You're only missing out on like 3500 credits. Probably one of the more disappointing quests I've tried so far.
By inky Go To PostIt should be in a cave somewhere, but yeah, not really much to it.
it spawns below the floor and you can't mine it lol.
Neat tips.
Knew all of them except the improved ship registration. Could've saved me a few credits. Also, fast travelling from your scanner in New Atlantis is faster than bringing up the local map. You can also bring up the local map from the scanner UI anyway. G on PC I think.

Kurtz, the Moon of Jemison is a good place to put your fist outpost on. Only has 2 resources, but they are important ones: Aluminium which is used to build everything, and Helium to power the best reactors.
You just need to set up a Beacon, 1 extractor per resource, a power source, a few solids and gas tanks to store them, and it will produce stuff automatically and store them in the connected containers. When you build new outposts you can link them to this one, and with the incoming and outgoing pads your other outposts will automatically receive these resources.
Or just never build an outpost works just fine too lol.

Getting bullied by a level 30 bounty hunter and I’m level 15 with the starter ship, still unmodified.
Goddammit
Yep, it turns out that—no matter how hard you try or how much loot is weighing you down—you can't die from maxing out your CO2 meter in Starfield. If you drain your O2 gauge and fill your CO2, the worst that will happen is your health getting reduced to 10% of its maximum (and your vision getting a bit swimmy). So unless you're in combat or subject to some kind of other health-draining status effect, you can effectively sprint infinitely whether you're over-burdened or not.
I tried Starfield again last night out of respect for inky and vapes but I passed out while playing
I will not give up

If you put a Helium-3 producing outpost in the edges of a white star system, it will act as a refueling spot and allow you to jump further.
Seems like a remnant of when fuel was actual mechanic tho. In practice it will let you skip one or two jumps at most.

I've got 2 ships from quests, and you could get maybe three pretty evenly from like level ~8 to 17. I have around 400k credits after paying back my house mortgage, but haven't really bought any ships,as I've been doing just fine with one of the rewards.
I stole and registered a pirate ship I want to rebuild into a new one that'll cost me around 150k-200k, but still need to improve my piloting skill first.
Quests that give you pretty good early ships:
Kid Stuff trait
Mantis quest
Completing the Freestar Rangers faction

I need to get into the money making mechanics of the game. Ammo kiiling me.
How about ship upgrades and stuff?
How about ship upgrades and stuff?
I think ship upgrades are different from location to location, and some are level gated. But you can't go wrong with investing about 20k early on shield and gun upgrades for the Frontier. Particle beams are great ship weapons and so are lasers, imo more than ballistic and missiles (might change depending on skills ofc).
Ammo is scarce early on, but once I settled on a loadout, I basically pick up and sell all the surplus ammo and buy full stacks of what I need. It's expensive, but worth it. Barring that, taking the scavenger skill might make it so it's never a problem again, but it's 2 skill points that not everyone can spare early on.
First 20 levels or so, most of the money should come from mission rewards in my experience. I've spent an obscene amount of time fully surveying planets and selling the data to Sall (at the eye) and Phil (some time-share guy I met in Mars), but it isn't fast, I just do it for fun.
Anything that has a 1:1000 weight to value ratio is probably worth picking up until you and your follower can't carry anymore, and unloading in town doing the rounds. I never pick up common, uncommon, and sometimes rare resources and crafting mats anymore. Stores sell them pretty damn cheap when it's time to craft.

Pretty disappointed with how the Freestar Ranger quest line concluded.
Every target you track down seemingly has to die or be let free. No option to talk them into being arrested.
The “good” end to the quest is letting the big bad off the hook and lying about it to cover it up or killing them and multiple innocent people in the process.
Being a space bounty hunter kinda sucks I guess.

It's not completely necessary, it's just there's a possible progression bug if you finish a faction's questline before Into the Unkown, so just to be safe.
But it's also early enough into the main quest that it makes sense to finish that quest chain soon anyway, so no harm.

really?
This is happening to me at times. Also happens when using the scanner when I have Heller's cutter equipped. Seems related to weapons with extra traits.
Had that last night but assumed it was because of the amount of enemies around and the area I was in (large interior environment beneath a planet’s surface with no loading between the two).
The Bethesda jank is alive and well.

Found the Big Bruno mini-event in The Well last night. Love little world-building snippets like that.
Also 2 points in stealth and finally finding a helmet with Chameleon on it has finally made stealth very fun.

also why doesn't the game understand that if you're talking to someone a random npc shouldn't barge into the screen?

By Hentai Samurai Go To Postthe map is very useless, it's too bad that I can't make out where to find most shopsI agree the map is useless. New Atlantis is a big semicircle, with the MAST tower in the center. You can walk from one end to the other without fast traveling like a large boulevard and everything should be in sight (except for the space port which is at a lower level).
One thing I don't like is that the store signs don't stand out and their graphic design is not creative. Also some stores have displays and others don't. Some you walk right in, like restaurants and others are a small room a load screen away. Very bad decisions there.
The kiosks tell you where everything is located, but basically there is the general trader at the space port next to the coffee shop. If you fast travel to the commercial district, walking straight ahead from the NAT, to your right is the UC trader (both of these are good for buying resources and crafting materials). Then right across to your left is one gun trader. The other gun trader is in the residential district for some reason.
There are also a couple stores in The Well that are easier to navigate to. And right where you land you can also sell stuff to the Trade Authority kiosk.
I eventually found my way around new atlantis but god damn the map is really shit.
do you know where I can pick up a black visor friend? I stole the good armor from the lodge but I can't stand to look at this guy's face any longer, I need a visor for that helmet.

Probably in The Well.
You can change your appearance at the Enhance clinic any time, but some of the UC helmets have covered faces. They might sell some at Cydonia in Mars.

By Freewheelin Go To Post^lmaoooooApparently, it’s the same “bug” that is in Skyrim and probably other BGS games. Because BGS, the storekeeper inventories are just standard chests. But they typically bury these chests in the game map to where players can’t get to them. They didn’t do a good enough job on this one.
I wonder how they found that

Yup, people have already found you can clip through the map and find the chests just floating there under the shops with their entire inventory in them.
New update seems to have sped up my loading times. That or this helped more than I was expecting -https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/2245
Hmm, do I want to install the script extender already?
I'm kinda scared. 100 hours in the only real bug I've had is one guy in a bungalow at Paradiso missing their whole head.
