Film #3 of 2024 is The Birdcage (Nichols, 1996).

Good performances from Williams, Lane, Wiest and Hackman save the day somewhat. It’s well-written from moment to moment, even if the overarching plot is a little shit.

Watched The Client. Joel Schumacher was really knocking them out in the 90s, huh lol

A ridiculously convoluted plot aside, this has some decent acting, particularly from Susan Sarandon and it’s a passable 2 hours.

Definitely feels like Opp has best picture and director in the bag. The movie was too huge and made too much money to not win the biggest awards.

The acting categories are all really interesting and should be very competitive. It was a good year overall.
