Its a shame that GWWM/his publishers decided to split the two books geographically because AFFC works better when informed by book 5. Still not a great book, but better.
Really enjoyed 5 tbh. Got the more interesfing characters, and GWWM's greatest strength is characterisation.

And then when it starts to storm a bit more and the dogs tear up the footballs and Bayern announces transfer news like "we're getting rid of weiser and signing a keeper and giving away all our youth talent," the struggle seems far worse.
I'm so glad I have internet at home again. I missed this I think.

I'm not super happy with the Mandzukic signing, as it seems to be the case with most of Juve's fanbase, at least judging by the reactions on the main forums. However, while some of the outcry is understandable - Tevez brought much more than just a very respectable number of goals - some of it seems, to me at least, completely misguided. I've seen quite a few people post about how "Juve are going the wrong way after they've done so well in the past few years". "Mandzu is too old, Mandzu isn't technical / talented enough." As if signing one near-30 year old player (one with a very solid international pedigree, I should add) somehow negates all the other past, current and future signings. If anything - if everything goes to Marry's and Allegri's plan, of course - at the end of the summer we'll be left with an overall much younger team. Mandzukic is a year younger than Llorente and two years younger than Tevez and Matri. It might not seem like much at the moment, but you have to consider that Carlitos, Llion and Matri will very likely all be gone come August and look at who we'll be replacing them with.
Dybala and - more on this knotty problem in a minute - one between Zaza and Berardi. Like it or not, we need at least one seasoned striker with international experience, and Mandzukic (29) fits the profile perfectly. The others ...
- Morata (22)
- Dybala (21)
- Coman (19)
- Berardi (20)
- Zaza (23)
... are all very young players. Add Sturaro (22) and Rugani (20), both potential starting-14 players, and you've got a very interesting mix of experienced and talented young players in Juve's starting XI. That doesn't mean we can neglect our aging LB/RB issue and hope that the Pirlo conundrum will solve itself, but it definitely puts us in a pretty comfortable position, planning-for-the-future-wise.
So, the Zaza or Berardi problem. Who comes (if at all) and stays in our squad, who gets loaned out, either back to Sassuolo or some other Serie A team (Udinese are allegedly very interested in Zaza). My somewhat educated guess is that there's a pretty big divergence of opinion inside Juve's management regarding who to bring to Torino this very summer. On one hand there's Paratici, who seems to be leaning heavily towards Zaza (he's been in love with him ever since their Doria days). On the other there's Allegri, who'd much rather we'd give Berardi precedence, if indeed it all came down to choosing one over the other. And after Mandzukic becomes official next week ... I think it just might.
With Mandzukic in the squad, the need for another 'heavy' prima punta goes away, that much is clear. Zaza is also competing for a place in Italy's XI. From his perspective, if he goes to Juve to start as the fourth or fifth striker, he might suddenly have a very hard time getting the minutes and exposure he needs to impress Conte. And so he might decide he'd rather stay at Sassy for one more season. Will it be enough to convince Paratici and Marotta to shelf Zaza for another year and steer towards Berardi instead? I have no idea.
The apparently easy solution is sending Coman on loan to vacate a spot, but it's really not that easy. Firstly because we promised Kingsley we wouldn't do that to him when we basically stole him from PSG - it was the one thing that convinced him and his parents. Other than Paratici's gigolo ways, of course. Secondly ... well, even without Coman in the equation, Zaza and Berardi would still start behind Morata, Dybala and Mandzukic in Allegri's pecking order. Berardi might be convinced to accept such working conditions, though everything his agent has said so far suggests the contrary. He's two years younger than Zaza and can play in a numer of attacking positions, so he'll definitely get his chances. Zaza ... not so much.
So, yeah, regardless of how it goes, someone's getting shafted. Between Coman, Berardi and Zaza I hope it's Zaza, but I'm afraid it's going to be Mimmo, because for some obscure reason Paratici and Marotta don't seem to be true believers. At least that's what my gut tells me.

let's see
Llorente: as much as I'd like him to leave, there's still a possibility that's he's going to stay because he likes it here, and his Spain career is all but over either way (new blood and all that)
Coman: he shouldn't be too affected by the new influx of players because, like Berardi, they're both technically wide players, no? But only if we ditch 4312. Because as it stands everyone other than Morata and Mario is gonna be competing for that one spot behind the 2 with Dybala, who is likely gonna get the nod because of 32 million reasons
I really like Zaza, but he's such a Quagliarila that I don't see him ever displacing Mario or Morata. I think he's more than capable of scoring just as much as Morata though, but he offers way less than Alvaro, who launched almost every single counter attack in Europe <3. Please dont come
Berardi is 20, we can wait another year, if he insists, the pussy.
Dybala better fucking delivers because even if we buy EVERYONE on that list, we're still not as good as Europe's top dogs up front (but frustratingly better than most everywhere else)
We need FB back ups too, I dunno if Evra still has another miraculous season in him. He looks dead past the 75 min mark
dont listen to Berardi's agent or agents in general, one day ago Mario's agent was saying that he aint leaving and he's happy in Madrid
Llorente is gone, Yurt. He asked to be sold. Monaco bid 15M€, we're asking for 20M€. It's happening. He might prefer Spain, but in the end he'll accept the move, imo. Hefty salary, CL football, iconic city. Done.
Regarding Coman and Berardi ... the problem is not so much having them in the squad or not, it's about being able to give them the minutes they need to develop. Coman especially needs it, badly. We'll see, maybe they'll convince him to accept the loan to Sassuolo. If Di Francesco were to more or less guarantee him a place in the starting XI ... he and his family might bite, regardless of what was agreed upon.

Impeccable human being and he should take some of the Morata credit for helping him so much off the pitch, and for being crap enough on it to make way for him. Thanks Nando <3
'4-3-we will see' should be the go to next season, depending on the opponent.
we could go with
Coman(Dybala?)-Morata(Mario)-Berardi
or
---Mario(Morata)----
Dybala (Coman) -Berardi(Pereyra)
or the usual 4312. Berardi and Dybala can both play up front too
and let's not forget we're still looking for a genuine number 10/Oscar
