By Laboured Go To PostOooooh, that's much, much worse. That sounds like their whole book self publishing model.
Money gurus updating their 'how to get rich quick" grift university courses as we speak.
By n8 dogg Go To PostI wish they’d remake 12 Angry Men every ten years with a new generation of actors. Perfect script. Let me see Tom Hanks’ take on Juror 8, Denzel Washington’s take on Juror 3, Ke Huy Quan’s take on Juror 2, Jacob Elordi’s take on Juror 7, Helen Mirren’s take on Juror 9.Wtf

We don’t need more remakes.
Spicy hot take but I don’t really care for that film. I’m not even a lawyer and I found the leaps of logic and brazen disregard for legal process and ethics in that film to be too fantastical to move past.

No it's not ffs
Fantasy is a whole ass genre. You're a movie connoisseur m9, I expect better than TV tropes lingo. 😔
(also, "trope" is a dead word now thanks to them).

Because of the cast choices?
By Perfect Blue Go To PostWe don’t need more remakes.
As a man who has seen nine different Macbeth (and is seeing a tenth in David Tennant this autumn!), I like seeing different actors do takes on things, especially when the characterisation is so rich and the script is so great (12 Angry Men maybe my third favourite movie).
It’s so theatrical anyway - I wouldn’t see it as a remake. Would just be like a theatre revival.
That reminds me, we don't have a theatre thread but since there so many massive Cox fans here, I saw Brian's turn in Long Days Journey into Night currently showing in the West End. Can recommend.
Cox's James is actually overshadowed by Patricia Clarkson, who is truly excellent, although Mary Tyrone is a more interesting part I think. The two sons are mediocre but it doesn't matter with two heavyweights alongside.

Great storh
Sure, but less people are gonna see that. I saw 12 Angry Men in Brighton in November with the lad who played Beppe in Eastenders. Did you? Bet you wish they’d made a movie of it.

By Xpike Go To Posti do agree some scripts are just too perfect to be seen only once
but they could make a play instead

In hindsight, the 1985 black comedy After Hours was his fork in the road. It’s also the picture with which he is most identified. Dunne developed the film as a co-producer and convinced Martin Scorsese to direct. He also took the lead role of repressed Paul Hackett, who embarks on a long, dark night of the soul through the streets of Lower Manhattan.
On set, Scorsese made one big stipulation. He ordered Dunne not to have sex for the duration of the shoot. I am gobsmacked by this, but the actor was unfazed. “It made perfect sense to me,” he says. “I knew what he meant. The character had to be boiling over with this unfulfilled anxiety. You had to see …” He pauses. “Not to be crude, but you had to see the semen build up to where it’s practically coming out of his eyes.”
One Saturday night, though, Dunne cracked and broke the rule. The next day of filming, Scorsese spotted the change and went berserk. “You’ve fucked up the whole picture,” he shouted. “I don’t think I can finish it now.”
Dunne says that he was probably being directed here, too. “Because now I’m afraid. I’m terrified. And it turns out that a certain level of fear is the same as not having sex. So [Scorsese’s] second piece of direction is telling me that I’ve ruined his movie. That’s excellent direction. It brought all the old anxiety back.”
I thought Furiosa was alright. Obvs not as gud as Fury Road but enjoyable all the same.
Far too much easily visible CGI however. Visiually it's an enormous downgrade on FR.

We're there dude
He had nothing to apologize for. There is literally no legal way to watch Hush, which was a great film. It's been taken down by Netflix and it was never available to be purchased either digitally or physically.
Based on the ticket sales at my theaters in my area I am expecting Bad Boys For Life to wake up the American box office.

Saw Under the Skin a second time yesterday and I can’t believe I remembered most of it but had completely forgotten about the infamous beach scene. What does that say about humanity?
Saw Furiosa on an empty theater and it was fun but didn’t love it.

Is it too much to ask that they put Saving Private Ryan back in the theaters for a few days? This week would have been perfect for it.
Saw thon The Dead Don't Hurt. Thought it was very good. Not sure about the non-linear stuff. Kinda began to wear by the end. But otherwise: top.
Always good to see Garrett Dillahunt. Raising Hope was a fairly forgettable show but he was a scream in that.
