By Laboured Go To PostNo thank you, I've already seen Scorsese's New York, New York
Looks alright. Will wait until it's on vod so I can skip the none singing parts.
And cause I'm very scared to go to watch this at the cinema. It's messed up I even have to debate this in my mind, but you need serious ocular pat downs on the people going

Elizabeth Banks hastily putting together a sequel.
New Bad Boys was decent. Far from as good as BB2 but better than For Life. First 45 and last 30 minutes are chock full of creative camera shenanigans.
First 30 mins or so is pretty bad though. Weirdly ugly and just... Martin Lawrence felt well off it. Not for the whole film, thankfully. Just the opening bits.

only one guy i would trust to play bob dylan
By reilo Go To PostChalamet does a pretty decent Dylan impression here. I wonder if it's just him or if they're doing some blending fuckery
Didn't particularly care for Longlegs. Hadn't seen any of the advertising campaign either. Someone inform me what was significant about it.

Wooden is being disingenuous.
The initial teaser trailers showed very little, I don't even think the title was known for a decent amount of time. Really cryptic, no dialogue, creepy. Just generated a lot of interest, after seeing the movie I wouldn't even call it a horror, but the initial marketing certainly made it look like it had potential to be a really effective horror.
The more they showed (and the more information that generally just came out about it), the less interesting it looked. But the cryptic teasers were pretty good!
By WoodenLung Go To Postpeople were blown away by the concept of trailers.🤣🤣
By Lupercal Go To PostLong Legs first hour is pretty good it's the final third and the ending that buggers it all upI'd shorten that to the first 20 mins or so. Maybe even less.
Warning signs were there very early. For example, the first chapter/act is called "his letters", they've been unable to crack this cipher for 30 years or so. Lee comes in and just…immediately solves it and it's never mentioned again by anyone.
The Bikeriders has made me wonder if the least fucking SHIT voice that Tom Hardy has ever done is as Bane.
What a fucking shit actor he is. SHIT.

By Hixx Go To PostCharlie Hunnam has a disability though.
He's a Geordie.
Quoted for Will.
By Lupercal Go To PostA quiet place: day one out there lads.Nice
I watched Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1 the other day. The whole 3 hours.
I don't know, I was somehow in a mood for a western ... and I ended up kind of enjoying it? It's meandering and unfocused and made-for-TV feeling despite the budget and its ambitions, but the (character) acting is solid, it has a handful of redeeming scenes and Costner is always a treat to watch.
In a couple of years nobody will remember this was brought into existence and rightfully so, but I for one am looking forward to Chapter 2.

How was the scenery/cinematography? They filmed it really close to where i would vacation as a kid and the trailer brought back memories for sure.
By diehard Go To PostHow was the scenery/cinematography? They filmed it really close to where i would vacation as a kid and the trailer brought back memories for sure. It's reasonably well shot, but the cinematography is nothing to write home about. Surprisingly few open country / grand vista scenes, since most of the happening is centered around small towns, scruffy settlements and the like.
One thing that kept bugging me is that the streaming version at least is in 16:9, which is sacrilege for a western. Just feels wrong.
Deadpool & Wolverine
10/10
No notes.
Got me clapping in the theater like I'm at a wrestling event. Never had such an experience like this before.
Round 2 late tomorrow night.

I'm going use $5 worth of Google credit and rent this Louis CK doc, Sorry, Not Sorry. The trailer had a pretty solid lineup of people in it.
Got out of a movie was told my mom fell and broke her cast.
That news wasn’t anywhere near as bad as the Deadpool & Wolverine “movie”

lads the last 30 mins of True Lies is so much fun. The rest of the film is fine but basically anytime a helicopter or jet is involved, it's a great time.
Single greatest delivery of the word "Bye!" in cinema history too.

ive watched the trailer so many times now at the cinema, it is pain. but then i hear my boy tom wambsgans, and i feel some joy again. at least right until he joke falls completely flat about a guy having shit himself.

I hope you didn’t watch the 4K AIbomination m8, it looks horrendous. I dread to think what Cameron and his AI goblins are going to do to The Terminator when that eventually comes to 4K :(

It's kind of hard to find the non-shitty version online. And listen man, Cameron just needed "convenient villains". He could have picked the Irish!
I was more surprised by how much of the film focused on JLC's body. Between this and Kate Winslet in Titanic, this was definitely Cameron's horny era.
