switzerland is already very small and yet all our 3 nba players (Capela, Sefolosha, Kyshawn) come from the same little corner near france.
That Spurs trade of Dillingham is malpractice. Wolves might get considerably better if he's a flamethrower on offense.
Bub Carrington can't drive for shit and is an iso pull up jump shot specialist at 6'3 while being non athletic.
His ceiling is fuking lou williams with baby fat.

By Dark PhaZe Go To PostThat Spurs trade of Dillingham is malpractice. Wolves might get considerably better if he's a flamethrower on offense.People are really high on this move, so I'll be cautiously optimistic. If he's good, he definitely fills an important role as a another guy that can create and get a bucket for the Wolves. Conley is about to be 37, so he'll definitely get the opportunity to play.
Given the Wolves are contending right now, I also don't care about picks in 2031. Regardless of how the rest of the team looks at that point, Anthony Edwards will still only be 29.
Saw clips of Clingan playing as a hub out of the short roll and making passes to cutters.
He's already better than Ayton.

By jjasper Go To PostDay 2 starts at 4 ET? lol man they really did send the second round to the abyssyeah, that's why i said day 2 isn't for the fans. it's for the teams. hell, there isn't even a green room or anything. it's just being done in an espn studio.
By reilo Go To PostThe teams don't even want Day 2I think they do because it gives them some extra time to work out trades because things became much more complicated with the new apron rules.
6 months of "this draft is dog shite" and now every pick is a steal lol.
HOW DID THEY GET JOSH BRICKMAN AT 19`????

By DiPro Go To Posti know but the overreaction of "how did they get this guy, he's going to be sooo good" when people talked like you get at best a Boban at 1 for the last few months is funny.Taking Dalton at 4 is verrrry different than getting him at 17 or whatever.
By DiPro Go To Posti know but the overreaction of "how did they get this guy, he's going to be sooo good" when people talked like you get at best a Boban at 1 for the last few months is funny.I mean, there's still bad GMs that make bad decisions near the top. Risacher could be one of those picks.
But like, RE: Clingan, if Dereck Lively was a steal at 12 last year, then Lively would probably go Top 7 in a draft like this. And again, if he gets picked at his floor, calling it a "steal" isn't contradictory.
The wolves stealing Dillingham was actually kinda crazy especially considering the self sabotage the kid committed in workouts and interviews

But man is that a big IF.
By DY_nasty Go To PostThe wolves stealing Dillingham was actually kinda crazy especially considering the self sabotage the kid committed in workouts and interviewsThis was the biggest surprise for me. SAS trading out of the top 10 for 30 and 31 picks seems crazy. They must have been high on someone. My guess is Salaun and that is why Charlotte caught wind and backed out of trading down.
Man, I dunno what y'all are seeing, but do you honestly think anyone in the first round is gonna be a generational all star?

By reilo Go To PostAnd the fact they're looking for the upside swing on a rookie scale contract to succession plan for an aging Conley is actually really smartTim Connelly is pretty good at his job. Being in the second apron means the Wolves would be restricted in being able to make trades involving draft picks going forward. Unload the pick now, get a player you like at a position of need on a cheap contract, and see how he develops.
By Adam Go To PostMan, I dunno what y'all are seeing, but do you honestly think anyone in the first round is gonna be agenerational all star?Literally everyone has said noone is likely to be a generational All-Star from this draft. What are you reading?

Uhhh… pretty sure I’ve been consistently saying that Clingan was the 2nd-3rd best prospect in this draft for weeks now. Also a lot of journalists had him potentially going #1.
Do I think he’s a star? No, but I don’t think anyone is really (although someone will inevitably win the crapshoot.)

By Adam Go To PostMan, I dunno what y'all are seeing, but do you honestly think anyone in the first round is gonna be a generational all star?I don't think anyone from the last like, five drafts projected to be a generational star outside of Wemby (maybe Chet for people who were high on him). For me, to be that guy you have to be someone you'd be happy to trade two lottery picks for to move up (e.g. like the Spurs picks this year), and be pretty sure you were winning the deal (not saying the team with #1 would accept). Last ten years, of guys who actually went #1, that's only Wemby, Zion, and KAT for me (without any hindsight knowledge). Luka would be in the mix too if he had actually gone #1, but he didn't. Most guys at the top of drafts just project to be good, solid starters, and then they have surprising upside because everyone underrates ceilings for those kinds of players.
X.
The problem this year is that there were neither any of those "projectable All Star" guys, nor any really good wings which are the archetype people love now. Plus, everyone knew the highly ranked five star recruits coming into the year were subpar (which they confirmed by mostly having disastrous seasons), and a lot of the international guys sucked out of the gate too, so there was very little to hype up. The college players doing well were mostly either traditional centers (out of style), tiny guards (out of style), or older prospects having breakout years (just kind of suspicious). Topic fits a favored archetype but got injured early and then people decided he can't shoot. Risacher looked good when he was shooting over 40% from three but not so much when people looked closer. Sarr's stats looked good but a lot of people who watched him were like ehhhhh.
Combine that with last year's draft being so strong (not just Wemby living up to the hype, but like I said there were literally like 10 positive BPM rookies from that class! and I think people subconsciously included Chet as well even though he was from the 2022 class which IMO was kind of bad outside of him, Kessler, and JDub), and next year's class looking amazing... it just convinced people pretty early on that this draft was going to suck and caused people to treat prospects this year with unusual scrutiny. But IMO that's not a bad thing, I think people are being very realistic about this class and are mostly just way too hyped up about other most classes.

By DY_nasty Go To PostIt's honestly the only thing that makes senseI need to verify this rumor but apparently their GM got super frustrated when Salaün was picked so it wouldn't surprise me. Seems very stupid to me but apparently the Spurs only liked like four guys this draft lol (Risacher, Reed, Salaün, and Castle).
Oh also I think I said this earlier but I want to be clear--Topic should be Chip Engelland's easiest project ever, if he can't turn an 87% career free throw shooter with a whole year of rehab time to do nothing but practice jumpers into at least an average 3P% shooter he's washed and fraudulent.
