By WoodenLung Go To Postunforgiving? as far as I read, they just dont recommend it cause it … takes control away from you, with some choices. One bad dice roll could fuck things up pretty quick.
I'm saving it for the second one, going to be a goody goody first.
By NiceGuy Go To PostThey confirmed yesterday that they're fixing the version number being on screen at all times, weird that it got through. Even when I watched early access footage I thought it was a bit odd seeing it under the minimapExcellent.
I'm not in hurry, I'm pretty set on playing a druid, but I'm going to watch / read some more about classes before I fully commit. As in all my rpgs, I want to play a class that's not covered by companions, and I'd rather have a personal quest than not, which is why the dark urge beckons me.
Although, yeah, it might be best left for an eventual second playthrough.

It can... make you do things with large consequences.
By Daz Go To Postis it mac compatible? Not yet afaik, think they're aiming to get it done around the same time as the PS5 version comes out in about 4 weeks' time
Hope I have it in me to play it a second time and include the Dark Urge. Don't have it in me to play as pure evil or chaos, but sounds like a good way to take it out of my hands and show off the branching story and dialogue.

By WoodenLung Go To PostWill it make the game harder, or will the consequences just never be the same?honestly, I've not read too much into it, I just found it intriguing.
but I'm guessing that if it makes you do things you have no control over, then yeah, most likely.
By NiceGuy Go To PostHuh, could have sworn I read some whinging about it not being playable on MacI dunno. Maybe. I found this in less than 30 seconds of googling: https://macresearch.org/baldurs-gate-3-mac/

when i googled around to find more about it, it actually said it was like that class... but turned up to a 100 haha
LMAOOOOOOO
I dunno I feel likes its more fun going for these classes in blind playthroughs
It was the only reason I was curious about that game, I'm glad someone did something similar

By inky Go To PostGame looks pretty good with DLAAQuite demanding, about a 10fps hit compared with TAA, but it does look significantly sharper. If you can afford it, DLAA is def the way to go.
Happy with the performance so far, I'm hitting ~100fps with everything on ultra @ 4k with DLSS quality (4080, 5900x, 32gb ram). I'm guessing it won't hold up once I get to bigger areas, nevermind in Baldur's Gate.
I'm not sure how applicable it is to the video game, but think of short rests as getting all your "encounter"-level abilities back and long rests as getting back all your "daily"-level abilities back. In 4e, that was automatic, but 5e makes it an explicit choice you have to make.
Also, Warlocks are a solid pick if you can't decide if you want to be martial or spellcasting focused as they can be above average in both at the same time, iirc.
e: oh, and unless they changed the balance from the tabletop game, avoid Ranger as other classes do everything they do, but better
e2: similarly, Monk was most effective as a stun-bot and fell behind other martial characters when trying to do anything else. i think that's it for the woefully underpowered classes in tabletop. iirc, the most op classes were druid, bard, and cleric. but, different context with video game vs tabletop game and all, so spellcasting might have a different value

Went druid for the ability to speak to animals, and high wisdom for perception because these fucking games love hiding tons of shit in the environment
Are the only stats that count for speech checks the ones that belong to the character you started the conversation with? Don't really want to pile all of those skills into one character or piss about exiting conversations to re-enter them with a different character.
Ideally my primary speaker will be my custom character

By WoodenLung Go To PostYou did that to fuck that bear. Don't lie
Brother I am the bear.
I can also be a wolf but i don't want to upset the turkophobes by role-playing as our culture's sacred mother.
By Patriotism Go To Postincredible, i can turn into a cat and enter small gaps.Hopefully, they still let you cast polymorph and fly on your party so you can turn your fighter/ranger/monk/barbarian/other-martial character into a flying t-Rex that is better at combat than they could ever hope to be.
Wait, nvm, I think the level cap in BG3 is too low for that to be able to happen.
Maybe a dumb question but is there a time limit on when the worm is gonna chew through my head and my character becomes a prison warden in Latria?
Or can I just take my time with side quests?

By data Go To PostDrow have so many out of pocket dialogue optionsThought you were playing as a dwarf
By blackace Go To PostThought you were playing as a dwarfI made a deep gnome old one warlock initially but he's really more fitted for the durge origin
Any of you turned Karmic Dice off?
I leave it on to avoid some bad luck streaks but damn I have had some bad luck.

I'm not sure how punishing or rewarding that is, but why turn it into a WRPG. I liked failing rolls in Disco it was part of the fun
that feel when you need to roll a 10, have bonuses that add up to 7, roll a 1.
Didn't kick the squirrel lol

I already whiffed my chance with Shadowheart.
I suggested singing some songs around the campfire with my Bard option, maybe seduce her with my voice but she balked and haven't been able to open a new dialogue option since.

By Laboured Go To PostAbsolutely deserved. Bet you were going to break out some Wonderwall and all. It's true, now I'll have to settle for stealing Data's fire muscle mommy.
