Spurs have the most selfish players around Victor. This is like if the Cavs didn't trade Miles, Davis and all those bums Bron was playing with.

Just when he doesn't get it their strategy looks dumb as hell and I don't think most of them are talented enough to read the court and adjust on the fly.

They kept missing him open in the lane, not sure that's part of the gameplan. Before that last putback he had he did that thing where he keeps his hands up after the pass didn't go to him on an open cut, my guy is clearly frustrated with it.

even mason plumlee wouldn't put up with that shit lol
By DY_nasty Go To Postthey get him the ball when its convenient for themI'm saying I don't think it's deliberate, I just think the Spurs collectively have basically negative basketball IQ outside of Tre Jones and Wemby. Like I don't think they're actually capable of finding him when he's open without just forcing the ball to him every possession.

I said much the same thing about AD when he was young and hadn't yet proven that he couldn't be a #1. He still never learned to do it and just has to be spoonfed and rely on picking up the garbage.
By Kibner Go To PostAnd that is where Wemby has to learn how to motivate his teammates to forcefeed him the ball when he calls for it.With all due respect to AD, Wemby already has a higher usage rate this year than AD did all but one year of his career. His issue is not that the team won't pass to him, it's that most of the players on the Spurs basically have two modes: never passing, or passing to him every possession regardless of how covered he is. I don't think that can be fixed with "motivation."

for it to continue this far into the season? these guys have not course corrected at all
the numbers part of it is kinda whatever - they're actively going against the grain to avoid easy plays

Even my nephew got injured, high ankle sprain, he wont be doing track this spring as he recovers. We're gonna do a ton of form shooting and freethrows until he can run again :(

THIS first quarter is how Ayton should be choosing his shot diet. He's actually rolling, getting to the rim, and setting good screens.

By reilo Go To PostRefs REAL bad on both sides right nowI just got in from a road trip and just keep hearing the crowd boo ref calls. lol
By reilo Go To PostCamara good defensively
Adding to this. Was my biggest concern with him beginning in the season but him finding some offensive juice makes me much more hopeful of his longterm fit and role.
By reilo Go To PostThese refs are gahbageInadvertent whistle while Ayton was shooting the ball which resulted in a putback dunk that didn't count because the whistle was deemed a dead ball.
Waving off points because a ref made a mistake is truly chef's kiss.

I thought Wallace was an average shooter coming out of college? Or am I thinking of someone else. Probably doesn't hurt he's getting a lot of open looks with the rest of that team.
By pilonv1 Go To PostI thought Wallace was an average shooter coming out of college? Or am I thinking of someone else. Probably doesn't hurt he's getting a lot of open looks with the rest of that team. This is about how they're shooting this year. Lu Dort shot 30% in college for example (Wallace about 34%). Whether it's Chip (probably) or someone else at OKC, their shooting development has been top tier (they do have great spacing but a lot of that is because of how well everyone is shooting).
