By bud Go To Postdo they have a film pass where you lads live? you pay a monthly fee and you get to go the cinema as often as you'd like.Do you go to Kino Rotterdam?
i got one seven months ago. best purchase i've ever made.
i've actually watched more older than newer films this way.
By Eisbein Go To PostDo you go to Kino Rotterdam?
yeah, they usually have the best specials, i've found.
cinerama and lantarenvenster are good too.
By bud Go To Postyeah, they usually have the best specials, i've found.I don't really vibe with Cinerama. It's okay, but I simply like Kino much better. Niko's, the restaurant at Kino, makes some damn good fried chicken sandwiches too. A burger and a cocktail prior to or just after a film. 👌🏻

Haven't been to Lantarenvenster in ages. Last time I've been was for The Artist lmao. Should probably add it to the roster. Kino's schedule was pretty underwhelming last week. For I do not go to the cinema at 10 in the morning unlike some of you.

yeah, kino's my absolute favourite one as well. funny thing i've noticed about a lot of the visitors: lots of mustaches and mullets.
by comparison, lantarenvenster has loads of old people.
re. cinerama: it comes in handy at times because it does tend to have some of the bigger movies that kino doesn't show and that you'd only be able to see at pathe. and sometimes, they do screen some cool older films: saw blow out there the other day for example.
the hague has got to be the worst major city for cineville. they only have filmhuis den haag.
Definitely one of the biggest box office stories of the year. An unrated movie making it number 1 in the box office is shocking, Terrifer 3 has a definite chance of beating Joker 2 domestically (imagine writing this a month ago).
Why is there no wide release date for Anora yet? I thought it was coming out on Friday in the US, but it's super limited and their official site just says November now.
Latest trailer saying November now too. Might as well just wait for the BD now.

I watched Terrifier 2 last night. I enjoyed it and appreciate what the director and actions were doing. In comparison, I don't know how anyone can watch Terrifier 2 and then see the Smile 2 trailer and think the latter is even worthy by comparison. The little girl version of Art is scarier than any of the "smiling" people in the Smile 2 trailer.
I've ordered the 4k because I want to own it and know more about this film by hearing the directors commentary.

Only found out that this was from the same director of When Evil Lurks after watching it but it makes sense, it's very similar in terms of style.
Aterrados (Terrified) is a pretty good Argentine horror movie in the vein of Poltergeist or The Conjuring.
Quick paced, with some well executed jump scares and a ton of tension, it's definitely worth a watch.
Guillermo del Toro was trying to remake it a few years ago.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostJoker 2 is out on VOD in two weeks. They said fuck the 45 days for WBD releases, just dump it ASAP.

By s y brev Go To PostSo is this just 2024 pretty woman?I think thematically...maybe? But Sean Baker couldn't be further from Garry Marshall, who had a very specific brand of storytelling in his pictures, so Anora will likely feel a lot more grounded than anything Roberts and Gere attempted.
By Koko Go To PostInteresting local theater is getting it Nov 1, might have to do a double feature with Emilia Pérez. It's showing in Georgetown on Friday. I would totally drive down from Baltimore and spend the day down there because it's one of favorite places, but that 495 traffic on Friday afternoons into the evening is a mess. It's not worth it. I'll wait for the wider release next month.
By s y brev Go To PostSo is this just 2024 pretty woman?not really no.
it starts of this way but ends very different
also a lot more fucking, like a lot more.
I lasted nearly 40 minutes of the original Terrifier last night.
There's low budget and then there's whatever the hell that was. Looked totally ass and didn't hold my interest at all. The woman in the skeleton dress was cute though.

A truly terrible film.
Watched Alien Romulus last night... a truly mid film :( Gorgeous as you'd expect but just not very interesting or entertaining. Characters are paper thin apart from the android and Rain. One of the worst fanservice moments does unfortunately come from Andy, though.
I liked the ending. I know some people aren't fond of it but I thought it was cool.

Low budget can be great for horror, if anything make it better imo. But Terrifier... Yeah it's not one of those situations.
Run was a good surprise. A solid horror thriller about a girl confined to a wheelchair who lives isolated with her mom until the girl starts to suspect that something isn't right.
Really good performances from the mostly unknown Kiera Allen and Sarah Paulson really help keep the tension up for most scenes.
Absolutely loved the ending.

Watching Godzilla vs Biollante. Does Godzilla only harass Japan in the film canon or does he go fuck with other countries too?
I'm not talking as in a movie. Just in the Godzilla lore

Cinema listings looking pretty barren for the next few weeks. The Apprentice and Terrifer 3 (never seen any of them) both getting wide releases, and an English-language Almodovar in two weeks but not a whole lot else.
Dahomey seems interesting. Fuck France.

Godzilla lives in Monster Island which is just off the coast of Japan, man just doesn't want a longer commute
The Substance would’ve been a really cool Black Mirror episode, but at over two hours it’s out of depth. Has some standout moments, strong ideas, and I would recommend it to anybody who wants to watch a blend of The Fly, Jekyl and Hyde and Inside with a touch of Limitless.

We’ll see.
VHS Viral was shit. The magician and parallel worlds stories are decent but I hate the way they were shoot, it feels cheaper than the first two.
The "story" that wraps around the segments is so fucking bad, by far the worst part.

Margaret Qualley wishes she had a pair like that.
By C4-621 Go To PostPlease tell me that n8 and bud went to Megalopolis
it’s not out here yet.
joker: folie à deux honestly isn’t that bad. it just feels like something that could’ve been edited down to a fifteen minute youtube video; it feels like an unnecessary film to make.
gaga isn’t good enough to play off of wakeen. and that lip job looks so fucking bizarre, she doesn’t even look like herself anymore. that was genuinely the worst thing about the film for me. a better actress would’ve saved the film a tad for me, i think.
2 outta 5 stars.

Speaking of great actresses, just watched Carol for the first time. Great flick. Blanchett’s never been better. Haynes is an artist.
Despite having all the things I like in a movie (Margaret Qualley naked and body horror) I thought the substance was kind of bad.
But then the last 30 min happened and I have to say it's at least worth a watch. Also it's pretty
But the truth is it lacked substance. Get it lol
