If you're using Hola, a free virtual private network that lets you stream things like Netflix abroad, you need to stop immediately.
Security researchers discovered multiple security flaws in Hola and published their findings on a site called "Adios Hola.".
Hola is going even further, by selling access to the network through a site called Luminati from $1.45 to $20 per GB. On Adios Hola, researchers published chat logs between them and the company explaining that they don't enforce rules that say people shouldn't be engaging in illegal activity because the company has "No idea what you are doing on our platform."
Well that's nice.
By rossonero Go To PostWhat the hell? I'm just now using Hola to watch Hannibal on Netflix Canada….rent a VPN m8.
A free one is more likely to fuck you in the ass sooner or later.
I think Benitez going to Real will be really good for Bale. People forget that it was Benitez' Inter that Bale destroyed when we played in the CL. Rafa will not have forgotten that, I can see him making Bale a beast again.
Not surprised about Hola. That's why you use trustable vpn's and pay that little fee. #saynotop2pvpns
By FlutterPuffs Go To Postrent a VPN m8.Yeah I was thinking about it, unblock.us seems to be pretty popular?

When it comes to Hannibal though, it's on Netflix here too but there aren't any English subtitles which is a shame.
Oh my god I just read about those Leicester lads.
Incredible.

They should have come to cebu instead. They wouldn't even notice the eyes as much as the cock.

unblockus is great. Like £3 a month and you get a drop down box on the site for about 20 different Netflix regions.

Brandur Olsen with his third goal in... I don't know. like 6 matches I think, of which he was subbed into most of them. What a youth player.
Even Steven De Ridder scored while I was pooping before. I'm just going to assume it has some connection. Cause fucking hell he's horrible.

I pay for Astrill as my VPN service. Works very well indeed, though I'm guessing most here wouldn't need such a pricy VPN; I only pay so much as I need it to get around the great firewall
Watching Halt and Catch Fire. It's kinda filling in the Mad Men hole of my heart.
Not as good, but a fine rebound.

I got NordVPN, it was like 40 dollars for a year and it was the one that worked the best for me, of the ones that sounded like they weren't cunts, when trying a few out. They don't have a huge server list though as some other VPN's, but got a nice little feature list and things on their site as well.
By FlutterPuffs Go To PostWell that's nice.what does this mean? can I get hacked?
Thanks m87s for the recommendations. Will try unblockus first.
By Woodenlung Go To PostI paid for unblock-us for a good year thinking I had cancelled it.That's such a Bröndby thing to do.

I use hotspot shield, not very annoying and user friendly for people with limited intelligence like me

No. People that support Brøndby are rarely allowed to have credit cards.
I wonder is Hola the cause of my debit card fraud.

If I reinstall windows can I be sure that I'd be free from viruses? All the windows defender/malwarebytes scans have found nothing but in still trying to get to the bottom of my fraud thing.
Not buying a PS4 until I sort out my laptop which sticks because there's a few good deals that end today (TW3 + GTAV + 3 months PS+ for £320)

I know nothing about VPNs but use Hola from time to time.
Can someone give a quick outline of the risks and benefits of using a paid service?

Must be nice to know that your son probably has gotten you fired. I can see a 'we want you both gone' scenario for the Pearsons.

The benefits are that they probably aren't scumbags selling your bandwidth to shady people.
The risks are that all your traffic goes through them so they can see pretty much everything you do and if they wanted to be cunts...

Hola is p2p shit. Which basically means your connection is being used as well, to unblock stuff from people who want their IP to look English. They could be accessing all kinds of bad shit from your IP. It also opens you up for other exploits although I'm not too paranoid about that, but it could happen that some people figure out a way to fuck up your systems or steal your info. But yeah, you are pretty much part of a bot net that they then sell. :p
Most other VPN's are just servers you connect to, without doing anything with your own connecton.

For you guys with football withdrawal, I can recommend Napoli-Lazio tonight. Rafa's farewell game and also a game that decides if the garbage men or the SS troop will get to play CL qualifications. Napoli needs a win, but a draw is enough for Lazio.
I use IBVPN. 30OFFPROMO gives you a recurring 30% discount, so it's $60 a year. Comes with 96 VPN servers, and a dynamic DNS, which lets you set up two IPs. So i keep one set to my home IP, and update the other depending on where I am.
I suppose with a VPN you can never be 100% sure that whoever you're using isn't snooping on your data, but there's a fair bit of trust in the more popular ones.
Advantages are that they're faster, with more options, and also not selling your bandwidth. Most come with a dynamic DNS, so you're not tunnelling any of your data, but it gets rid of most location based blocks. Using a DNS means you're accessing services like Netflix at your full speed, whereas a VPN can slow you down.

No idea how unblock us works, but there's lots of legit VPN providers that don't keep any logs and use goes well above the reasonable for encryption. So unless you are setting up a human trafficking organization in the Philippines, you don't need more than that.
