By n8 dogg Go To PostGuess this is why Evans is playing ahead of him :grimace:
He was arrested 3 weeks ago in a state that allows instant disclosure of such things. Not that I'd ever accuse the DM of not knowing what they're doing.
Now I've calmed down a bit it's easier to look back on the game. The opening 40 minutes is the best we've played in a while. We contained Copenhagen well enough and took our two goals well.
Even after the red card and head loss we recovered and worked our way back into it. That's another positive.
But that final 20 minutes was awful. So many unenforced errors from players who should know better. Ten Hag made poor substitutions which didn't help either.
I wouldn't sack him off the back of this result. But negativity is insidious and it seeps into this squad and club very easily. I can see him getting fired or resigning soonish.

By Meier Go To PostImpressive.
Showing Allback scoring and our keeper Jesper Christiansen dribbling around Rooney in 2006. Inch of allah
Crazy to think Atiba Hutchinson only just retired this summer.
The whole team was there today. Except Ståle Solbakken who is still too angry to come to our stadium :(

By Cleff Go To PostTen Hag made poor substitutions which didn't help either. He's bad at timing his subs, but there's really nothing there to work with. AT ALL.
This team is garbage.

No Shaw + Martinez is fucking us, but it looks super fuckin bad for Ten Hag he sees no way to get Mount and Antony contributing positively.
By n8 dogg Go To PostNo Shaw + Martinez is fucking us, but it looks super fuckin bad for Ten Hag he sees no way to get Mount and Antony contributing positively. They are missed and now it all rests on the bad midfield balance we have. CBs are terrible with their feet and need constant babysitting, so an anchor is a must. But you also need a progressive passer next to him or we are never leaving our half. Bruno is our best player so we need a direct line to him and he needs to touch the ball every attack basically.
Eriksen was kinda working, but one man down eth tore the team apart by bringing amrabat on for absolutely no gain. From there it was impossible to do anything.
there's an interview with 10 hank on danish tv right now. and damn, he got that headphone dent that all the streamers got.

Amrabat wasn't any better mind, but at least he got about the place.
By inky Go To PostHe's bad at timing his subs, but there's really nothing there to work with. AT ALL.I agree with that. But some of those players are his signings too and they couldn't affect the game at all. And he isn't using others he signed either.

He deserves some slack as the way the team set up tonight was clearly correct. We breezed through the first 40 minutes. I was impressed with how we contained Copenhagen.
But the issues we have now are the same as they've been since Solkajaer's final season. Something goes against us, we panic, then concede or do something stupid then panic some more. It's seen off multiple managers again and it'll probably happen here too. Ultimately the managers aren't to blame for this. It's happened too often to be down to just that. Bug they get the blame all the same.
By Dazenheimer Go To PostEriksen ain't got the legs to last especially with a man down.I'm not disagreeing, I'm saying it was needed but that's my point. You bring Amrabat on and what changes positively?

Nice are top of Ligue Uhn rn.
Christ almighty... look where we are.
Fwiw I don't think Ten Hag should be fired. Or at least he shouldn't until some clarity is given over the ownership of the club.
It's clear that a lot of players need to be gotten rid of and a recruitment strategy put in place. None of our defenders bar Shaw or Martinez are good enough to play how any top level manager would want. Even Varane has declined sharply.
The same goes for midfield. Eriksen has the passing range, but doesn't have the athleticism to keep up anymore and neither does Casemiro. Those two are ETH signings, but both were only ever stopgaps and the latter was a club signing rather than a manager one. It doesn't excuse the lack of central midfield signing last summer but whatever. That's on the manager and Murtough.
If the stories we've read about Ratcliffe's priorities are true then it makes sense to wait until they've reviewed the squad and footballing infrastructure. Then see what changes need to be made to the squad. If they decide ETH is the problem or if he isn't the man to bring forward a new look squad then fine. We're probably out of the CL and heading towards a mid table finish. Give them 6 months to see what they can do to change the squad.
Just don't allow the Glazers to make another footballing decision.

Damnit missed the second half, sounds like it was another classic European night for the distinguished club of Manchester. Hats off to Wooden boys, they are a formidable opponent.
