Played a bit of the Unicorn Overlord demo. Not for me.
Was immediately put off by the auto-battles, but after playing more it seems like setting your units up is quite an involved process that I'd end up enjoying, especially if one of the difficulty settings is good for me and stays that way throughout the game.
Problem is that I bounced off of the setting hard to the point that I was reading through dialogue and skipping voiced lines after about ten minutes. Where 13 Sentinels grabbed me from the first minute, this has pushed me away. Oh well, you can't like everything.
Couple of things I'd like to know though, what do you spend those post-mission rewards on, how does the game determine which unit to target during fights, and does the game get the upgrade pacing right in terms of unlocking and applying skills to characters, expanding the sizes of your units, and increasing the number of AP and PP you can use each battle?
I'm guessing the first would be answered if I'd finished the demo, and the second is something of a gambit system where you set orders, priorities and target paramaters to the skills.
Might get it when it's £20.

i hated the first hour of UO and said as much during the demo as well. game does a poor job of showing how gameplay works by presenting players what the 'end-game' looks like without so much as a clue of how to get there or what all is happening on the screen.
the gambit system of UO is probably the best implementation i've ever seen in a rpg though. along with units/equipment versatile enough to make the most of it
i think the game didn't 'click' for me until i got the archer guy at least. but you're absolutely not wrong to be skipping dialogue fwiw

I really enjoyed Far Cry 3 and the dino DLC they did to accompany it. Have the 4 and 5 discs on the backlog.

Between this and Rebirth, it's pretty bemusing that menu shortcuts on the quadrants of the touchpad didn't become standard. So much time wasted going through the pause menu constantly.
Frame drops in the opening area are crazy, nothing was even happening besides the lighting. Might turn ray tracing off to go along with the Max30fps
