By Fenderputty Go To PostI think k you could argue that story driven games have benefitted from the upgrades. Don’t think TLOU would be the same on the PS2. Audio another portion, but that may require the user having a 5.1 system or a bitchen headset. Certain atmospheres benefit from graphical improvements too. The more detailed a fromsoft game gets the more creepy things are to me. A ton of the enjoyment I’m having in ghost of tsunima is marveling at how gorgeous it is while I explore.
Fidelity is absolutely something I care about some of the time, and others not. I love don’t starve, and come back to it still. Hades and price of Persia more examples.
I’m not arguing that graphical improvements are irrelevant btw. I like good graphics, it’s just that graphical fidelity is the practically the main thing being pushed forward with new hardware. It’s also (probably) the leading cause of bloated budgets and dev times.

Yeah I didn’t think you were, just putting in my two cents that i like fidelity improvements even if they’re not advancing things mechanically. It’s absolutely the cause of bloated budgets and dev times.
Since the topic of remakes has come up … what the fuck are bkuepoint doing lol
PS5 shipped 4.5m consoles in last quarter; almost 5x more than Xbox Series X|S according to our estimates
that's a wrap on xbox
My main concern that graphics has technically gotten better is that parts however, doesn’t improve along with it
Case in point is Ghost of Tsushima and Final Fantasy XVI. Both are great looking games, but then you get to a subquest and the cheap ass cutscenes and/or lip syncing just takes you out from the immersion, even though you wouldn’t think much about it 2 gens ago.

By HottestGrapes Go To PostWhy buy PlayStation games on PC when they release 4 years later for £50?Wait 4 years to save $7 US dollars? couldn't be me.
yeah Marvel Rivals really got the juice. Most fun I've had with Overwatch since year 1. I think the team-up stuff is what makes it really cool. Reminds me of X-Men Legends where you'd get bonuses for matching up certain heroes in your party but expanded even further.
For example if you play Rocket Raccoon you've got your standard toolkit. but if you play Rocket Raccoon and you have Groot on your team, you gain an extra ability where you can ride on Groot's shoulders and it gives you an armor buff. If you're playing Rocket and you have Punisher on your team, you get an extra ability that gives Frank increased firerate and infinite ammo. If you have both on your team, you get both abilities. If you play Magneto and have Scarlet Witch on your team, you get an ability to wield a giant fucking metal greatsword
And every hero has these.

Completely missed that the Diablo IV loot revamp season started today. I know everyone here is eager to know what's new.
I'll be sure to update you guys on all the improvements and answer your most pressing questions.

Bamco sent out invites to some streamers to preview the expansion. Must be massive if they're hyping it up like this
Accidentally manifested this sorry 😭

they spent more than 2 years on this, it's going to be insane.

Kadokawa Corporation is making a generous gesture. They're going to distribute promotional options worth 5.3 billion yen, or about $35 million at the current exchange rate, to employees of their subsidiary studio FromSoftware.Good for employee retention. Keep this group together
i don't think they will ever go back to an IP they don't own.
especially since Microsoft owns Sekiro lol.

They never go back to their best games. Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro. In a way I’m kinda glad. It’s nice to have one off great games without it becoming a whole franchise.
On the other hand, get Smokey on the phone to Phil. We need a Sekiro 2 and Xbox needs a great game before the final nail goes into the that coffin.

xbox is a third party pub now

One of the worst things to happen to gaming, the live service - streamers combo put this medium in the dirt.
I quite like one off games. There's one in the works that we know nothing about except that its weird or something

Some of these screaming screen goblins are better known than the people who make the fucking games they get rich off of.
It's all fucked.
By C4-621 Go To PostFrom owns Sekiro actually! Which is why its not on game pass alreadyi mean pretty much none of the activision games are on GP but i think you are right that From owns the IP.
i was confused since they used Sekiro quite prominently in their victory trailer when the deal closed.
my bad.
Phil has put exactly one game on game pass from Activision: Diabler 4, which seems to be a game he is addicted to.

Especially when GoT is essentially AC but good. But when you're the amateur Armond White of video games you just gotta say stuff I guess.

The plan to move Xbox games to other platforms is codenamed "Latitude" internally, and I know there's debate and unease at Microsoft about whether or not this is a good idea. More upcoming Microsoft-owned games slated for PlayStation are already being developed. While it's true Microsoft is a prolific publisher on PlayStation already, it has typically revolved around specific franchises like Minecraft. From what I've heard, Microsoft is pushing for no "red line" for what games could come to PlayStation, and it all revolves around Satya Nadella and CFO Amy Hood's plans to increase every department's margins.
