Say what you want about our ownership and management, but it doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same paragraph as the Cavs.
By reilo Go To Post:areyoukiddingme:I'm well aware of how the move went down. I wasn't talking about that, and even if you were it doesn't exactly demonstrate incompetence.
Only you could forget about how the Seattle move went down. Only you.
Going from nothing to a contender in less than 5 years is pretty impressive.
What blows my mind is that Seattle hasn't boycotted Starbucks or burned Howard Schultz's house down by now.

Every way I look at this series I can't see how the Cavs match up with the Warriors. It's not just that the Warriors have been historically great or that they have both a top 3 O and D or that they've also dominated the West in the playoffs. The matchups don't seem to work for Cleveland.
Who guards Curry and Thompson? They only have 1 decent perimeter defender in Shump. JR Smith and Dova are not very good. On the flip side, Curry can hide on Dova or Shump all series long while Thompson can guard Irving.
Bogut and Green vs Thompson and Mozgov? Thompson should still get O-boards but I still don't like that.
Of Course Lebron is great but the Warriors will use at least 3 decent defenders on him throughout the game in green, Iggy, Barnes and hell, even Shaun Livingston and Klay Thompson can do better than anyone in the East did not named Carroll and Butler. They can keep all their defenders fresh.
And the Cavs bench is....ugh. Are they really going to use James Jones? I don't see how this doesn't end in an epic disaster. The Cavs will obviously go "small" a bunch with bron at the 4, but this is the Warriors best lineup. Hell, they don't even have to go small, they can let Green guard him and leave Bogut in. Or they can put Iggy in for Bogut. Or a bunch of other things.
The Warriors have a counter for every lineup. the Cavs? Not so much. They can only go big with the starters unless they dare unleash Perkins (lol). And Bron guarding Curry? That's the easiest counter. Just bring in Iggy and let him run point, which he often does for this team, and now what? Hell, the Warriors may even be able to get use out of David Lee in this series.
IMO, all you have to do to stop this cleveland team is shut down everyone not named Lebron and Irving and the way to do that is to not overreact to them. They can still help in the paint. Atlanta and Chicago did not have the athletes the Warriors do. Those closeouts are much different with green, iggy, barned, thompson running at you than Pau, Millsap, Dunleavy, Korver, etc.
I'd let Irving and Lebron score 60-70 and everyone else get jack shit. If the Warriors play it intelligently, this would be the outcome.
To me, Lebron has to go supernova to carry this team in this series. And even then, it's not a guarantee. 4 times in 7 games seems...unrealistic. They just don't have the athletes, bench, or consistent supporting cast.
I'm having a hard time why one wouldn't pick the Warriors in 4 or 5 games. I feel like we'll see blowouts, too. Haven't we seen this script in 2007?

I've got Warriors in 5.
Although the way these narratives are going I can also see LeBron having a monster series, like 35/7/10 type of series and win. I feel like GS should win with ease, I mean the number two option on the Cavs is JR Smith.
Seriously... the two x-factors in this series are JR Smith and Harrison Barnes. What a time to be alive.

We want you to lose because.... WAIT, WE NOT THAT PETTY AND OUR TEAM IN THE NBA FINALS. Y'ALL ALREADY LOST BUT DON'T KNOW IT YET. GSW fans are cool but everyone else WATCH THE NBA FINALS WITH A BOX OF KLEENEX AND SOB UNCONTROLLABLY. Any Miami fans on Slaent? I want to know so I can roast the EVER LOVING FUCK OF YOU.
*Dumps gallons of water on y'all to cool off*
P.S. Cleveland fans have won already... won the right to advance to the NBA finals unlike your sorry ass team that couldn't. We have not won the title but Bron getting there is good enough. We playing with house money at this point anyway. Lose or win these Cavs are the top two teams in the league and WE THANKFUL AS SHIT.

With LeBron having descended to being 2001 AI tier, this is pretty much another version of the 2001 Finals tbh.

Cavs in 6.
Kyrie gonna show up to the battlefield like fucking Goku after being revitalized in the healing chamber after being body snatched by Ginyu.
Aint not a single dude on Golden State's roster that wont get their soul snatched by him.
Cavs can play the same up tempo offense as Ws and their small ball can match up just as well.
Key is that I believe Curry is stoppable while LeBron is unstoppable.

Not the Warriors' fault that the Kings is the only Californian team that hasn't been to the playoffs for almost a decade.

You keep thinking I'm being salty when all I'm doing is dropping truth. The Lakers at the bottom of the western conference got you all moody and shit. I actually like both teams and my head is telling me that GS is the better team and should take this but I'm going with my heart after watching what Cleveland has done this post-season.
Oh yeah, and dont forget about Delly who's gonna be passionately launching motherfucking kangaroo kicks at guys.
The 2015 NBA Finals, which begin Thursday night in Oakland, look like a compelling matchup. Our Elo ratings provisionally rate the Golden State Warriors as the third-best NBA team of all time based on their performance to date. (There’s no big secret here. A 79-18 record — that counts the playoffs — is pretty amazing against this season’s Western Conference competition.) But the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Elo rating has been rising and is at its high point for the season, 1712. Only three finals matchups started with a higher combined Elo rating, and all three involved Michael Jordan’s Bulls.
Maybe LeBron James really is good enough to overcome a middling supporting cast. But his odds aren’t great. The Cavaliers would be only about a 3-point underdog on a neutral court, according to Elo. Over a seven-game series, however — and with the Warriors having home-court advantage in a potential Game 7 — that adds up to just a 25 percent chance of the Cavs winning the series.1 (That matches the odds according to another statistical system we’ve been using to handicap the NBA.) And that may be optimistic if history is any guide.
The other thing is that underdogs have historically been bad bets in the NBA Finals. Here’s every NBA Finals matchup in history, with each team’s Elo rating going into the series and the probability Elo would have assigned to each team winning the series beforehand.

real talk though, I've been hard at work on some statistical analysis that overvalues regular season record as a whole instead of looking at the WHOLE picture, such as massive roster changes such that the cavs experienced post all-star break--points to some compelling arguments as to why the Cavs might take it

I don't see how Warriors don't win this in 5. Cavs might steal one but the matchups do not look kind to the Cavs.

Cavs did that shit against minor competitions. They wouldn't even get past the first round if they were playing in the West.
