality boss fights and encounters.
DS3 felt like it was just coasting on a lot the ideas of the previous games.
Both still solid games though.

Bibi will always be number one for me, was incredible playing it and getting completely immersed in the lore, for once (largely) understandable thanks to The Pale Blood reading companion. I hope it gets a remaster / remake at some point so more people will be able to experience it, but I'm not dying to replay it. Though far from a perfect game, I very much conserve it as such in my memory. Wouldn't want to spoil it.
Demons Souls ( Asia Release) was the best because no one knew what the fuck they were doing now its an entire genre of supernerd who learns 'the meta'
Meta, non meta, summons, no summons, guide, no guide etc...all legit as far as I'm concerned
Just have fun

I bounced off Demon’s Souls before I even reached the Phallanx when I first tried it around the UK release.
I did not know what the fuck I was doing. I was getting bullied by basic enemy ganks. I was not wise to Miyazaki’s devious ways.
Then I revisited it in 2012 after the YT algorithm blessed me with the knowledge of circle strafing and backstabs. Finished it, then bought and played Dark Souls immediately after.

DS3 has the nameless king. Which is one of my favorite boss fights ever
Elden Ring’s numbers are ridiculous honestly. They did Skyrim numbers on a new IP and without compromising their core gameplay for mass appeal.

Everyone praising the story. The 7/10 called the game oppressive
We are so back
I’ll get it once it hits 30 bidens. I still have the original switch version sealed 😭 I guess I can sell it to offset some of the cost
Edit: BB and Sekiro are S tier, ER A+ tier, then the rest I like but pretty much all equally although have a fondness for the demons soul remake

Sekiro is From's peak. It's the only game of theirs (that I've played!) that doesn't have some mad dip in quality somewhere. Neither does Dark Souls 2, lick my toes haters.
By Zabojnik Go To PostI'll have to give Sekiro another shot at some point, won't I.
it's only one of the very best games ever made.
