The demo on Steam is alright, but I didn't love it. It's a rogue-like, and the bite-sized map structure makes it feel a bit more mobile gamey than you'd expect at first.
I was weirded out by cover being omnidirectional, but considering it just throws waves and waves at you from every side, it makes sense. Positioning and cover are still important, but you're gonna be out in the open a lot too. I enjoyed the pace once I got a hang of the synchronized attacks, and realizing you only need to focus on the objectives while mostly ignoring the fodder you don't have to kill.

I'm a simple man. Outlaws has space battles? I'm in.
AC Shadows im a bit eh about, because I didnt enjoy Valhalla or Odyssey at all.
Avowed went from a 'buy' to 'wait for review' after watching the deep dive.

Happy for Team Ninja though❤️
By Freewheelin Go To PostI have a real problem starting games and never finishing them, I also have a bunch of games on my steam deck that I haven't even started lolYou should blame the games for not holding your attention tbh

The snow areas in Elden Ring are ass. Remembering why I dropped it. But I wanna kill all the main bosses before the DLC so just trying to get through it. All this open world shit is way more annoying than any of the actual bosses up here which are pushovers.
And now I get to deal with more fog. Because fog is a fun mechanic in video games. Suck my toes, whoever designed these areas.

Not sure I can be bothered to put it into detail but new Dragon Age gives me real YA fiction vibes both visually and narratively.

I have a soft spot for it though.

Also,‘what’s stopping someone from just using Steam achievement manager
By Rob Go To PostDoes this not apply to the console versions? It does! That's still pretty high actually, I think it's higher than consoles.
No no it's not the achievement, the portal to the DLC is locked behind a secret boss fight in a secret area

All the DA games looked bad to awful to me, so it can’t be hard for the husk studio to replicate that.
Disclaimer: I didn’t play any of them because they all looked bad.

By Laboured Go To PostNot sure I can be bothered to put it into detail but new Dragon Age gives me real YA fiction vibes both visually and narratively.Forever ago, their relationships/romances was pretty much the least divisive aspect of their games, so they just lean into the fanfic/ship and quirk more and more. This game in particular had a "council" of fans giving feedback every step of development behind the scenes, and it's your lot of Bioware Forums types ofc.
...
There's a scene in Star Trek 09 where Chris Pine Kirk goes into a bar, starts hitting on Uhura, gets into a brawl and gets the shit kicked out of him until Pike comes and breaks it up. It's the perfect introduction to that character: the brash, womanizing, immature, more brave than sense leader archetype.
In ME:A there's a similar scene, except Ryder is not Kirk, she's a shy, nerdy, paste eating fangirl who has awkward encounters everywhere she goes. In that scene, she DOESN'T get the shit kicked out of her, but instead in a very badly choreographed brawl she kicks ass because she's the main character girl-boss too. I think that pretty much sums up modern Bioware and their level of pandering/doesn't get it-ness.
DA and ME universes didn't quite start like that; sure their games have always had a level of immaturity to them, but they've widened the gap each time and they don't know how to reconcile both ends anymore.
I didn’t play andromeda so I can’t say much about the relationship stuff there, but DA:I actually did it well at least. Characters having their own sexuality, and interesting personalities for most of them as well.
Mass Effect 2 and 3 though? Yeah I thought it was just fine.

This game walks back the characters having their own sexuality, now every character is DTF the main character regardless of gender or preference.
Every companion is player-sexual now, instead of creating characters with their own preferences and identity, they exist to pander to whatever players want.

Yeah I literally just read that they’re making the characters pansexual again, and I’m not a fan of it.

It’s a side boss so it’s not a surprising stat. Curious how many people get the expansion not knowing this and have several hours or more to beat Mogh. I also expect there will lots of people helping their fellow tarnished with the summons feature

All I remember about Mass Effect Andromeda romances was the blonde girl's ass having a lot of polygons for how briefly you see it. The golden age of video games.
Played more Elden Ring and got to Haligtree and Farum Azula so no more snow shit. I thought they nerfed Mimic Tear ages ago but it still makes pretty much every boss fight a snooze... I'll keep it going until the DLC I guess because I am about that life now. I did kill Mohg which... he has so many anti-melee abilities that made the fight more tedious than difficult but he was fairly tough! I probably won't fight Malenia, not got the patience for it at the moment. Does NG+ start straight after killing any particular boss? Just so I know what to avoid to keep my dude ready for Erdtree.

I expected AC6 to be harder? I know it got patches to ease some boss fights but so far, I dunno, I don’t feel like I’ve been skill checked.
Dual Ludlow machine guns on a light-medium weight build made short work of everything in the arena so far. Dual missile launchers too of course.
Boss fights in missions too. At most, some have taken two attempts. I’m up to the beginning of chapter 3, just done the Swineburne mission.
Fun game though, love the spectacle of the boss fights. Almost a bullethell with the amount of projectiles on screen in some of the fights.

A Ludlow chad you love to see it
Glad you're enjoying it, such a unique game.
@Hixx there's a flask cocktail that completely snuffs his mid phase heal but I only realized it after beating him lmao

I also love how stupid it seems to make these huge mechs with hands then give them massively scaled up ballistic firearms instead of building them into the mech arms.
There’s a fucking huge SPAS12 in the parts shop and it’s ridiculous and cool. I didn’t really fuck with mechs outside of appreciating the design of Metal Gear Rex. Now I’m familiar with Kibner’s game, I see the vision.

Hixx no
It's the one boss fight that really isn't a snooze with Mimic Tear, it does make the 1st phase a snooze (sometimes) but for the second you'll likely mostly be completely on your own so you don't feel like you've cheated at the end
