Nothing worse than when you see a love one slip into a coma, but some pesky relatives are refusing to turn off the life support. Meaning you are stuck with an invalid on your hands and having to wait for, or possibly even losing, your inheritance.
By nate Go To PostWe do desperately need a CB though. Of the bunch we have, Smalling's the only one that's shown he's consistently capable of putting in good performances, and that's only over the course of half a fucking season.
I love the boy McNair, Rojo and Jones are decent, Blackett and Evans can emancipate to a war torn country for all i care.
Bring me Otamendi. Or Garay. Or Ramos. Or Vlaar. Or Mertesacker. Or Razor Ruddock. ANYONE
What?

You realize with a DM signing after Cech we are the most equipt team to challenge Chelsea next season?
Say what you will about Wenger but over the past three/four seasons he's actually built an incredible squad.

The depth if the team is crazy. Quality everywhere. I dont know if it is good enough to be consistent In Europe again this league. But juve have at least assured Serie A dominance for another couple of years, and relevancy for another decade.

It is interesting to se what Allegri will select as his go to formation. If I remember correctly he made his name with a player behind to forwards and it was what we eventually started to see him lean towards last season. But he also would play with a front three at Milan and can still use just a front two.
Loads of good possibilities. At least allegri is flexible enough not to be tied to a system and will use what is best for the team/ against certain opponents.

You are right if we can get a DM, but that does not say a lot about the the Manchester clubs. I also don't think are problem has ever been personnel based, but rather the weak mentality of the man in charge. We are bottlers and I cant see that changing anytime soon, especially in Europe.
I still think we need a new CB partnership. Kos is just not smart enough in the head at the highest level and Mert is too slow.

By Yurt Go To PostWould you leave if you were Llorente? Settled in Turin, likes his teammates a lot, the fans still love him, he's winning silverware by proxy, won't ever play for Spain again due to his age and most importantly he's one of our HIGHEST earners…lol. Ain't nobody got time for Sevilla moneyYeah, but he only just turned 30, he's still got 2-3 years at top level. Could even pull a Toni, with that physique of his. I'm sure he'd rather be a starter (or near as) in a lesser club than get Matri amount of minutes next season. 'Cause that's what we're talking about here, now that we've signed Manzo, Dybala and Zaza, with Morata as an near-untouchable. He'd be lucky to get 700 minutes in all, if that. No way he'd be happy with that and neither would we, considering his salary. I'm 90% sure he's a goner.

I expect Gabriel to be phased in as the first choice CB next season, how good is he? who the hell knows at this point, we just have to kind of roll with it at this point. We very very unlikely to buy a CB i think.

I agree with Yurt. Llorente seems happy in Torino and he has the admiration of the fans. Interviews with him suggest that he believes he has a lot more to contribute although he admits he suffered a bit this year with the change in tactics (i.e. Tevez playing deeper).
In the end, its what Llorente wants. If he wants to stay and fight, we'll probably give him that chance.
I think he'll likely be fighting Zaza to be our first choice sub, but I'd personally say that there is a lot of football to be played this year and there are a lot of variables that will mean he could get a lot of time: we don't know how Dybala will react to playing on a big team (and the same goes for Zaza), we don't know how Mandzukic will adapt to Serie A, and we don't know if Morata can handle the pressure of being a defacto starter. We know that Llorente can perform, on the other hand, if we play him close to another striker alla Conte. That'll be enough for Serie A, no doubt.
I have to say I'd rather have Llorente stay until January at least, and actually longer rather than making a rash signing in the winter mercato.

Teams are already picking at Parma's corpse. We've just signed a 16 year old forward Alberto Cerri. Their youth academy is going to be basically divided amongst the big 5 in Serie A.

The game that perfectly sums him up for me was the home time against Monaco.
We were in cruise control and hit them with attack after attack and all that was needed was a level head and the goal would eventually come.
Then I think it was around the 25th-30th minute, Kos comes charging up the left side of the pitch thinking he is Messi and can drible through their whole team.
It was at that moment that I said on this very forum that we would shortly concede a goal, and we did.
Yes he is one of the better defenders in the league, but his decision making is shocking and he has cost us games several times. World Class and those that win titles are the ones that keep a cool head. That don't have a rush of blood to the head at the wrong moment. Bonucci and Chiellini are both guilty of charging up the field at times, but they make sure it is when half the team are still able to cover at the back, usually on counters and not during controlled posession. They don't just leave their partner to have to worry by himself.

Wouldn't he cost like £175.87m?
By rossonero Go To PostWell….. City? That wasn't so hard.
City have an extremely old team with pretty much zero young players that will kick on and develop next season. Like the only player younger than 24 in their first team is Mangala and he's shit. Even if their 'eds' produced someone it wouldn't be a player with any experience. Most of the team is on a decline already. Their current squad is overwhelmingly reliant on Aguero to produce for them, and he could easily end up injured for long periods.
Compounding that is the fact that a good chunk of their summer budget will have to be spent on overrated or just plain shit English players.

I think City/Chelsea/United will go back to being top 3 next year with Arsenal bundled up in that comfy 4th place blanket. Not that I think United are a better team than Arsenal right now, but come the end of the summer they'll have spent loads more money that Arsenal simply won't be able to match. Unless you pull another Sanchez signing this year, which is not impossible, but also not likely, I'd argue.
It is I have to say an immense luxury to have Nando in our squad for his human qualities when he might be a starter for Liverpool. But it's his choice. I genuinely want him to be happy. He's such a passionate guy. You could see how happy he got with every goal he scored.

and then went down in Serie B the year after themselves... and should have been in Serie C if it wasn't for match fixing now.

Seven Catania officials arrested in match-fixing allegations
Police have announced that seven board members were arrested on suspicion of using of illegal methods to keep their side in Serie B last season
Ongoing match-fixing investigations in Italy have led to the arrests of seven Catania officials on the charge of sporting fraud.
Reports state that Catania president Antonino Pulvirenti, CEO Pablo Cosentino, former sporting director Daniele Delli Carri and four more members of the Serie B club's board were arrested early on Tuesday morning.
Authorities suspect the seven may have been involved in bribery and other means of foul play that helped the Sicilian outfit secure survival in Serie B last term.
Catania finished 15th in the league, five points above the drop zone and only two outside of the relegation playoff places.
Investigations into the extent of involvement in the latest scandal have seen Italy's special law enforcement unit extend their search to other clubs and personnel in three other cities as well.
"Police executed seven arrest warrants for leaders of Catania, who are suspected of buying games in Serie B to allow the team to win and avoid relegation," a police statement read.
"The executives arrested are accused in various ways of fraud in sports competitions. There are further raids being carried out in Rome, Chieti, Campobasso and Catania."
The news represents a major fall from grace for the Elefanti, who were last in the top flight in 2013-14, and is the latest scandal to mar the state of Italian football over the past decade.
