By FortuneFaded Go To PostIt’s understandable that Edgar Wright doesn’t know how a person would make a good film.lame
Anyway, Edgar Wright is an extremely talented technical director. His editing skills are masterful and that takes a lot of prep and staging to execute at such a high level.

The opening of The Last Boy Scout was fucking wild.
I watched this in theater with my dad as an early birthday event. We got Pizza Hut before the movie too
By DiPro Go To Postexplain baby driver thenStill an extremely well made movie even if you don't like the plot / story

By Perfect Blue Go To PostCan’t stand Edgar Wright tbh. Fuck Scott Pilgrim
he's a bad director. but i respect him for getting somewhat better with age at least.
Watched the Mist the other day and it felt like a made for TV film. Unspectacular in every way and I hate the ending.
Cleansed my eyes with Blow Out last night though. Think someone in here talked about it recently. Very good film, enjoyed every minute of it. Loved the ending, even if it made me actually grimace.
Anyone that thinks Edgar Wright's latest work is his best is wrong.

By RAThasReturned Go To PostJeez, Abigail came out 4/19/2024. Digital is 5/7/2024. You're right. Not even a month.Have you seen how much money Comcast is losing daily with Peacock? It's quite hilarious.
Looking it up, Monkey Man came out 4/5/2024. Digital release was 4/23/2024.
Both are Universal releases at 18 days after theatrical.
Abigail was a bloody good time but the guys behind the trailers should be fired.
The tension of the first half of the movie is gone if you watched the trailer. You have the characters trying to figure out what the hell is going on for almost an hour until they get to the big revelation that shows up on the very first trailer.
Thank god I avoided the rest of the trailers because there are two biggish revelations that are also shown there.
There's still quite a few surprises, the cast is pretty good and the movie is a lot funnier than I expected so it's not like the movie was completely ruined by watching the trailer but it was so easy to make a trailer that gives a glimpse of what kind of movie it would be with fucking spelling it out for everybody.

Just finished it myself. Not sure how you would even market the film without the initial twist. Dan Stevens was great.

Crowe’s performance is so fucking good in this movie
You aren’t supposed to like any of them, imo. No heroes. LA is slime.
I still haven't watched the last movie of the prior trilogy. Would have to get around to that before the start of these new ones.
Audience applauded after the screening of Goodbye Lenin I was at wtf
Damn, communism was so cool. I would've been a great Stasi-boy or factory foreman. Cool hats, calling each other 'comrade'. I was born in the wrong generation fr fr

I remember the jokes flying in here at the end of February regarding the Swiss and @dipro's theater being silent for the entirety of Dune: Part 2. Javier's lisan al gaib stuff became in instant meme the weekend of release, yet the Swiss have no funny bone in their body.
...
By Crusher Go To PostI thought Timothé was the villain.

Suburban commando is basically Alf with hulk Hogan, Christopher Lloyd and Shelley Duvall
I think it's fine tbh. Some dumb fun early 90s kids movie stuff unless you're like a YouTuber who likes to write video essays

American Fiction was funny and convinced me the perfect length for a movie is like 40 to 60 minutes.

Looking forward to Galactus calling Reed Richards a cunt in the broadest Yorkshire accent imaginable.
