That was the showcase I’ve been wanting for like 10 years at this point.
The fact that I get access to all this for 15 dollars a month is highly questionable but that’s not my business.

Spent all day playing co-op Elden Ring.
Did I miss anything? Surely Xbox didn’t announce or show off any good games, right?

Didn’t get to watch live. Got nervous when I saw immersive sim thrown around with perfect dark but it looks pretty good. Probably about as good as a franchise that has been dead for almost 20 years could.
Edit: watched most of the trailers. It was a pretty good. Might be the first good fable game and e day is nice. Feel like my S will die trying to run some of these 2025 and later games.

i'd be willing to bet it's a launch for next gen xbox, but cross gen. fall 2026.
Is there a general consensus on the best COD campaign outside of COD4?
I always thought World at War and the original Black Ops were underrated, and that Modern Warfare 2 and 3 were overrated. 2 being actually bad, and 3 being good, just not as good as the original.

CoD4 aside. It’s Black Ops 2. It was fun and did some cool shit with different endings and branching paths.
Dunno why they ruined it with a buttrock band cameo though.
By DY_nasty Go To Postthought indy looked solid all things consideredOf all of Microsoft's games it looks the most like it has clear direction and not years of developmental hell
Like fable and perfect dark still look like proof of concepts
Excuse me while I gush over the Elden Ring co-op mod for a moment. It’s really fucking cool and a great way to replay the game. Highly recommend it.
Went through so much yesterday. Last time we played back in like January, we’d cleared Limgrave and Weeping Peninsula. Attempted Radahn but he was too buff and hot to easily beat at low levels.
Yesterday we took down Rannala. Who you can just stun lock with a Greatsword btw. My mate died and she had 90% health left. I wailed away and she just stood there and took that shit. Always told him that was an easy boss but fuck me.
Then Radahn was next, Godskin in the Caelid tower, Morgott, some side bosses. Left off on the way to mountains. Still need to go back and do the volcano, sewers and the whole unground that opens up after Radahn.
Truly a 10/10 game.

By Lego Go To PostNew Life is Strange made it all worthwhile 😭Have much more faith in Deck 9 than I do in DONTNOD, but I'm still not excited. Bounced hard off of LIS2, and was never interested in 3. Maybe Arcadia Bay will pull me back in closer to release.

For some reason the characters from the first one mean a lot to me. It feels good to go back to Max. The music, the vibe and everything is great in those games.
I was of course bae over bay, I assume they're going to retcon my ending 😂
By s y Go To Poststreets are saying fable and dragon age switched art styles lol

Hits much harder too.

First game just nails the characters, setting, story and soundtrack. Feel like similar to Supermassive, they've spent a decade trying to recapture the magic. Chloe was such a huge part of why I liked the first game and to a lesser extent Before The Storm (though I can absolutely see why others despise her and felt she detracted from the game if anything) that I just don't have it in me to give them as much of a chance as I possibly should.
Never understood the Chloe hate, it's like everyone forgot that she's a teenage girl, with a dad who died, a friend who left her and another who's gone missing/been killed. Of course she's a bit prickly, emotional, and cringe at times.
A little bit of it is that the game was written by people who's first language isn't English as well, I think?

i just don't see the market for it.
even less so if it's not just a pc.
if they want steam deck numbers then sure, go ahead.

By HottestGrapes Go To PostSteam Deck numbers are even less impressive than Series X numbers. That's a take
By Willkiller Go To PostThat's a takeIs it? Only confirmed numbers is it sold 1.6m units throughout 2022.
The Switch and PS5 both did 17m+ in their first year.

Well, Valve confirmed it's sold "multiple millions". Which could only be 2, but it's a very niche thing.
It's not competing with Xbox/Playstation/Switch
yeah i think valve is happy with how it's doing.
i just don't see a huge market where such a device would be a game changer for MS instead of another low selling HW.

Idk what's wrong with me but that doom trailer didn't do all that much for me. I think it's almost more the way it's edited than the game itself not being exciting.
So Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal had to come in to fix the messes The Initiative and Playground made of Perfect Dark and Fable, eh? That's so interesting to me.
i think that was always the plan for PD. the Initiative was meant to be an "all star" team of industry vets that produce games and the actual development will be outsourced.

Crystal Dynamics never had trouble getting a game out.
I love that Tomb Raider trilogy and they were on a 2 year dev cycle.
