By reilo Go To PostIt ain't about strength, he's not bullying him in the post. He's utilizing Hakeem-level footwork and wrapping it up with a hook that would make Kareem go ???
Shaq could nudge him out by strength and size but Jokic's feet are so fucking good that he would get around him.
It's strength and skill, he moves Rudy like he's not there whenever he decides to go through his chest. You know it's coming too cause he starts dribbling the ball fast đ¤Ł. KAT has been better at holding position cause he's stronger but he bites on basically every move. They need to combine Rudy and KAT into one player.

A lot of his tricks flat out don't work on Victor due to his length / speed / recovery. But even if he doesn't, it doesn't really matter right now because dragging Wemby out of the paint is a huge win for the Nuggets offense on its own.
I think I've come around to the idea that the reason the Rudy discourse bothers me so much is not because I want to defend Rudy's skill, but because it's a continuation of the Jokic slander from a year ago where people downplayed his skills and abilities.
By talking shit about Rudy's failures it's part of the same train of thought of "Jokic can't be this good, the players guarding him are playing awful!" which is obviously not true.

By reilo Go To PostSaluan occasionally has these kinds of big games but for the most part he just sucks, I don't really understand the infatuation with him other than people are desperate for this class to have a good wing. Looks amazing in highlights when those shots are going in, but most of the time they don't. Maybe he'll be good, I don't know, but it really just feels to me like people are overrating French prospects like crazy right now.
Most people hate on Rudy because he's french and the covid thing.
He just went through Vic's chest, most everyone that had success against Vic just bullied him and hit him in the chest. Their primes/peak won't overlap unfortunately, by the time Vic is strong enough to take some of that contact Jokic will be mid 30s.

Let's be clear where my opinion on this lies - Rudy is rightly a multi-time DPOY for a reason and that hasn't changed. Even if I have a pretty damned negative opinion of him as a person.
And I fully expect the T-Wolves to still have the #1 defense next year - he's a lot of the reason why.
As far as Jokic goes, he's a 3 time MVP that should be a 4 time MVP. And he's absolutely 100% of that. Nobody's guarding that guy. And as crazy as it sounds I don't think he's even reached the ceiling of what he can be yet.
We're years away from anybody touching where he's at in any case.
By Jamal Jenkins Go To PostDraymond Green is Charles Barkley none of the likability.
He's better than Shaq, I feel like Dray takes jokes better and breaks down the game much better. All Shaq does is say "he gotta dominate" when Ernie asks him what some star needs to do to beat a particular defense.

By KimoSan Go To PostSo TNT is over? That's like official now?If all the rumors are true, then, yeah. Next season will be the final TNT season for this new round of broadcast contracts.
By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostMost people hate on Rudy because he's frJokic didn't have as much success with that in their last game. He tried it five times at the end of the fourth quarter and the results were: pass out when the double came, deflected pass that almost led to a turnover, offensive foul, block from behind, deflected pass that almost led to a turnover. No real shots at the basket, and only the first of those was really a good possession for the Nuggets. He had much more success getting off the floater off the moment he caught the ball, before Vic had time to get near him. I don't think the Spurs had a solution for that other than Wemby guarding him much more tightly which opened up the paint for everyone else. I imagine at some point Jokic will adjust how he passes to be less predictable when he has deep paint position, than Wemby will adjust back, etc. Just a kind of fascinating matchup. In some ways I almost felt like Jokic kept going at him every possession as a tune up for facing Gobert in the playoffs. He also started dunking a lot more in their last couple of matchups since his layups were getting blocked too often, which carried over to the Wolves series.

I was going off all the games more so than just the last, he made it a mission to put his shoulder in Vic's chest, that was a constant in all of them. He got blocked more than I've seen but he was well aware of the advantage he had.
At least they play in the same conference so we can see how Vic progresses and how the matchup evolves as he gets stronger
Jokic was 11-28 against Rudy as the primary defender before game 5. That was just a generational performance. He's so good that he'll probably do it again in game 6 (or 7) though.

You're not suggesting that dominating is a bad idea are you? Seems like solid advice. Go dominate, how hard could it be. Even Cube fucked around and got a triple double.
Since Donovan is likely to leave anyway, wouldn't the Cavs best bet be to take the Miami package (Herro, Jaquez, Jovic) and just be mid for a few years figuring out if any of those guys + Mobley will pan out?
By reilo Go To PostTrash package from a year ago is a trash package a year later
I don't think you want to trade him for *just* picks, given that the Cavs gave up 5 1sts to get him and any team he goes to will probably be top 4 in their conference. What are the alternatives? Ingram? Giddey? Bridges (or a combo of Nets' youth)? Franz? Reaves/D'Lo? Paul George? D Murray?

The Rudy narrative pushed by some is pretty lazy. Sometimes the best player in the league just does MVP stuff and there's not much you can do.
Pretty proud of the season the Wolves had, though. They're up against the apron, but if they can find a backup point guard and upgrade from Kyle Anderson, they should be just as good next year.

All the picks they traded go get him are unprotected, they'll be worse than mid trading him. Their best bet is resign Mitchell and trade Allen and Garland.
Danny Ainge played them perfectly

Cavs President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman âadmonishedâ head coach J.B. Bickerstaff for playing Donovan Mitchell too many minutes during an overtime win over the Houston Rockets in December.
Bickerstaffâs job status is now in âserious jeopardy.â
Mitchell and other players on the team âdid not have great confidence in Bickerstaffâ and questioned his strategies, game management, practice habits and accountability measures both publicly and privately.
Jarrett Allenâs absence due to bruised ribs the last two weeks caused frustration within the organization toward him, with some upset he wouldnât take an injection to help numb his pain.
There are ongoing questions regarding Allenâs fit with Evan Mobley and Mitchellâs fit with Darius Garland.
Garlandâs representation would have a conversation with the Cavs about potentially trading him if Mitchell signs a long-term deal with Cleveland this summer.
Mitchell wanted the franchise to aim higher than winning a first-round playoff series this season but could still sign a long-term extension this summer. If he doesnât, the Cavs would have to consider trading the five-time All-Star.
Mobleyâs representation asked Cleveland not to draft him in 2021 in hopes of facilitating a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Cavs have spent the past three seasons prioritizing winning over Mobleyâs personal development as a player.
Veteran Cavs players grew upset over Bickerstaff treating them as if they are a young team.
Mitchellâs workload played a role in him declining an invitation from USA Basketball last summer, which hurt his chances of being selected to the Olympic team this year.
Players were upset Cleveland seemingly tanked its regular-season finale to avoid facing the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs.
Members of the Cavs organization believed Bickerstaff made comments praising the Celtics as an âunfavorable comparisonâ to his own team during the second-round series.
The Utah Jazz are reportedly interested in selecting Bronny James with the 32nd overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft, according to Krysten Peek of Yahoo Sports.
if Jazz really want bronny that bad then I guess fair is fair.
Best of luck in salt lake Bronny.
