By Sharp Go To PostMitchell was cooking last series too…
Let's be honest, no one watches the NBA tv first round games.
By Sharp Go To PostMitchell was cooking last series too…The Analysts said that the Celtics would be able to keep him in check since they're better than Orlando, which was a series that required 7 games to oust them.

K N I C K S going to the finals unless they all get injured
We are all injured. I think even Leon rose is on the injured list
By joefu Go To PostI have no idea what happened to Exum lol. Dude fell off and not like he had an injury or anything.Hasn't been this like by far his best year?
By Sharp Go To PostHasn't been this like by far his best year?Yeah, he was amazing during the regular season, been pure trash in the playoffs.
By reilo Go To PostDo you know what "they're winning the non-shooting factors" means? It means if shooting is even close, Boston wins. He is just repeating that you must outshoot Boston (usually significantly) to have a chance of winning.
Dean Oliver? How dare he?
Alternate take:
SHOOKtics just chuck and chuck until they go in
Porzingus helped because he was in the post but yeah they die by the 3 a lot
lol Jaylen, White and Jrue were 1-16 from 3
Add in Tatum and Horford and they’re 6-28
Teams should just play high zone against them and they’ll chuck contested 3’s

By friskySHOOKface Go To PostSHOOKtics just chuck and chuck until they go inBoth teams have been trying zone against them all playoffs and this is the only night they've shot below 37.5%. I promise you it's not some genius strategy to have them shoot a lot of threes, it's just gambling with bad odds.

That's all I've been saying all along.
By reilo Go To PostI read it rather you take away their threes because their counter punch doesn't do anything. That's all I've been saying all along.Team try to sell out on threes and force them into the paint all the time, it's why they also had the second best 2P% in the league this season and one of the reasons they keep winning the nonshooting factors. I've gone over this so many times and I am not sure if you're actually reading what I'm saying--they are good at basically everything, not just shooting threes. That's why you have to outshoot them to win, and no team in the East can do that in a sustainable way. There is no strategy they can employ that will change that fact.
By joefu Go To PostLuka's first quarter adrenaline rush is gone, Mavs losing this now lol.nah mavs got this
By reilo Go To PostI'm sure the same could be said of the Harden Rockets in '17-18You would be very wrong, the '17-'18 Rockets took threes at the rate the Celtics do but were like league average in efficiency and were not really good at anything else except drawing fouls, not fouling, and defensive rebounding. They were nowhere close to the Celtics and relatively easy to outshoot sustainably.

By reilo Go To Post1st in OrtgThe four factors are eFG%, ORB%, TOV%, and FT/FGA (self and opposing). The Rockets were not particularly good at any of these except opponent ORB%, eFG%, and FT/FGA on both ends. The eFG% was entirely driven by taking way more threes than everyone else (and the 2P% elevated when people sold out to stop them, just like the Celtics), but that only worked because most teams hadn't optimized their defense yet like they have now. Modern teams would have just let them shoot because they're not that efficient on threes compared to twos, which is also how they lost in the playoffs. To compensate, the Rockets would have had to reduce the number of threes they took to be an efficient modern offense (improving their 3P% in the process). That's pretty much where teams are now. The difference with the Celtics is that they are elite at both 3P% and 3PA, so you can't actually do that against them and survive. Teams let them take the fewest 3PA they can before the Celtics' eFG% on twos becomes higher than their eFG% on threes, it just so happens that they are such elite shooters that ends up being 43 threes a night.

By diehard Go To Postwho was the poster that got super offended every time I called the Rockets a "3 or die" team?
did they die
By diehard Go To Postwho was the poster that got super offended every time I called the Rockets a "3 or die" team?I dunno but that's literally what they were... they were basically the equivalent offensively of if the 2023-24 Heat randomly decided to start chucking 43 threes a night. They would be a playin team in the modern NBA.

Highest +- among starters tonight. PJ second.
I'm happy, DY's happy, why aren't you happy?

There's no proof PJ shot up a 7/11.
