Gotta get the most out of kawhi and pg before they take off the second half of the season
Even if you’re up nearly 30 on a team who looks like they’ll break the Bobcats record

Breen: Ingram trailing, receives the pass for the wide open three...
Breen: Oh my, he takes three more dribbles
Breen: Steps into the 18 footer

By reilo Go To PostBreen: Ingram trailing, receives the pass for the wide open three…Yup. That’s the biggest thing I was upset with last night. Passing up open 3s and taking early shot clock middies by Ingram. Everyone else mostly did their role as they should have, imo.

With that being said, this was nice to see:

You really gonna hate on a 19 year old kid living out his dream on the first night? Come on, man...
Really though, I could tell Scoot was kinda overwhelmed by the whole experience last night, and that's absolutely 100% OK.
This Blazers team is very bad, but also there's 2-3 kids that could be legit stars and 3-5 of them off the bench that are almost certainly going to be rotation guys which hasn't happened since... I don't know when. The last second round pick or even late first that was worth a damn was Gary Trent Jr.
Only thing I'm kinda mad about is Ayton having a way rougher night than he should have- but then he kinda strikes me as a follow the vibes guy instead of a set the vibes guy. Hopefully he proves me wrong about that.
Shaedon has come a LONG way since last year. Still needs to work on his handle but he's actually reading the flow of the game now. Hopefully Scoot catches up in relatively short order.

some guys are just more comfortable taking mid range shots...for some reason. Tobias drives me nuts with this
By knux-future Go To Postsome guys are just more comfortable taking mid range shots…for some reason. Tobias drives me nuts with thisI think it's okay to mix your game with some midrange but some dudes hunt the midrange when they have a wide open three like in the clip above. It's super detrimental to winning games nowadays. Even KD does this shit and he's literally one of the best three-point shooters of all time.
By Smokey Go To PostI lived through AntoniYou had CP3 and Westbrook during that span taking a fuckton of midrange jumpshots. It didn't work out so well.
I would’ve killed for a mid range shot
By Sharp Go To PostThey all pretty much played like I expected minus the foul trouble from Wemby. Are we rating them compared to expectations, or compared to each other?
Relative to expectations. After all, Scust is a top 100 player according to ESPN, is he not?
By reilo Go To PostDon't pay attention to Adam he's just trying to stir the pot to distract us from the fact he'll have Westbrook and Harden on his team
Nope, no Larden.
By Smokey Go To PostWatched the condensed game of Clippers v Blazers, and the Clippers having those guys on the floor and finish a game was definitely Adam’s championship. Kawhi looked to be already laboring on fast breaks .
Smokey plz.

I don’t count the YNOT years. I’m talking about the run with CP3. They definitely were not taking middys when available like they should’ve.
By Christberg Go To PostYou really gonna hateyes
Haha fuck you...
If the potentially flagrant foul that we missed didn't happen it would have been a flop…
By Adam Go To PostRelative to expectations. After all, Scust is a top 100 player according to ESPN, is he not?Anyone whose expectations for rookies are based on what ESPN said about them and not how they actually played before their first season is just looking to hate. Most rookies are negative players, most teenagers are negative players, most young point guards are negative players. I'm honestly not sure when the last point guard prospect came in and was positive out of the gate, I think even Luka and Ja weren't. Maybe it was Ben Simmons lol (who wasn't a true rookie). The only rookies I expect to be positive this year are Wemby and Chet, and Chet is also a fake rookie; some others will inevitably be positive as well but it's hard to predict who in advance.

“Yea it was a foul, but if it wasn’t a foul, it should be a technical”
The L2M victim blaming now instead of just saying “yeah it was a foul but we had to make sure team a won, and calling that foul could’ve jeopardized that outcome.”
By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostBulls had a players only meeting after game 1 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Honestly it doesn't seem too bad to me, people often praise coaches for taking timeouts like two minutes into the game if they see something they don't like instead of letting things get out of hand. I guess this is an attempt to do the same thing.
Heat should try to get Zach or Vuc
Lowry + Duncan + picks
Gotta try to low ball 😎
Or maybe Bulls want Tobias for Derozan
Might as well try something new

It's what the broadcasters get and the NBA as well for scheduling the same 4 teams every other night for national games.

Why is harden like this 😂
Harden and/or his agent played themselves. Let him sit his ass down and lessen his value.
By You got 14 bricks right there? Almost every team played yesterday and somehow Sixers/Bucks are making their debuts for first time tonight.

I mean I am pretty sure you have to break up the team at that point.

I am sure at the next TV contract they will find a way to make it worse.

What's the NBA season without some ribbing?
No one (even at ESPN) expects rookies to be transcendent.
Tbf tho, Scust's G-league stats were pretty mid.
By Adam Go To PostWhat's the NBA season without some ribbing?Scoot definitely has more red flags than the other top 5 prospects, which is something I've been saying for a while, but I still think he was a good lottery pick. The G league is really hard compared to any college conference, and that Ignite team is usually godawful. Barely any prospects coming out of it have had good stats. The problem is that people created unrealistic expectations for his rookie season by saying things like "he would be a number one pick in any other draft" or "he was dominating the G league as an 18 year old," and then when he didn't go second just clowning on the Hornets instead of acknowledging he didn't have the kind of year people were hoping for leading up the draft. The constant overhyping of prospects like that also makes people cynical as hell when an actual generational guy like Victor or Cam Boozer comes around...

By DY_nasty Go To PostI wouldn't trip on one game either way. LaMelo had a whole donut I think.I agree in general you shouldn't read too much into one game, but I feel like that donut had more to do with LaMelo only playing 16 minutes off the bench...
I think if the NBA can effectively market its young stars, load management of the old guys won't be as big of a deal ratings-wise. Having a lot of competitive teams this year (at least on paper) should also help.
By Sharp Go To PostYea but their young stars play for San Antonio, Memphis, New Orleans, Dallas, Orlando, and Denver. You best bet that they're gonna demand those young stars move to an LA, NY, or Miami first!

Who knew the league would be more exciting when teams not from Texas, California or with LeBron have a shot at winning.
As a hater I need to acknowledge Adam had a really strong opening night, I'll need to step my game up

the NBA will be forced to investigate why Harden isn't playing under their new rules.
