The mock battles are good, but I wish I could delve deeper into the buffing stats. Set it up so Rolf gets buffed with damage and debuffed with -accuracy, but then buffs himself with truestrike before attacking. I can't tell though whether the two are stacking, or whether his own buff is just removing the first one before being applied.
Would also be nice to see how many kills each character has

so like, its blurred for single target type attacks and single hit attacks early on - later on when you have multi hit attacks, its clearer to separate.
also, you can apply conditions through the gambit-like stuff. so if an enemy applies an auto-evade to itself or regularly applies a blind to you, true strike legitimately negates it. so you can specify that true strike *only* activates when certain enemies or conditions are present and save yourself the action.
I've still only got one base action point on everyone except Alain (with an item) and Josef, so I'm just using his true strike on every attack right now
Just given him the bow with an extra PP that automatically targets healing enemies, but haven't used it yet. Can't get Guard Impetus to work, won't activate on natural guards or ability guards.

Completed Telltale Walking Dead season 3 the other night. Awful. Just awful. I hated 90% of the entire new cast of characters they introduced. I was trying to kill the entire Garcia family at every choice I was allowed to make. The art style change was also shit.
I did start season 4 last night and that first episode was excellent. I was into that the entire time, so I hope it's a return to form because the first two seasons are very enjoyable.

Never played one before
Played and finished both Senua games. I think I like them and dislike them equally, but each for different reasons.
For walking sims they are perfectly fine, despite the repetitive puzzles and nothing combat. The first one has a better, more cohesive and personal story, the second has the more impressive presentation and set pieces.
Narrative puzzle/adventure games like Brothers have mechanics that tie nicely into the story, or walk/sims like Firewatch with the map/compass navigation, being guided through a walkie talkie, and the story being about a middle aged man being "lost in the woods" so to speak (I liked the Senua games more than Firewatch tbf, kind of a lame game imo).
Senua's hook: a representation of psychosis, with the voices and changing perspectives, is very uneven. Most of the time, it is impressive from an audiovisual experience pov (Senua's Saga is the best looking game recently, and it's not even close). But other times, the perspective shifts lack so much creativity (line up a path here or make a ramp there kind of stuff doesn't really do justice to the graphical realism achieved here), and the binaural audio can also detract from the experience: "there's no bridge" "she has to find the bridge", "she can't move on if she doesn't find the bridge" "she's lost" "she can't go forward"... like, chill out game, I see your basic ass puzzle, I'm just trying to find some collectible over here.
And that's probably the major issue. They are not bad games, but when you strip down your experience to 6 hour narrative journey where you mostly push the left stick forward, you gotta make sure that everything is working together and coalescing into a compelling whole. For such small packages, their respective weaknesses get amplified tenfold.
If you got a good PC/Oled give Senua's Saga a go either way. Genuinely jaw dropping in spots.

Feel like giving it to Bloober was basically an admission from the start that Konami didn't care if it was any good or not

now they'll make some money with 15k as a budget because lol gamers will buy any old shit. they'll actually argue that it's now even better and the intended vision or some wild shit that gamers say.
these fuckers even know that angela is the cover art for silent hill 2 in 'MURICA lmao?

weirdest take i keep seeing, from people who for whatever reason think her new model looks good. she wasnt hot in the original either like. she looked really ill if anything most of the time.
but her model looks really out of place and just... weird. especially when animating. she looks almost cartoonish at times, while moving like a first year student at digipen animated her.
however maria is... Not sexy enough. At all. Was kind of the point she was a seductive weird presence in the game. bring back the cameron diaz drip.
also interesting decision to just add an echo to all the voice overs. when trying to make their dialogue dream like. instead of actually instructing the actors in how to act for the parts.
best part of what they showed was probably james interacting with laura.
By data Go To PostThe sexual assault victim isn't hot enough
it's the exact opposite? angela looks like she's around 19 in her current version. that's not how she's supposed to look, she's supposed to look like she's aged horribly. they're trying to make her pretty breh, that's beyond james sad staring at a noose character betrayal.
i dont know why i keep saying cameroun diaz. well, probably because of her face, but... if they changed it, they should at least have used the dirrty outfit.
who the fuck ever thought angela looked HOT anyway?

Do you know about the new 'origin story' for pyramid head from the geniuses that brought us the classic, genre defining horror game The Medium. and some other shit game I don't remember are handcrafting for us?
It's gonna be swell.
u r not ready wooden.
something along the lines of maria actually killed james instead but it was through pegging.

anyway people will keep making excuses, hell blooper will keep making excuses too in the end it will just be a incoherent mess, with 6 and 7s as review scores.
speaking of incoherent messes, it's a shame that tomm is no longer around to tell us it was all unintended and those dirty japanese don't even understand english to begin with.
such a shame.

what a time to be alive, 2001 was peak videogames.

Nah. You’re either all in or you’re all out. You love MGS1-3? Well guess what, you gotta accept and encourage Kojima’s body snatching of famous actresses, 3D scanning them for 2 Death 2 Stranding
Don't think I've ever enjoyed trying to min-max as much as I am in Unicorn Overlord. Normally I find the menus too fiddly, the results too annoying to discover and parse, or the changes too incremental. FFXII especially I fell off hard.
Trying to avoid the optimal builds and combos that I'm sure are posted online and attempt to figure my own strats out. Got so many units now that some of them are gonna have to get benched, but they're all so useful that it'll be tough to decide. Lex has been pretty useless so far, but he's the only person I've got with arrow cover. Making Valor abilities and deployments take from the same resource pool was a great move.
Bit odd that of the two Vanillaware games I've played one has had a really fun story but shallow and throwaway combat and strategy, while this is the complete opposite so far. Give them however much money it takes to hit both out of the park.

Is the price on these Silent Hill games indicative of quality? Should I skip 2 and go straight for Shattered Memories?
i give up on Hellblade 2, think I only have one area left but I hope they patch it to make the game better before i finish it up... months from now.
I hope it brings lot of new players into Dark Souls 1 and they get invaded by an extremely cunty level 4 dickwraith. For the authentic Dark Souls experience.
By HottestGrapes Go To PostNothing about retro game prices are indicative of quality (or even rarity at this point)
