Pistons down so bad that sub is calling for them to just run the offense through James Wiseman since no one else seems to give a shit anyway

"Oak Hills Christian College received 126 undergraduate applications in 2020. There were 94 students enrolled at Oak Hills Christian College in 2021."
They probably just assembled 12 kids together and called them a basketball team. Why a D1 school is playing them, I have no idea.

Incidentally, the final was 108-14. Oak Hill shot 6-49 overall, 1-20 from 3.

Not sure how they ended up playing a D1 school either. Here's their made buckets
fffuuuuccckkk what an annoying loss. one or two clumsy as fuck turnovers down the stretch. Frustrating as hell, that one.
Might be a hot take, but I'm coming around to the idea that the Wolves might be good. With McDaniels coming back, Finch has seemingly made the decision that Shake is out of the rotation and they're still pretty good with Slo Mo and NAW on backup point guard duties.
They have a nine man rotation and the worst guy in it is probably Troy Brown, who doesn't even suck. Was Tim Connelly actually playing 4D chess the whole time?

By Rob Go To PostI dont think its a hot take to say the team tied for the best record in the league is goodI just keep waiting for the bottom to fall out, but it hasn't. In consecutive games, they largely kept in check two of the best offenses in the league.
Miami tomorrow might be a good test, but Jimmy Butler is a bitch and probably won't play.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostI don’t trust a team with Rudy. The Gobert-Towns pairing has actually been very successful this year. They're plus 10.1 per-100 when they're both out there, probably because Towns is a willing passer (he leads the team in lobs to Rudy, I believe) and Towns and Edwards both attract so much attention.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostI don’t trust a team with Rudy.Rudy wasn't really the problem. Utah's defense was ass and he got blamed for not being able to guard 5 people.
Timberwolves gave up a kings ransom and lost to the eventual champions.
Cavs gave up a kings ransom and lost to the Knicks in the first round despite being the favorites.

Utah's defense was ass and he got blamed for not being able to guard 5 people. The Wolves defense isn't just built around Rudy stopping everything, and unlike the last couple years, Finch isn't relying on gimmicks. All of the wings are good to great defenders, Conley can still generally keep up, and Towns has been totally fine.

What they're doing seems sustainable and shouldn't burn out Rudy before the playoffs. I still feel like they have a lot of room to grow offensively, too.
By DY_nasty Go To PostRudy has been playing great. I can't stand him either. His back issues were also probably underreported. He's moving differently this season.
By reilo Go To PostHis back issues were also probably underreported. He's moving differently this season.France not advancing in the World Cup was also good for him and limited his minutes over the summer.
In terms of the roster, the biggest difference is that they got rid of D'Angelo Russell, who was actively hurting Gobert's play last year on both ends.
Yeah, makes sense really.
Not thrilled about the Blazers going back to these 3 guard lineups. It works when it’s Thybulle but that Brogdon/Sharpe/Simons lineup is AWFUL on defense as expected.
I was against trading Brogdon but man… too small.

By Christberg Go To PostYeah, makes sense really.Brogdon's cool to have in the short term to help shepherd Scoot and even Sharpe along but when all four with Simons are healthy there just isn't enough touches and Brogdon's skillset / offensive needs overlap with the other three. Sharpe suffers the most as he doesn't get as many opportunities to be the secondary off-ball creator.

Yeah, that’s kinda where I’m at with it. Too many cooks, not enough kitchen, need a bigger refrigerator too. Wanted them to bring Scoot along more slowly and spend more G-League time this season because of it (and I wanted Simons to get the team keys 100%) but I get the reasoning why that’s not happening.

He's getting enough reps against quality starters and he certainly doesn't look completely out of his depth.
