Wait till they find out nobody actually gave a shit about who the directors were. Vast majority who went to see those films have never heard of them.
By Laboured Go To Postfuck meExpected, they need eachother. MCU has been meh and the Russo's career post MCU has been trash.

By inky Go To PostWhat are even the Avengers anymore?you mean you aren't excited for the crazy cast of Captain America II (who we've seen once 4 years ago for like 10 minutes), Captain Marvel (maybe?), Thor and daughter (maybe), Black Widow II (Remember her, from that movie 4 years ago?), Spider Man, and Hawkeye II (Haven't seen since 4 years ago either), and uhhhhhhhhhh
Just do X-Men and Doom already. (Not them, someone else.)

memories of murder is the funniest serial killer film i’ve ever seen. sensational dropkicks.
great film, but wasn’t blown away by it like everyone else seems to be. ends on a high with a great last act, though.
4 outta 5 stars.

I just got out of Longlegs. I need more time to think on it but I think it was a lot more bad than good.
It's a pretty terrible script, with some really fucking weird performances wrapped up in a really nicely shot and pretty well paced film. But the story is a fucking mess. And I'm surprised not many people have been talking about it as a black comedy, there's just so much goofy stuff. Cage is FULL ON Cage, which again...I feel hasn't been mentioned. From the reception I was expecting a quiet, creepy performance but he's Cage turned up to 11, and fuck me the make up/costume for him 💀
I mean they put out this trailer:
"The first time Maika Monroe saw Nicolas Cage as Longlegs, her heart rate hit 170 bpm"
He looks absolutely ridiculous. Maybe Monroe's heat rate went up so high because she thought her career might be over starring alongside fucking Nic Cage in that make up? Make cocaine? I don't know. Maybe it plays better if you don't know who Nic Cage is, but if you do...it's a hard thing to ignore
All that said though, I think it's worth a watch. It was entertaining, it's slow but I was never bored. I appreciate the attempt at tension, there was some decent creepy imagery but everything is so at odds with what is actually happening it's quite jarring.

Just got out of Twisters. It was the only original version movie showing at the local kino, so we went for it.
Got more dumb fun out of it than expected. We were the only people in the cinema, so we were free to loudly ridicule what was happening on the screen and that probably helped a lot.
I liked it a lot more than the original, which I watched recently for the first time, even though it's basically the same movie. The Powell bump.

Yeah idk why I felt very lukewarm on Boy and the Heron. It's decent but it's not a standout Ghibli film for me.
Barnes & Noble got me earlier tonight with this 50% sale. 😔
Haven't seen Memories of Murder or Age of Innocence.

By reilo Go To PostI Saw the Devil is an insane movieCouldn’t stand that one and The Chaser. Just too ridiculous.
Wtf is it with Korean movies and cutting the achilles??
The soundtrack is insane though.
Zero chill. It was described to me as a cat and mouse thriller but it's so ridiculously violent where leaving it to the imagination would've been better off.
Have you seen A Bittersweet Life with the same actor and director, or The Man from Nowhere? I much prefer something like those films.
By DiPro Go To Postjust some decent light summer entertainment is all i ask for.Unfortunately I heard this one will make you cry

Twisters is right there.
kinds of kindness, i liked it, but not among my favorite of his, which poor things probably is. but i was entertained the whole way through, and very confused. would like to see it again when it's out on vod, to see if i can make more sense out of it.
and to see that sensational sex tape again

Twisters looking at a 80M$ OW, a big jump from the 60M$ that was predicted.
Glen Powell is on a roll, dude has tons of charisma.

There’s no polite way to segue from that last post to this one.
I watched The Batman last night. I really liked it. Had a really gritty look to it that fit the tone perfectly, but without veering off into being grimdark like Snyder’s DC stuff.
Didn’t expect to like Pattison as Batman/Wayne, but I can’t say he disappointed. Andy Serkis as Alfred was great too.

Happy that it looks that Chris Stuckmman has nailed it. The BTS videos looked promising.
