By Dark PhaZe Go To PostJust started playing this.He won't keep needing them so don't worry.
Gale requiring magic items has been tiresome but I imagine that they start becoming fairly common the higher level of enemies you fight?
There's enough trash magic items you can find/buy in act 1 to sate him.

I just happened to notice that you had a magical item
By DY_nasty Go To Posthard to ever feel conflicted about killing the githyanki nglI went back to wipe out the crèchelast night after forgetting about it, even though I wasn't even getting xp for some of it. Got nothing left to do except go to Moonrise Towers now, will probably kill Balthazar on the way back to the Nightsong
Do summons disappear when you unequip the spell for them?
Struggled mightily on the initial grove attack battle with my Bard who cannot do damage in a fight and Astarion failing to pick off their backline with stealth sniping from behind. Impossibly dumb not to have brought Gale for that one. Reattempted the fight with the same squad and got through with only a few losses basically by pre placing fire barrels everywhere.
My only criticism of the game so far:
- Xcom like super delay jank when there are a bunch of combatants involved on the field. MFers literally standing there in idle animation before 20 seconds before performing an action.
- Times in the story where people act like we've known each other forever when we've barely had a discussion? Black dude with dreads aint never said a word to me but one of my first convo options in reply was "disappointed you kept this from me" or something lol.

I always assumed the party member got update when you go back to the camp.
Bard can do terrific damage when used right.
Got to use those musical blessings pre battle.

Wyll is a chump. Working as intended sadly.
And lol that battle... That entire area was either oil to be burned or water to be electrocuted or frozen.

probably shouldn't have taken minthara's armor in act 1 lol scene's tone is crazy now
Astarion pulls it off well but Drows armor looks best on him.
Big fan of the way that I'm over a hundred hours in and still feel like I've barely prodded the upper tiers of gear. I'm higher level than I'd like given the low cap, but still have plenty of room to upgrade.
Testing out the summon limits
Currently got a raven, a spider, a dog, a fire elemental, a zombie, wyll, two dryads and two wood woads following me about.

If you can summon fairies through Summon Nature's Ally, I believe they can also cast Summon Nature's Ally to summon more minions for you.
What is the modding scene like for BG3? Is there any chance it gets user campaigns and the like like the old Neverwinter Nights games?
Really shocked Alfira didn't make it to the drawing board as a party member. Lack of a bard hurts - but the party needed more true good guys too
minthara's va is s-tier btw. fucking hell
"astarion? lol. he is well aware that i would exsanguinate him entirely if he flashed his fangs at tme" lmao the delivery here

By data Go To PostToo many martial party members tbhYou can reclass them if you want though.
By Lupercal Go To PostYou can reclass them if you want though.May as well make a custom party of short kings at that point
By data Go To PostMay as well make a custom party of short kings at that pointI do admit, a dwarf party member wouldn't have been out of place.
I don't need 3 of those running around though.
RPG devs will let you fuck weird masked alien girls and shit all day but never include a short race romance for a short character
Is there a way to make it so Karlach can throw heavier enemies? Don't know which stat that would be tied to.
Still haven't used a soul coin. Been tasked by Ketheric to retrieve the Nightsong, don't know how that will work since last time I went there it gave me a point of no return.

Also, yeah that is a point of no return normally.
I'm not terribly far into this game, but one thing I kind of hope these games start doing that might really help replayability is to kind of force party members to leave and even become enemies if they disagree enough with your choices. I kind of dislike being able to collect every party member in the game, even straight up villains, when you're a paragon of good. Maybe have the ability to go through the game with 2/3 of the cast, with one third of them being neutral alignment types that can justify them sticking around.
IDK, just seems like a natural thing for these kinds of games to start doing and I haven't seen it happen yet.

party members will absolutely tell you to fuck off and leave or fight you on the spot over certain choices/events

Excited for this to happen then! Hasn't happened just yet. Actually I did have Gale leave when I accidently backed out of giving him an item.
My first run I didn’t go evil and still pissed off one enough he agroed me and forced me to kill him lol
I don't use my Channel Divinity spells nearly enough. Forget they even exist during combat.
Feel like I'm missing out by not having the brain to think up any particular strategies or work-arounds, my approach to fights and traversal is very basic, and is becoming even more so as I out-level this area despite the increased options at my disposal.

Most fights don't need elaborate strategies to win but you can Always try something else when you want.
Nah the highest difficulty that it launched with
Think the difference between levels is so large that being even one ahead of what is expected gives you a massive advantage. Especially since I've got so many camp supplies that I don't need to worry about managing my resources to try and cover multiple fights.
Find it a bit reminiscent of Hitman on console in the way that the load times are just a bit too long for me to go out of my way to experiment.

Nearing the end of my first playthrough. I'll absolutely be doing a second run. BG3 is one of the best games I've ever played. The story quests and side missions are fantastic, as is the dialogue, voice acting and different play styles/customisation available for each character.
Played as a College of Swords bard. It's a half caster build so I had a great spread a melee and magic damage that I could deal. And since it's a charisma based build I could pass almost all persuasion and deception rolls.
My only worry for my next playthrough is that I played the whole first run on what was esse finally easy mode.

Eugh, three druids in my party
Fight to get to Ketheric was intense as fuck, used basically all of my spell slots and everyone ended up with 10hp
Can you burst him quick enough to stop him escaping in the battlements fight?

Not sure I like rolling the dice to do stuff.
Also, not really understanding why everyone is obsessed with this shadowheart lass, do her tiddies dispense softserve?

Just finished Act 2, had to do some reloading fuckery to stop something from glitching and failing to appear in my inventory
Only swept the camera around from where I've started Act 3, already looks great. Think CRPGs generally suffer a bit from how rarely you get a sense of scale, from up here the area looks massive.
@Bold, Shadowheart pulls ahead as easily the most interesting companion at a point, where I am she could easily be the main character.
