Hoping I can defend the grove against the goblins, and then go back to the goblin camp without being attacked on sight so I can clear it out
Hasted lvl 12 Lae'zel is an absolutely ridiculous damage dealer. Feels almost broken.
Also ...
... is actual cheating. What a spell. Allows you to manipulate the battlefield in the most exquisite way while taking 0 damage.

I've been doing extremely well without any extra tadpoles in my system and with an unbalanced party of likeable people + shadowheart lmao. I really wanna drop her but it feels like she's tangled up in everything fr
But I've decided to embrace my potential just to see the gameplay changes. Feel like this is just the easy mode option really? But it sounds crazy! Edit: you know what, maybe on my next character actually…
Had to take a break after Act 2. What a fucking epic chapter, lesser games would've ended it there.
Cutscenes are mostly scuffed btw but eh its fine.
Could probably finish the game with just Karlach and Lae'zel. My character is basically Charles Manson he handles all the talking and they go kill
Edit: lol listen if their voice is epic I'll probably side with them its not that complicated for me. Just wanna hear more of them

I still have a couple of loose ends to tie up, but for the most part I'm done with companion quests.
Shadowheart >> Lae'zel > Astarion > Wyll (because Mizora) > Gale >= Karlach > Jaheira (because Minsc) > Halsin
Karlach's and Wyll's quest might shoot up a couple of places, if it ends with a banger, the others I'm pretty set on.
I wasn't able to recruit Minthara, but seeing how meh Halsin turned out to be, I wish that's who I had sided with. Ah well, next time.
EDIT: Alright, Wyll's just got fucking awesome.

You can do them all easily right?
Shadowheart's story (or rather quests) is sensational but her character is so typical. I can probably guess what she's about to say and do and where her story is going. But who knows we'll see
Love her voice

For the most part, yes. You'll likely miss out on some cool interactions, because you can't really predict where person X that's relevant to companion Y will show up along the way and you might not have said companion in your party at the time. You'll basically always know where the next objective of a companion's quest is located though, so you'll know when to swap them in and go for it, swap them out after that.
Killed Ragzlin by putting three explosive barrels next to him and launching a fireball at them. Shoved a goblin off the rafters as well, wish I'd bought Karlach with me to draw everyone up there and just launch them off. Volo prised my eye outthe silly cunt.
By Zabojnik Go To PostI wasn't able to recruit MintharaOnly possible in a true evil playthrough where you side with the Absolute and attack the grove. This will cause you to lose other companions though.

Voice acting is stellar in this, however I can't say I like the main hero (me) being something in between a speaking and a silent protagonist. He's much, much more the latter, of course, and it always throws me off when he suddenly decides to voice a thought every 20-30 hours or so. By that time I've forgotten what his (my) voice sounds like and it just feels ... weirdly alien.
Much as I generally prefer a voiced main character, I think I'd prefer a 100% silent one in this, except for grunts and stuff. Just a random nitpick.
I’ve restarted the character creation three times. Overwhelmed to be honest because I can’t even decide what kind of tone I want for the character.
Is the Monk fun to play or is it underpowered?

There are other classes that do its job better in the late game but that shouldn’t matter unless you play on the highest difficulty.

The only class I would stay away from if you are concerned about being underpowered is going full Ranger.

If you're really not sure what to pick, a Bard would be a great option.
You can build them allround, focus on Charisma. Makes for a great lead pick who can bully/persuade almost all.
How much are you guys role-playing compared to trying to get as much xp as possible? I intended to do the latter a bit, but now it comes to it I don't really want to kill all of the goblins, I think I've made my point. And I don't want to kill Sazza or the Zhentarim merchant, assume they'll go hostile as soon as I see them.
Used three tadpoles now, took a long time to decide to use the first one, now I have I guess I might as well carry on. Not sure whether to share them around or use all of them myself to unlock the outer nodes.

Dont worry about your xp I'm not even looking at the bar and it sounds like you're cleaning up the quests quite well
I'll leave the second question for master Lupercal 😁

By DY_nasty Go To PostNothing wrong with playing the role of a loot gremlin lolNever enjoyed looting and sorting through inventory as much. I never do
If I expected any of them to have decent gear I'd be wading through them with Lae'zel, Karlach and Astarion.
Need to give the other Wild Shapes a go, I've only tried the bear, the badger and the spider so far. Haven't failed a quest yet, though I've been save-scumming for that. Stole the idollast night, had to use a guide to see how to do it without setting off a war. Started with the intention of just letting things happen, and the consequences being part of the story, but I can't handle it when things actually go wrong as a result. Hopefully I'm better with that if I do a second playthrough, especially if I use the Dark Urge.

If you’re not consuming the tadpoles, is there another purpose for them?

Fuck that my companion seems shady af 😂
Also it makes Astorian mad which I find amusing
I tried them then reloaded because it felt like easy mode
But I'll go all out on my next proper cunt character

I figure if I save em all maybe I can save scum a trophy or something .
My druid is a tadpole junkie, I'm maxed out.
I have so many abilities there's no way to fit them all in the visible portion of the hotbar, no matter how far you extend it.
Psionic Dominance, my love. Black Hole, my star. Displacer Beast, my everything.

Raphael's song, incredible. What a fun fight.
I'm in the end game now, only Orin left. I can feel the sadness coming.

Yep, got two left, collecting Buggy Dribbles the clown parts and investigating the suspicious toys, everything else I've taken care of. I probably missed a couple of minor ones here and there, but for the most part ... Baldur's Gate has been combed through thoroughly.
I spent an hour trying to solve a puzzle only to find out I already picked the lock and acquired the item within, and that’s why nothing happened when I finally solved the puzzle I thought I wasn’t solving
I warmed up to Wyll in the past ten hours or so while finishing up his quest, Gale I've grown ambivalent towards, but he's just too good in combat.
Again, Globe of Invulnerability is straight up cheating.

Think ima do a tactician run next play through but with a different cast and using the worms. I’ll be melee so Gale is useful and Lae’zel won’t be needed.
Grove defense was great, spent ages before it just walking around talking to everyone. Didn't do well using the traps, but got some big smokebombs off. Asatarion spent the whole fight dead, he's proper shit if he's not getting the hits in and he couldn't land a glove on the spider that was on top of him. Ended up just planting Lae'zel at the top of a ladder at the end so the rangers had no way up and I could just pelt them with arrows and fireballs.
Fighting area looks like the beginning of Saving Private Ryan mixed with LotR now. Zevlor died :(

Ended up with a rogue wood elf that looks like a vampire version of Riddick. I’m surprised by how good the game looks during dialog, and already immersing myself in the world. Rogue role play already with a couple of pay offs and feeling sick to my stomach about how many hours I’ll put into this. Hunting that Spider Silk armor as soon as I can.

It should be under proficiencies in the character menu, no?
Never played with controller, just guessing based on the PC UI ;P

I've misplaced two of the ice pieces you can combine to make a quarterstaff :(
Probably wouldn't have used it anyway, but still
@inky, looks like you're right but not all of the stats are showing for me for some reason

30 hours in and now level 5. Just made it to the Underdark.
Karlach and Wyll now have extra extra attacks and are wrecking shit.

It. Is. Done.
Those who've finished it, how did your adventure end?
[Ending spoilers]
I liberated the prince, told the Emperor to fuck off, became a squid myself, let Gale sacrifice himself, killed myself and watched Karlach turn to dust.
I'm off to confront the Elderbrain proper now and then I'm definitely going back to the final Astral Prism section, do it all differently.
