I think ima do a third run and I’m thinking one of these:
- evil dark urge
Or
- solo tactician
“Thematically” the former. But “ brain crunch build and strategy “ the latter. Like I’m thinking some fights needs AoE CC / Damage.
Maybe multi class a bard and a sorc?

I beat level 1 of the towers on my tactician run and this time … Jahira didn’t die!
I also am going to lift the curse which I failed at last run
So all in all act 2 went better for me heh

Also, yeah, I always want to play a Ranger in DnD games because I love the animal companion, but the class just generally can’t pick a lane. It did in 4e and was one of the best dps classes there, but it didn’t have the animal companion mechanics I wanted (so I went Skald for forced movement and bard shenanigans and made one of my optional feat choices be an animal mini-companion/mount; I played a pixie or something and picked a corgi so I could take my fairy steed into battle as irish(?) legends intended).
Oh, the corgi was also a princess of another realm and it tied in with whatever storyline our gm was going with.
Tbis run is so much more complete. Actually played side stories of tbe companions.
I’ve come around a little on Astarion this time as I’ve found roles for him in. Stop is battles, and also like Gale better but man that’s only cause he looks like the Martin Riggs of the wizarding world. Only reason Jahira was worth it was to save Minsc and his homie.
Karlach and Lazael are the best but my green alien homegirl bailed at end of act 2. Not sure why I did the crèche and told her I woukd set Orpheus free.
Wyll’s too nice for a warlock 😂

I keep finding new interactions in this game. Had no idea that if you use a strong enough ice spell on something that's burning, it'll get the Brittle condition and become vulnerable to thunder and physical attacks.
Somehow I played my first play through and far too much of my second play through without trident. Tavern brawler respec on my barb. Gloves with 23 str. Karlach super buff. Just rescued Lazel. Probably gonna finish with bard / wizz / barb / fighter and just wreck shop. Those two melee gals are just unfair.
Not sure if il do a third run I want to do spiderman but I’m feel like I’ll spend 70$ just to think about BG3 runs

Trident is such a good weapon with tavern brawler it's broken.
I stole Voss' legendary silver sword and it's also stupidly powerful, especially since you can use it directly from when you get it.
Lae'zel best girl in playthrough 3.

Druid may be my least favorite class. That and Ranger. MINSC is way more trash than Astarion ever was. I didn’t play him correctly on my fist play though. I still don’t find him super useful but do swap him
I’m for various fights. The dragon for example.

Tbey nerfed tbe of hand damage getting dex multiplier. All my dudes running bows I guess. Karlach is a trident chucker now too and was dual wielding maces prior
About to fight the absolute on my tactician rub

Tactician run down
I’m contemplating doing another run cause nothing sounds as interesting as doing an evil or trying a solo run

Kicking this off tomorrow night with a group of 4 of us. It'll be all of our first playthrough.
How's the Rogue class?
How's the Rogue class?
It’s not the most fun and if it’s the only character you will be controlling it will get boring probably.
Rogue is aite. Steal everything. Assassin makes some encounters comical. One of the few classes that makes crossing over to Ranger decent too.
By reilo Go To PostAssassin is what I was eyeing. It's strong but conditional as fuck.
But honestly anything is fine - just not pure Ranger.
Sword Bard or Lore Bard is where it's at.
Don't let these invisible plebs tell you different.
Monk slaps also.

The bow is important for rogue. Otherwise your rogue will have very little involvement during combat aside from a clutch moment here and there.
I respecced from rogue assassin to Monk rogue and it was a blast. Monk FW
My next build will be a necromancer I think.

You can make Rogue work if you go Thief Subclass then hop into something else. Two bonus actions means you rarely have to sit down in combat and take anything come back.
Arcane Rogue is a scam. Assassin will do one crazy thing in a fight then nothing for the next 2-3 encounters.
Shadow Monk definitely seems awesome though. Looking forward to trying that in a future playthrough.

Also take a moment to consider aesthetics because aside from the ninja like drow armor it’s slim pickings for fashion.

Pass every charisma check and charm your way through battle.
Also a positive is that you can drop Cleric with lore bard easy and go super offensive as a team.
By reilo Go To PostMight consider Bard then, thanksBard is the ultimate flex pick. The only thing it can't do nearly as well as other classes meant for it is tanking and solo dps. But it can still deal damage while also having some of the best buffs and debuffs in the game, while also being a full spell caster that can still effectively mix it up with martial weapons. Overall, the most flexible and probably the most powerful class in the game.
You really can't go wrong picking bard.
Played for about 3 hours tonight with some friends as a group of 4. For three of us it was the first time playing but one guy already played it before.
It's good thus far but mad overwhelming. It takes quite a bit of getting used to especially with the multiple action wheels. It's so dense so I do get some of the UX choices but it'll take a bit. It got easier towards the end as we made it towards freeing Withers.
My only other nitpick is that it's not always abundantly clear who's turn it was so we had to definitely rely on voice chat to make sure we understood who was doing what during combat. And yes definitely a couple of us attacked each other on accident.
The dialog choices were at times really good but at other times maybe one or two too many.
That's all for now. Liking it so far, just gotta get through the learning curve. I think playing in a group for the first time might actually be a bit more difficult as you both feel rushed and uncertain of your choices and where to explore next.

Its a nightmare I imagine
Don't worry about feeling overwhelmed with options, you'll get the hang of it quicky and start relying on some trusty spells in no time.
Really anything works just have fun lmao

Coop with 4 on the first time damn, that's having a lotta chutzpah.
Only tried it briefly after my second run but on pc it works fine I guess.
My friend was new to it so I let him do all the exploring and I just kinda tagged along.

So not sure I stick with solo. At least not with gloom stalker. Act 1 is a nightmare to level since your effectively need to be level 6 for the build to be effective

I didn’t even know there’s an achievement I’m just doing all battles solo lol outside of that first battle with lazeal where you and her and shadowheart get off the ship
I should probably consult a guide instead of just wingin’ it

It seemed viable if you do an evil run and cut a bunch of side content out but I’m just messing around. May start using companions again
