Re enemy variety in DD2:
I’m pretty chill with it. Everything so far that I’ve seen, from trash mobs to big enemies, they’re all pretty distinct from each other. Different strengths/weakness, different AI, etc.
I can understand the dislike for the same enemies spawning in the same places, though I personally like that for the sake of farming materials.
I’d happily take more variety, but I’m happy with what they delivered on that front.

Those were the two things I disliked most about the first game, and presumably the easiest fixes without impeding on the director's vision.It's my dynasty warriors/single player mmo fix with betterr combat/podcast game tbh
If you're going to limit fast travel and have the player run the same route time and again, you have to do everything possible to keep it fresh, and it sounds like it might even be a step back from the first game in that aspect. Maybe the emergent stuff happens often enough and is surprising enough to make up for it.
I ended up with 13 jokers. Too bad most of them were garbage, I think it'd take something like this with sick cards to get through ante 12.

i feel like i clear all decks easily but i struggle to put together a deck that's scaling fast enough to keep up with the ante increases. usually the step that goes from 2 milly to 7 milly kills me.

No, I don't know how far in the game I am, in terms of % progress, but I've just had too much annoying shit happen where I missed something fun or interesting, and there's no way to go back and get it.
That was very much present in DD1 as well. The difference is that DD1 was 1/5 the size of DD2, if that. Starting over was no big thing because you could get back to where you were in no time at all. I can't imagine going back in this game and getting all the seeker tokens over again, checking all the same caves etc.

There is zero point in getting all the seeker tokens thankfully. I do hope they give the game the continued support it deserves though.
Also Unicorn Overlord is still gud. Might do P3R next. Still got FF7 but just haven't had the urge to play it.
