I just find it mental that the game restarted before the var could tell Hooper to pause, and that once it had restarted it couldn't be pulled back for them to clear it up. If that's the rule, it needs to not be even if you could only expect it to happen once a decade. Looking stupid before coming to the right decision is infinitely better than what actually happened.
Referring in the EPL has gotten way too convoluted. First they go with this “let it flow” philosophy and then they go about giving yellows for holding onto the ball for “too long” during throw ins.

Fuck that shit
The yellow for waving the imaginary card is the most hilarious thing to me. People get so irrationally angry about it. Players appeal for all kinds of decisions on the pitch. Just ignore them ref. Or start booking people for penalty, handball, free kick, throwing, corner kick appeals too.
You also don't get carded for appealing for a red card either, in denying a goalscoring opportunity situations etc.

By Dazenheimer Go To PostTook Arteta like 3 years to get Arsenal going in the direction they are. 8th, 8th, 5th. Finish inhis first three seasons. It wasn't just Rashford. There's a loss of form from our defense from a distribution pov (we know the defending has been really crap too). Martinez was hugely important last season. One thing that's been very noticeable is that we've lost a lot of verticality in our passing and have instead gone back to LVG days of passing it around the back from side to side. Not as bad as that, but you get the point. It's making our chance creation suffer.
The form of our players is disgusting. The whole team and manager are in the mud. We just can't score. The entire front line is crap right now. Nothing we're doing is working.
Frustrating to watch. We thought the culture had been reset and then the summer happened. Also, Rashford purple patch masked a lot last season of deficiencies.
Ready to accept the pain. Just want to see us string 4 passes together.
One thing Onana did in preseason, that he's stopped doing in season his ability to venture forward giving us numbers in the middle of the pitch. He still does step forward, but it's less often. Martinez last season was our best passer from the back by being able to break lines with his passing. Nobody else can provide that from the back. This has added to the problem of our sideways passing from the back. Finally, there are lots of times where Onana does push up to act as the 3rd CB in order to give us number superiority, and the CBs completely negate that by not pushing up. Normally being level with Onana is good enough, but as Bayern showed, you don't have to pressure the CBs to negate Onana's advantage. The CBs don't recognize when they're being allowed to stay on the ball and stay level with Onana, so Onana has no passing options and he then boots the ball forward where the opposition just win possession back.
The culture was sort of changed. It's not like Rashford was pressing all that much last season either. He just scored and so you couldn't say shit. Now that the goals have dried up, he's still a major part of why our pressing is garbage. But it's up to Ten Hag to select players who will carry out his instructions. He's in a tough spot. Benching our best players from last season, in order for his instructions to be more faithfully carried out is a lot easier for other managers when they have the forwards to deal with that. Garnacho has recently added a little more pressing to his game, but it's not like he's some unselfish player. A lot of the criticisms of Rashford can be pointed at Garnacho. The right side of ours is crap either way.
Our midfield isn't all that great at carrying the ball either. A ball carrier could add a bit of verticality by being able to receive the ball and turn with it, taking out 2 defenders by losing one, and drawing another before passing it off.
That's why I don't understand Hojlund hate. Any striker would suffer under the current performances. There is no service.
Should have signed Szoboszlai
Despite the dropped points I have more faith in us mounting a title challenge today than I did before the Spurs defeat, as long as we can get a bit of the discipline back that we had at our peak. Those seasons were basically defined for me by a lack of bad/overexuberant decisions as much as the memorable moments. Barely recall us getting any red cards or giving away any penalties back then. This team has grinta and firepower, but it needs a touch more stability I think.

The yellow for waving an imaginary card is awful if for no other reason than for the fact that it is completely arbitrary whether it's enforced or not. Saw Jackson and Mac Allister get it immediately in week one, never seen it happen since. I think we all want consistency above all in terms of refereeing.
Morning, lads. Have Salah, Szoboszlai and Allisson left Liverpool yet? They disgust me with how great they are.
There’s a lot being said about how important Curtis Jones is for Liverpool, and that while Szoboszlai is an impressive, all action player, Jones’s resurgence has coincided with a massive uptick in virtually metric, including the most important one (points per game).
Having said that, we won’t see him for a few weeks so I guess we’ll see how ready Endo is to fill in. He’s been decent so far.
But yeah. Szoboszlai is god-tier.

I’m fine with Hojlund. Overall, these man look burnt out. They played too many games last season and it wasn’t helped by that ridiculous US tour - we have this mountain of injuries.
right now we have one full-back fit. Do we move Lindelof to the right back position, Dalot to the left and …., I’ve been watching Maguire highlights 😭
Of course, after all of this, Udogie is now getting racially abused.

Heh I don’t know anymore. At the end of the day I want the manager to cook with what he’s got instead of trying to dish out what isn’t available to him. The strengths and weaknesses of the team will be painfully clear to him, now it’s results season.
The team available to him last game was a good team on paper, at least when you’re staring at Crystal Palace on the other end.

Go to 'the Burren' in County Clare on the west coast. A sort of rocky, national park area plus the Cliffs of Moher nearby. You'd be close to Galway too, university city.
In September, Clare hosts a matchmaking festival, Lisdoonvarna, where you're assigned a wife but you're too late for that.
Or you could come to Tyrone ("Tier-Owen" or "Cheer-Owen" if you're legit) and visit me.

Those VAR mistakes can cost a manager his job, a club a lot of money.
Refs have absolutely no damage committing such horrendous mistakes with the video assistance. Someone has to be badly punished, you simply cant fuck that up so badly with VAR giving you a second chance to undo your mistake.

Bit about Grealish to United is irrelevant, but the rest stands. These decisions have grave impact. Liverpool have lost the league by one point twice. What if that happens again this season?

Antony ain't played in a while. Honestly, why haven't we tried Mount on the right, he played there for Chowsea loads of times.
