By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostChet is what the media was hyping up Mobley as.It is a little strange that people were so high on the shooting coming around for a dude who shot one three per game and 70% from the line, but even for a rim running big his offensive RAPM is shockingly bad. Like almost to the point that it negates his defense. I don't watch enough Cavs games to know why, I want to say because he's a natural center on offense and messes up spacing when he plays with Jarrett Allen but apparently his net rating is even worse at C this year?
Garland is one of the softest, most movable lead guards in the league
Those bigs cater to him when it should be the other way around

By diehard Go To Post"they" were comparing Mobley to KGI get the KG comp (kinda? I mean at least defensively I understand it), but people were definitely going beyond that. I had multiple arguments before the 2023 draft with people who said his shooting was comparable to Wemby's and that was after we had several years of him clearly demonstrating he could not shoot.

Just saying that if your entire gateway to NBA offense relies on Garland table-setting and guiding your actions, then you're basically screwed.
Like two years ago Garland was really, really developing well but dude just doesn't have the coach he needs to get over his skiddish bullshit when things get more physical.
By friskySHOOKface Go To PostLakers should be up 10+Thunder force the second-most turnovers in the league, I feel like half their roster is "hustle" guys (except for some reason all their hustle guys shoot 40% from three lol).
15 turnovers lol
Jaxson Hayes is such an insane athlete, I see why he keeps getting chances from teams that should know better.
By friskySHOOKface Go To PostWarriors or Lakers pushing the Thunder to 7I honestly think they could make the finals if they can get past Denver. Rebounding historically matters for contention, but historically teams weren't shooting literally 40% from three for an entire season. You basically can't double when their non-Giddey lineups are on the floor and if you try to help Shai will kill you in the paint. And they have a top 5 defense that isn't overly reliant on any one player. Yeah they look bad and drop games here and there but beating them in a series is going to be incredibly hard. I feel like people are drastically underestimating them just because they're young when they don't play like a young team.
Probably beating them

I think the Lakers would little bro them in a series, they have just too many big wings for such a small team to really mess with, especially if Vanderbilt can come back. That's not a good matchup for the Thunder, too much experience, and too many big bodies.

By pilonv1 Go To PostHe'll be awesome in Europe, just doesn't meet the NBA's height limit.
Thunder not being able to rebound against big teams + no playoff whistles for Shai + universal Laker whistle would make that the most heartbreaking series to watch if you're an OKC fan.
By reilo Go To PostReed Sheppard at five and Risacher at one is way closer to making sense to me than where they were ranked previously lol.
NBA media wasting no time pondering how patient Wemby will be being on a bad team. This is a low even for them.
@Bricks a few words in this article about what Vinson has done with Herb to help improve his shot. I assume you have already been doing all this with your nephew: https://theathletic.com/5314614/2024/03/05/herb-jones-pelicans-offense-stats/
Vinson stressed to Jones the need to have a more consistent base when setting up to shoot, ensuring Jones wouldn’t lean forward or backward while letting the ball go. He moved Jones’ release point to above the head instead of pushing forward from the chest. Vinson also drilled Jones on keeping the ball on the left side of his body when he shot instead of bringing it over from the right side, something Vinson also did to help Ball eliminate the hitch in his shot.

This is a low even for them.I mean he probably is frustrated about playing so many minutes with basketball terrorists, we know Brandon Miller was lol. But like we talked about earlier there's not really much they can do about it in the short term, considering they need an upgrade at basically every single position. Even if they hit on every single draft pick and traded for a star and Wemby has a LeBron year 2 leap (this part is probable TBH but I'm including it for completeness), I find it hard to imagine them being anything but a fringe play in team next season, and that's the super optimistic case.

I’ve heard the French are assholes so no better place than NY.
Frank was loved here. So was Fournier. We respect our Frenchmen cuz they fit in so well

By reilo Go To PostClearly he should demand a trade to a middling big market nowIMO the only realistic LeGM move available to him (but I doubt he'd do it) would be to get Pop fired, which would be kind of funny and probably improve the team.
Gonna get so many wide open 3’s when they double Jimmy in the playoffs
Dunno why teams do it but I’m not a coach
Everyone would rather give up open 3’s than contested 2’s

Good looks, I never really thought of the whole left vs right side, but KD brings the ball up on his left side too. We did some base work to get his feet right before, he was kicking his feet out for no reason on shots and drifting before the season. His biggest issue is elbow out, his form looks really good on video but if you watch it you'll see his elbow is out on most jumpers. He was awful at shooting freethrows this year, but I figured out the biggest reason outside of his elbow, it's that he double dips. So he gets ready, does his routine with his knees bent, then he dips even lower. I'm going to copy Caitlin Clark's routine for him, which is keep the ball moving from the point you get it to the point you shoot it so it's more natural, she dips but it's like she's taking a normal shot.

Yeah so far I just stress form shooting a lot for him, before games he would work on his freethrows and do form shooting with his coach which was pretty cool. Now as he's getting bigger & older we can break down his mechanics more since he doesn't have to heave to shoot. This summer is gonna be about dribbling, playing off two feet and shooting. I got it all planned out for him, right down to him playing 5 on 5 with me this summer against men

She literally said none of that, gjge
They didn't say it but they're already starting the clock talk on the Spurs. All speculation on how patient the kid may or may not be just to get big market fans foaming at the mouth. ESPN knows what it's doing.
They stopped with the dumb lineups, feel like they'd have another 10-12 wins if they had just started Tre Jones from jump. I don't know what people want them to do in the offseason, I wouldn't trade for Trae if I were them, and there's not many free agents. They'll probably be a lottery team next year.
