I'll tell you why it's a shit film, then. It's a bad sequel to Prometheus (the Engineers? Forget about them! Shaw? Forget about her! Basically anything that was remotely interesting? Forget it. David? I'll get to him later). It's a fucking SHIT prequel to Alien (the mystery of where and what the Xenomorphs are? FORGET ABOUT IT! DAVID DID IT! Fuck yeah DAVID! David can do anything!)
And the film itself, in isolation, is fucking bad. It's just constant ridiculously stupid decisions from every single person involved to make Super Duper DAVID seem so fucking SMART. So much goofy shit (the slipping in blood twice, the dude sticking his face in the egg, the fucking flute scene. It makes the characters in Prometheus, who are also dumb as fuck, look respectable. And so much of the film is fucking ugly. Yeah it has a few cool moments visually but the majority of it is sludge.
It's absolutely shit. I guess if you like watching stupid people die and you just fucking love David's character for some reason yeah you might not think it was shit.

I usually find myself on an island with this take. They took a suspenseful sci fi horror and turned it into an action flick. It was good but it was such a change of pace from the first. 3 wasn't good but they at least tried to bring that back with a single alien, no weapons etc. Prometheus was kinda fun but yeah there were some glaringly stupid things. Covenant was decent. I'll watch the new one just cause I generally find them entertaining.
