By Fergie Go To PostSalah gone then?I reckon so. Wouldn’t surprise me.
By Laboured Go To PostPepijn Lijnders and Peter Krawietz and elite development coach Vitor Matos also leaving.Welcome to Man Utd, lads.
Damn, huge loss for Batongs bois.
Klopp is immense. Alonso doing great things at Leverkusen but the pressure at Liverpool to replace someone like Klopp is gigantic. Can he handle it?
In other words, welcome to Liverpool, Jose Mourinho.

I like Klopp. when SAF retired, he was my number 1 pick for his replacement.
Shame he went to the scousers
who do the Pool lads think will come in next?

Assume his successor has already agreed to take over if they're announcing now. Although I thought that with Fergie too but then Liverpool is a competently run football club.
I'd be shocked if Klopp stayed out of management longer than a year. Definitely the kind of person who will get bored a couple of months into his 'retirement' and find something new
The fact that Lijnders is leaving to "pursue his own career in management" suggests the same to me. He wouldn't already be leaving if there was still a chance to take on the Liverpool job.

Wild to announce this during the season while they're top and battling for the league. Tell your owners, sure that's understandable. But to go public with it now seems like a risk not worth taking.
I don’t see Klopp as the Bayern type, tbh. He’s a romantic to a fault. I would say he takes a few years out, Germany national team manager after 2026 WC, win a WC or Euros and then he’ll be almost 70 and ready to retire.

Unless it was gonna break?

Actually devastating news. Pretty sad for the league too, Klopp was box office.
Guess it's time for FSG to talk to Al-Ettifaq and bring Stevie G home.

By n8 dogg Go To PostUnless it was gonna break? That's probably the case. No one trusts anyone to stay quiet anymore, so they probably figured it's best to get out in front of it and allow him to make the announcement himself.
It of course depends on the next manager, but Liverpool losing Salah and Klopp in the summer could really see them regress a fair bit. Klopp is getting more out of the current squad than anyone expected in the summer, and who knows if players like VVD will want to stick around now
I don’t know who replaces him, but I wouldn’t want to ruin Xabi’s blossoming career by throwing him into the pressure cooker that it would be trying to follow Klopp. I think the unfortunate reality is that we’ll spend the next few years jumping between managers the same way Arsenal and United did after their talismanic coaches left.

Yeah I think VVD, Salah and Alisson are all players who may be considering their futures right now.

Definitely feels like the end of an era for LFC. Scary times for fans ahead. The SO is absolutely devastated.
They need to nail the next appointment basically. Alonso really is the main prize but even then no guarantee he can make it in the PL and Liverpool will have to battle Bayern and Real for him.

Would rather just get the best candidate now if possible than worry about them wilting under the pressure and hoping there's somebody good available next time around.
Not every club will be woefully run like United.
They’ll make a good decision and managing Pool is super enticing for any accomplished manager. The squad is still great too.

Not sure anyone would have the money for the likes of Salah, VVD and Alisson, outside of Saudi. And I don't think any of that trio, even Salah, would be interested in going there.
Reckon it's much more likely that a Madrid or Barca go all in trying to tap up Trent for when his contract expires
