Only a couple of hours in but I kinda wish they'd just picked one of Miles and Peter to be the main character. Subtitles are a mess. Having not played or watched the Miles expansion, or reminded myself of what happened in the first game, a lot of things are going over my head regarding who knows what about whose identity and the basic state of things. Vaguely recall that the first game made it pretty clear that Harry is all kinds of fucked up, but he's just waltzed in like it's nothing.
Hoping that the combat options come back to me, as usual when I get given all the abilities from that start that I ended the last game with, I barely use any of them.
Turned down swing assistance, not for me. Can't see the benefits outweighing the amount of time that I'd have to put into adapting to it. Keep swinging back towards the camera for some reason out of nowhere when there's clearly a building ahead that I should be able to latch onto. Reckon I'll end up wishing that they'd left abilities tied to the suits, not sure if I have more ability/upgrade trees to unlock though.

These photo ops feel like they're designed to get under my skin given my dislike of New Yorkers banging on about New York
Can't remember the last time I played a superhero game without character profiles, and this could have done with it.

Every fucker in this is so relentlessly positive that it just obliterates any sense of tension and basic interest in what's going on in the side missions.
The main story, combat and swinging are just about decent enough to keep me engaged. I miss prime Rocksteady. Feel like I'm living on another planet with the way Sony's first-party sequels have been reviewing recently.

Almost at the end of this (I assume), thoughts are it's fun like the 1st one, the web wings add a lot to the traversal and the new Venom powers are really cool. Story is a bit all over the place, too many walk and talk sections and I don't really enjoy fighting the symbiotes, but some of the side missions are quite good tho.
7/10 just like the first one imo, some slight improvements, but you could easily see this as DLC lol

DLC really? Don’t see it at all. Between the big differences in traversal, two playable and different characters, city twice as big, along with the visual improvements and sheer scale of the set pieces it sounds ridiculous to me to look at this as DLC.
Would like to know which DLC are you using as reference point for this comparison. Mind you I would give the game an 8 so it’s not like we are far apart here.
