Looks like there's a script extender already out too.

Haha, literally downloaded these a few mins ago too. Gud stuff.
Surveying planets is my biggest pain point with the game atm. Finding those final traits/fauna can take ages.

Yeah, gotta make sure you're exploring all available biomes so you find all the planet traits too. Easy to forget a planet can have more than one.
I had to leave Kreet without doing all the POIs cus there were just too many and also I hae too much shit and am constantly encumbered. Even my ship has run out of storage and now I'm having to work out how to modify my ship.
Just did with a Crimson Pirates ship. Seems I have to pay to register it. If I don't want it can I register and then sell?
I use the Neutral LUTs mod atm but I am kind of tempted by this one as a compromise - https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/589?tab=description

50% it's not as saturated as the other ones (I imagine those look better on OLED) but it's a nice compromise. Need to visit more varied locations to know if I'm liking it for sure.
I fucked my install up last night. I flew too close to the sun. Turns out modding on Steam OS is a little more complicated than I anticipated.
All back to normal now though.

It's a very long term mechanic (what isn't innit). Good if you're setting up outposts mid to late game so you can automate resource generation.
But even then, if you feel you can do one here and there, Vlad at The Eye pays well for survey data. Paid me 8K for a 2 trait, 5/5/5 fauna/flora/resources planet. Another 4K for an easy barren moon on top.
I started Xenobiologist and Jemison is large enough to get the skill to level 3. It goes much faster after that.

Slightly randon thought, but I kinda don't like that when you take off from a planet, when you're in space you're facing the planet you just left. I kinda see why they did it like that but it feels wrong.

Travelling from the mission log being the more efficient option, I rarely do the whole launch sequence from the planet surface anymore (you still get the taking off video and a jump summary in the galaxy map, so it still gives you that travelling feeling, which is cool). But if I do take off, it's to land somewhere else in the same planet so kinda never noticed I'm not pointing away now that I think about it.
It puts you on an actual orbit around the planet. There's a time lapse video on reddit where you can see a ship doing its orbit, and the planet itself orbiting the star with real time cloud patterns (where applicable), day night cycle and moons also orbiting the planet itself and getting shadowed in real time. Also different planets have different times of day, and there's an universal time on top. There are even some cute details, like signs on stores like "open 49 hours" and such.
It's kind of really impressive tech and 99.99% of all people will never know it works like that. It's a bit baffling that they couldn't find ways to showcase all of this, tbh., including a medium drive speed to travel inside a system. Then again, with how massive the game's content is, they probably cut out half of everything they wanted to do, as always.

I had a couple of small stolen things but went through a scan and it picked up nothing. How does that work?
Stolen or marked as contraband? These are 2 different tags.
Stolen as long as no one sees you picking them up it's fine. Contraband they have to be in a secure cargo module to hide from scans.

By Laboured Go To PostStolen. So what causes something to be marked as contraband?
Red marker on it is stolen, yellow contraband. Contraband are more illicit goods from what I can tell. There’s a drug that is only legal on Neon. You can buy it there but if you take it off planet and try and go anywhere else, it’s considered contraband. I found an item in a room, under the bed at the Red Mile where the guy was murdered. It had a value of like 18k credits and was in a case. It was marked as contraband.
Pretty good video. Most of this I found out on my own pretty quickly, but especially in the beginning the resource management between cargo on your ship and inventory is clutch. The targeting feature on your ship also makes a huge difference in combat.
Mans ship is pretty nice. I need to look into upgrading mine. At the least I’m going to have to expand cargo, I’m already full.

Just realised the Pre-order skin stuff for my Steam copy just doesn't seem to have been included. Seems I'm not the only one.

For the Xbox app lads apparently it is downloaded but you need to move a folder in My Documents or something. (It's not there for us)
Maybe it activates on the official launch

Yeah, I also landed on a tile next to Atlantis and saw it in the distance.
The more interesting thing is that, in planets with different biomes, you can totally get two different environments if you pick just the right place to land. If you land on the poles, the day and night cycle is different than in the equator, etc.

Wouldn't recommend this just yet because it can't be reversed once done. But interesting:

Reminds me, I'd like a lowered gun mod like F4 had.

10 hours in. Game is good. I like the ship combat a lot, especially after some upgrades.
Regular combat is just okay. It’s smoother than their previous games, but it still just average FPS gunplay. I’ve already fell back into my classic Bethesda play style of stealth sniping.

Kid Stuff trait is so fun
Dream Home... eh, it's just an expensive, unfurnished house on a random planet. Good if you want to roleplay your IRL crippling debt to get a barebones home surrounded by wild creatures in the middle of bumfuck country.

Added only a cargo module to my ship, but did play around for an hour putting stuff down to get a sense of how it goes. I can't wait to have enough funds to make the Stealth B from FTL
