Do y'all get hitches during cutscenes ? Gameplay is smooth as fuck but it regularly stops for seconds at a time when I'm in dialogue

How much are you guys save scumming combat/dialogue/choices/perception rolls?
I plan to refrain from doing it as much as possible except for when I put myself close to a fail state, but will probably break that when I get annoyed by the result of going into a conversation with the wrong person, or waste a load of spell slots in a fight.

I reloaded a few times, once I got my entire party killed being cocky.
And a few times when I almost lost a fight and then got into another one almost directly after without healing up or short resting.

By data Go To PostWhen are we running a slaent partyAfter my playthrough I'm down. Maybe they'll have buffed ranger then so I'll be that for the big ass bear companion.
Dibs on barbarian
Is Ranger proper fucked at the moment? I heard before release that they start off shit and then get fairly powerful around level 5, but everything I've read about them since the game came out suggests that they're just the worst class throughout.
My character class was going to be a toss-up between druid and ranger

Hopefully there'll be a balance and bug patch by the time it comes out on PS5. No idea what to expect from it in trms of graphics and performance, they've still hardly said anything about it afaik, let alone shown it.
I expect a PS5 to handle everything pretty smoothly.
A friend of mine is on a 3 year old laptop with a 2070 and he can turn it up to max no problem 1440p.

Even in xcom. Might as well play Mass Effect then
I tried pushing someone off of a cliff, it worked but I can't loot the body.
So maybe I need to pickpocket them first and then push em.

Only when starting dialogue. Iām playing on the Steam Toaster though. When I tried it on my PC, it was all butter.
By Lupercal Go To PostRanger is pretty bad but it seems Druid and Monk also could use some buffing. Are they actually balancing things differently than the tabletop game? I honestly don't know.
If they aren't, Ranger will remain the worst class and there is nothing you can really do about it to make it better than shit tier.
Monk is best used as stun-bot.
Druid is one of the strongest classes in the game thanks to Wild Shape and full caster progression. Summon Nature's Ally is really good.
^ all from the tabletop perspective, btw
Also, yeah, martial classes tend to max out at lvl 5 or so. By lvl 7-9, they start paling in comparison to spellcasters.
Still useful to have some, of course, if only to run interference.

I think they use the tabletop rules as the baseline and will balance from there? I hope.
Rogue seems to be top tier when you get the dualwield extra attacks and all that going in the higher levels.

If you are just looking at DPS, yeah. The real game winner is making your opponents not able to fight, though. Which is the big reason why spellcasters are stronger at higher levels. They have aoe disables, debuffs, buffs, etc. in addition to damage.
Druid might be a bit weaker in BG3 because they may not have allowed him to summon creatures that also had spellcasting. That is/was well and truly broken.

Ranger is.... okay as a multi-class option, but you really gotta understand your build and equipment needs. I'm running a str-ranger currently, should end up being 3 Ranger/9 Fighter if things work out like I think.

As usual I'll continue my voluntary vow of sexual abstinence in games, unless its funny or its data's girl(s).

I thought I was already in Act 2 and thought it weird I could still travel back to the beginning areas when I went through the Mountain Pass.
But Act 2 only starts when You cross to the Shadowed Marshes shit is getting real after that, already had 2 party wipes when fucking around. I really need to prebuff more.

I'm thinking of respeccing both my SP and MP characters. Sorcerer and Ranger respectively. I'm just not finding them very strong nor fun to play with. I've always found the magic systems too much of a hassle to deal with anyway, so that does not leave much. What are the most fun classes to play?
By DY_nasty Go To Postyal in for something if you ever commit to a evil playthrough šif you play a lotlh-sworn cleric you offer to give a prayer to a dead child for their grieving mother. the prayer is 'vermin died as vermin lived. good riddance'

Barbarian just wrecks shit, same as a fighter but they're more allround. Fighter does get Battlemaster on higher levels and that's just a wrecking ball.
Paladin can be good for offense and defense, maybe you'll need to choose later on.
Same as the Cleric but they're more support / defense oriented. But if you come across the Blood of Lathander Legendary weapon they can get OP real quick.
Rogue is supposed to be the best class in the game, backstab, stealth, dual wield with penalty, poison attacks etc... And a dedicated lockpick/disarm/pickpocketer.
Ranger seems underpowered, most classes do it's job better.
Warlock has the familiar, high damage spells and debuffs, Old One patron subclass seems awesome, haven't tested it yet past the Early Access.
Wizard looks to be another high tier class, Learn spell can be really good if you find some high tier scrolls.
I'm still trying to unlearn pathfinderisms
