immense win
Jesus injured? please não
We'll never cure cancer. It's too profitable to just let it hang around. We need to divert those efforts towards hamstrings. Protecting, healing or even outright replacing. Everything needs to be on the table to stop this epidemic in sport.
Proud of the lads today. Everyone did their part, and Tomi did really well.
Rice will have to be our captain next season.

Feel like it's another instance of giving up on the football he actually wants to play in order to scrape some results against bad teams and buy him some time.
Quickly gave up on passing from the back at the start of last season, and now putting McTominay in is basically trading quality in midfield (not that there's much with the alternatives) for the odd goal and hoping it works in his favour. Last two games he's got away with it, can't see it working much longer.
Personally think that Guardiola is the only idealogue who truly makes it work, and that's in a position where everything around him has been bought and built well in advance of his arrival to give him the platform for it. Everyone else has to adapt or they're fucked, so I think ETH is probably right to do it but they'll never really get anywhere with runs of shite form followed by temporary fixes. Especially since I don't expect those fixes to work at all against any half-decent team.

I actually think Mount has been pretty good when he has played, and is far from our biggest problem.
As far as I read it, the problems are:
1. Trying to bed in a new goalkeeper who is noted for his proactive play in possession while…
2. Your two defenders most comfortable in possession (Shaw and Martinez) are injured.
3. That then impacts the side of the pitch where we are usually at our most effective, with Shaw’s ballcarrying, relationship with Rashford, and his ability to act as covering CB and wide outlet makes up most of our attacking play. Add to that the lack of Martinez’s ballplaying and ability to step into midfield and provide a high line, as well as the loss of Wan-Bissaka’s recovery pace on the right, and it’s a shambles of a defensive situation.
4. Varane is outstanding, but now lacks the attributes to play such a high line, and is not quite so calm under pressure for Onana to use as an outlet. Onana also can’t use Lindelof/Reguilon/Evans/Maguire the same way. This issue would be slightly rectified if either Shaw OR Martinez were in the side. Having both out massively impacts how we play.
5. Casemiro’s lack of availability is one thing; his drastic drop-off in quality is another, and is indicative of the short-termism that runs through the club. He is susceptible to a press, isn’t particularly capable of doing it himself, and while he was individually very good last year, he also benefitted from the presence of Martinez/Shaw behind him, and Ten Hag being far more pragmatic than expected given the nightmare start, playing a deeper line and getting Rashford out and on the break. We actually played a lot like Ole’s United last year.
6. Antony is a big fat zero in attack. Can press, can carry the ball, but offers almost nothing from a penetrative aspect.
7. Hojlund gets no service because our wide forwards are preoccupied with getting their own shot away rather than acting as provider
I could go in but I’m going out lol
Mount is a good signing in my eyes; good age, good player, tactically versatile, able to press in the way the manager wants. Problem is that we don’t currently have the set up to play the way Ten Hag wants, so he is throwing McTom in and embracing chaos ball. Not a good sign.
The injuries weren't really an issue at the start of the season and you were...less than convincing.
I think it's fair to point out that because the narrative i've seen has largely been around injuries (which I think is fair tbh, your back line has been shockingly bad...although at this point i think it's also fair to ask questions of the club regarding injuries), but there was a window at the beginning with some easy fixtures to show what the idea was for this season.

Sounds like Tonali is going to be able to train with the team during his ban, that is absolutely huge for the overall impact of the ban...if it's true
By Laboured Go To PostToney is able to train isn't he? And play in behind closed doors games? He wasn't able to train initially (or play in behind closed doors games), no. I can't remember how long for, but it was for the first 3/4 months iirc. I don't think we was even allowed to actually be at the training ground.
That part of the bans seems mental to me, I'm not sure what that achieves.

I mean idk the exact factual context but "UK police can't charge him until he steps on Spanish soil" sounds profoundly legally suspect to me.
