Nightmare on Elm Street was pretty cool. The 4k version of it looks great! Wish Kruger was actually on screen more tho. But yeah as far as slashers go, definitely one of the cooler ones.
Nancy's teeth reminded me of when Vic Reeves puts his false teeth in, unfortunately. Very important thing to note.

Dario Argento's Opera was alright. Far from Argento's best but a perfectly watchable "giallo". The crows were probably may favourite part of the movie, what a bonkers sequence they have near the end.
But the actual ending was so fucking stupid.
"Oh, my friend probably just died defending me from the killer but thankfully the police caught him. Anyway, I've just decided out nowhere that I actually am not like regular people, I don't like them, I just like nature so let me hug the plants and the grass".

By Hitch Go To PostWonder if the new Venom film can possibly be worse than the last one.
Always avoided Return of the Living Dead because Tarman always looked so dumb to me so I didn't think I would vibe with it. But I loved it! A bunch of silly zombie designs but quite a few ones that looked right out of a more straight horror zombie film too. Genuinely funny at times too. The split dog!
Just having one of the women running around totally naked for 90% of the film is very 80s.

I quite liked Saw X. It's a silly franchise but the traps are entertaining and I love when Hello Zepp stars playing and you get the montage showing all the ridiculous ways they planned everything.
Giving Toby Bell more to do was the right decision, made it a bit different from the rest.
There's still some life on the franchise.

David Howard Thornton is an absolute gem. The man has been going on into stores just playing around with people.
Seeing him play with kids is so weird.
I'm loving seeing Art The Clown going so mainstream.
One of the most fucked up villains in movie history and everyone loves him, DHT just kills it (pun intended) with the role, Art has more personality than most horror villains without saying a single world.
Kind of feels like the new Freddy Kruger.
By data Go To PostTarman is one of the best looking movie monsters ever wtf
Absolutely not. But way less shit looking in the actual film than in all the low quality screens I'd seen of the film that put me off.
This is pretty much due to the fact that Zaslav hates that Warner Bros pretty much lets Eastwood do whatever as long as the budget isn't too high and very likely to do with the quality of the movie.
He is burning so many bridges with filmmakers, a long way from a few years ago when WB was one of the most filmmaker friendly studios.
It's ridiculous to do this on what is very likely Eastwood's final movie.
Terrifier 3 continues to smash expectations and a 20M$ opening weekend is pretty much in play right now.
Joker 2 is the most incredible debacle. 90% Friday to Friday drop. Somewhere in the 80% range for opening weekend to second weekend drop.
In A Violent Nature had an interesting idea but it's so fucking boring for 90% of the runtime.
I think I've seen enough footage of someone walking slowly in a forest to last me a lifetime.
Some of the kills are great, the yoga kill was the highlight.
This would have worked better as a segment in an anthology movie.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostActually watched this the other day and thought the same as you.The thing is that even after watching it, I wished I liked it more.
It's very well shot, looks great for most of the time and I love that it's trying to do something different.
I like how they shot some of the scenes with everything happening in the distance and the focus is on the killer.
But the long takes where nothing happens and the constant 2 to 3 minutes takes of the killer just walking in the woods feel so fucking pretentious.
Also some of the situations are so ridiculous, how the hell can't the victims ear a beast of the man walking in the woods just a few meters from them?
Still think it's definitely worth a watch.
Rebel Ridge is cool but I can tell right away when a brother is from the UK. They always play quiet and stoic characters cause the accent will come out if they don't, which leads to all these characters being the same dude
do they have a film pass where you lads live? you pay a monthly fee and you get to go the cinema as often as you'd like.
i got one seven months ago. best purchase i've ever made.
i've actually watched more older than newer films this way.

Just finished watching the Exorcist 3
Pretty silly at times but also freaky and eerie in a good way lol
Great performances from Brad Dourif and George C Scott who are particularly hammy

Hell House LLC Origins : The Carmichael Manor is as good as the first one, probably even better.
It doesn't do anything new but it's very efficient at creating tense situations.
There's one particular scene during a video conference that is very well done.
Definitely a return to form after the third movie where they tried to do more than they should with the budget they had.
It loses a bit of steam at the end but it's a worthy watch if you liked the previous ones.

By LFMartins86 Go To PostIt has probably the greatest jump scare of all time.Yeah that was pretty good (I had known about it beforehand), what’s clever about it is how long they stretch it out before it actually happens 😭
I forgot how much of a nothing film and experience the original Friday The 13th is. It's only 90 minutes long but feels twice that length. There are so many establishing shots of roads with vehicles just driving.

The Substance on distros lads.
Just finished. I've never really watched a body horror before and now have no desire to ever do again.
Edit: I just looked up a list of body horror films and the only one I've seen was Tusk which I was fine with so my line must be somewhere in between the two films.
