I think I may be taking my slow competionist tendencies a bit far in this. 72 hours in, just finished the Githyanki Creche and more or less got Lae'zel on board with trying to expose Vlaakith.
Level 7, just added Gale to my party when sorting everyone's equipment and spells out, didn't realise how silly his damage output seems and the number of spells he can use between the recharges and cantrips. Might go back and wipe out all the enemies I didn't get through, had to take the portal out since I was out of spells, short rests and healing potions.
The main thrust of the story hasn't really grabbed me yet, but the branches hanging off of it have.
I will be able to take the other path to Moonrise Towers after doing the Mountain Pass, right? Guessing Shadowheart has some good stuff if you go that way. Swapped Lae'zel for Karlach for now, will put her back in when I come across any Githyanki.

Ahahah Fender that's fucking incredible! I'm still early on in Act 3 and still just fucking around (still not well enough to play long sessions). Pretty sure I'm doing most quests backwards and breaking them like a dumbass

After you're done with the latter, you can go back to wherever in Act 1.
Love his voice love his character, had me ready to risk it all during a magical moment. Too smooth no wonder he boned a goddess, what am I next to her, just a lowly rogue.
Sold two pieces of infernal iron in act I because I didn’t know what to do with them and I don’t know how to approach the subject with the red wonder. So now I’m sneaking around cursed shadows trying to save face with my best girl.
In my travels through the darkness I found an hospital full of Shar worshippers running experimental torture on a poor man, cutting him and gouging his eyes, it was very off putting. In the end they killed themselves, which was quite the sight.

I’m in act 2, only knew what the infernal iron was good for when I met him at the inn.

You can find two more pieces in act 3. I did
Act 3 in This game is borderline overwhelming … you have to search everything and talk to everyone lol
Also Fuck you Gortash hahaha
Also Fuck you Gortash hahaha
I normally try to complete everything in a game, but Act 1 was so vast that I just had to move onto 2. Just got to the Shadow Cursed Lands and met the Harpers.
Climax of the first act was bashing every Githyanki on the head with hammers. Very satisfying.

For Karlach … 2

Haven’t fought him yet. Broke duke out of gortash’s prison and broke his pact and an actual dialog option was “fuck you Gprtash”

Ohhh hey I’m in a sewer. Whoa where’s this taking me. Now I’m getting in a what and going where …
This is how I ended up fighting The devil too. Just sorta wondered my way into his realm lol
Yurgir was tough. Had to pull an Hail Mary and open up that demon in a bottle from act 1 middle of the fight. Sheeish what a mess.

That tower mage omgomgomg. Work flashbacks
I was fumingggggg. Enjoyed that a bit too much at the end

Everyone, pure mayhem. Also rang the bell the necromancer gave me. Had to put invisibility on double duty. Thank god my rogue has like three invisibility options, last body standing.
This game is incredible.
What I like about Act 3 so far is that I feel like any decision threatens to fuck up everything lmao
So which character or quest to do first is a bit of a dilemma

Act 2 seems much shorter than the first act. Feels like I've cleared the majority of quests before getting to Moonrise Tower in like half the time of Act 1.
By Cleff Go To PostAct 2 seems much shorter than the first act. Feels like I've cleared the majority of quests before getting to Moonrise Towering half the time of Act 1.Act 2 feels like one huge dungeon. Feels a lot more linear than 1 or 3. Honestly if it wasn't for Dame and Ketheric, I'd completely forget about it

The dungeon was great, the small village in the shadow had great stuff in it.
I'd rank the acts = 10 - 8.5 - 10
I'm not even sure this is the one I liked but the ambient music in Act 3 is so lovely
I don't know what happened in my childhood but I fw flutes
Edit: probably the 6th crash on act 3. I was doing so well on this boss too😔

if shar's temple was actually great instead of jarringly mediocre compared to the rest of the game to that point, act 2 is probably received much better across the board.
Just started act 2
I'm not sure that I like this shadow curse mechanic, having to move the torch into (and presumably out of) a weapon slot is a bit finicky on controller. Throwing enemies at other enemies doesn't seem very effective, but it sure is enjoyable. Do throw damage buffs count towards that?
Shadowheart's Radiance damage 😎
Tried clearing the crèche, fuck me that lot hit hard. Didn't realise that Gale's spell recharges correspond with the slot level that you're recharging. Think my Wyll build might only be of any use when the enemies are all easily pushed and stood on cliffs.
Kinda wish I'd gone for a proper spellcaster instead of druid, I'm pretty much only using bear form to tank damage and badger form to burrow across gaps.

I beat the mini boss who uses this, but I can't remember if it actually dropped after the right. Need to check.

By Crusher Go To PostFinished Act 2. Can’t say I have much bad to say about it, loved it really.
Yeah I really enjoyed act 2 as well and while I think act 3 is better the jank really comes out in act three
Gortash down. Time to fuck up the god of murder
Super glad I killed Astarion now. Karlach is so much more enjoyable as a companion and just general person lol
Yesss Karlach my spirit animallll
Loved Act 2, so oppressive and I was in panic mode at all times lmao.
'I am fury, I am DEATH' gets me hyped every single time. Goated actress

I want to run through a wall for Karlach. Every time Astarion disagreed with even the most minute altruism I wanted to punt the asshole.
By NiceGuy Go To PostDoes the agree/disagree stuff actually matter or is all of the consequence in the big choices?
Yes but I’m not clear on the levels which it matter. Approval affects discourse with the companions and can change outcomes
Act 3 >= Act 1 > Act 2
Act 2 is my least favourite, but it ends on a very high note and basically redeems itself. I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed Act 3, the setting itself, as I'm usually not a fan of big cities / hubs in rpgs. I much prefer exploring smaller, remote, less sprawling locations. Here the city felt more like a jumping point to all these interesting, nested, self-contained places within, at the edges and under it. I always felt like I was going somewhere.

Dy I wont lie to you I'm invested in Gale's story now. Decent vocal cords
Fender you're lucky you didn't save that one you didn't save because their story was a snoozefest and oh my god that character that might come with them
Just nothing worked for me.
@act 2
The part I didn't like was the ending cutscene and the fallout boy character design. But its all good
