By Sharp Go To PostAgain, not saying Ham is an amazing coach, but…Ham was incapable of doing basic stuff stop caping for that idiot
Roster construction > coaching for the most part (as long as you get basic stuff right like actually playing your best players high minutes in the correct positions, which playoff teams usually do).
Indiana are fucking fools if they don’t wrap this up. Genuinely gift wrapped to them and they’re letting Portis and Beverley beat them ffs.

Gonna miss this with TNT loses the rights to NBC.
He's right, but I wouldn't say the Lakers "suck" per se, more that they're a pretty good team going up against the defending champs- and just about every time the game started to matter they got stepped on. Which frankly is them overachieving.
But let's just fire the coach every 2 years you don't win a title going back forever on every team Lebron has ever been on. And then blow your entire future draft capital on another star in the offseason and break the team's depth yet again to appease a guy that's now 39 years old. It made tons of sense 5 years ago. Now I figure he's got what, 3 more years before he's done max?
I get that those jersey sales and TV endorsements the guy brings in are big money. Lebron should definitely be top 5 all time without argument too but let's not pretend he's THAT DUDE any more. Because he's not.

Barkley was saying the entire second half of the year that the Suns, Lakers, and Warriors weren't gonna do shit this year, and has been non-stop telling people (esp Laker fans) to stop being goofy about blaming everything on Westbrook. At some point if you're not winning a ton of games when your two best guys are healthy, the problem is your two best guys aren't good enough.
Lakers and Suns had career years from D'Lo, Reaves, and Allen (and a resurgent year from Nurkic), which are normally the kind of things coaches get rewarded for.
If the Heat were willing to move on from Wade and Shaq and Lebron cleanly, I don't think they're going to trip over themselves trying to appease Butler.

Solo led Bam team would be hilarious
I think if they strike out on Donovan, Dame or even Wiggins they don’t pay Jimmy

By domino Go To PostI think the number might actually be zero lol. The league needs to save the Suns from themselves, half the moves they made this offseason should have been vetoed by Silver for basketball reasons.
real big brain
By reilo Go To PostI can't get over him saying "our draft picks"Between their four "first rounders" that are going to end up in the mid to late 20s every year, and Boston's 2028 second which will probably be like 50s, they are almost at one draft pick per year for seven years. Now imagine if instead of turning into 1-2 rotation players like you'd normally expect out of that set of picks, his super awesome scouting department that he poured a lot of money into finds five stars. Who's laughing now?
Seriously, WHAT DRAFT PICKS?????!
By jjasper Go To PostGonna miss this with TNT loses the rights to NBC.Barkley was saying that they all have opt outs if/when TNT loses the NBA and there's reports that Inside will just transfer networks.
And I do hope NBC gets the rights because I just want the league to be on free TV more and the proposed NBC deal will apparently get the league two games a week on broadcast TV. Hard to beat that.
By reilo Go To PostIt's his job to know! I know, and I'm not even a Suns fan!it is?
By DY_nasty Go To Postthey have nassir little you all sound so fucking dumb rnRealistically after a few years of going nowhere and Ishbia learning his lesson, they probably trade Booker for a haul and sort of get out of this mess. I don't fault him for trying and I appreciate that he seems willing to spend on facilities and development and not just big name players, I just feel bad for the FO and wish they were given something to work with. Am also concerned that after not seeing the results he wants he says fuck it and just decides to fire everyone and spend the minimum possible until he can entice someone else to buy the team from him.

Really sucks he hasn’t been able to figure it out at the NBA level. But being chronically injured will do that to you 🥲

Since I'm bored, I'll introduce my new stat just for slaent, the "3P% merchant" stat. Simply put, this metric determines whether a team is a fraud that couldn't have won if they shot at most 30% from three (i.e. Westbrook's career average, which obviously is what you should expect from regular season choking teams regardless of how well they shot in the regular season) and their opponent shot at least 40% (to factor in the playoff risers, Spo adjustment, etc.). To do this, we just adjust each team's 3P% to the min of their actual 3P% and 30%, and their opponent's 3P% to the max of their actual 3P% and 40%. Then, we use this to find their true, non fraudulent, 3P% merchant adjusted net rating.
Strangely (since real contenders should obviously do well in this metric), it would appear that only one team is clearly not fraudulent after round 1, the Wolves. The Mavs are barely non fraudulent, but their series is not yet over so they still have time to become frauds. The Celtics are barely fraudulent, but still frauds obviously. Unfortunately, every other team is extremely fraudulent, including the Nuggets and every other team in the East, so it looks like those are the only three teams capable of winning a championship this year.
(As a sanity check, we can see that the most fraudulent team is the Suns, which proves this metric is true and accurate).

SBJ says Ernie would likely stay at TNT if the NBA rights went to a different network. He has the NCAA and MLB duties too.
