Ethel dead with only one person being downed and I got her back up without too much trouble 😎
Thrown potions and anti-poison pre-buffs coming in clutch.
Honestly wasn't feeling it that much for the first fifteen hours or so after the intro, especially with how much if hyped myself up, but now I've got so many options and abilities that complement eachother that I'm bloody loving it.
A lot of it is getting used to the menus I think. Spent a long time just trying to remember how to get to what I wanted, now I'm switching spells and equipment, making potions, moving items into the right backpack, and recognising spells by their icons with no problem.
Feel like I'm ignoring a lot of shadowheart's class spells, wonder if I'm missing anything surprisingly effective.

I whooped aunties ass until a dialog came up with her begging for her life. Through intimidation i got her power and the wand and she fucked off for another fight later in the game, I assume. I gave the wand the to shitty mother and fully expect to see her again with a zombie following her around
The fight with magic missile is easier. You can pop off a level 1 version of MM to tack and kill her illusions in one attack allowing you to focus on her right from tbe getgo

By inky Go To Postyou cowards didn't give up an eye then?
I absolutely did. 😂
I missed a story interaction for a benched companion so had to reload to bring him/her.
Not proud of myself but I was so curious I had to know
Btw no idea which one of you wasn't feeling act 2 because I've been on EDGE since minute 1
If it sounds funny and chaotic then I'm doing it

Was doing some wandering and stumbled across an underground mercenary den. Passed two charisma checks and another trap check to get to the leader.
Got my bard to distract her with a song, pickpocketed her key and 500 gold with Astarion. Wandered around the hideout, dodged patrols, picked two cell doors and chests and made out with another 1000 gold and a very rare set of magical gloves.

Watched a bit of the pc version, a few things stood out
The lighting looks quite a bit better and it makes a huge difference, having free cursor movement is miles better than the centred one on console, and I don't know why the PC version has a full screen character sheet showing stats and items when that'd surely be much more useful for the way people play on console.
Gonna try graphics mode again to see if the lighting pops more, despite being turn-based this is one of very few games where I opted for a more stable frame-rate.

Still find it very fiddly using that to target things in the environment since the camera goes mental

By data Go To PostHalf Orcs need a bigger modelthey are about the right size.
Swole scale with stats tho
I was going to make like a monk or a rogue or a druid or something but I ended up making a space marine so I had to make him a vengeance paladin to smang Shadowheart
By blackace Go To Postthey are about the right size. It's about the same size as the 'big build' of the regular races. I think the bugbear model is much closer to what I would like

Digital foundry said they’re virtually identical to PC lol
hitch bb just in case you missed my PSA earlier and you're having this problem, if you notice textures not loading properly just restart your ps5 (standby doesn't fix it)
Not sure if the bug affects lighting too but the game was looking rough as hell for me until I restarted

RIP Lorroakan, act like an asshole, die like one.
I've been stashing explosive barrels for a 100 hours ... let's just say gigabrain wasn't the only thing causing tremors in the Lower City today.

Now 20 hours in and I don't think I've made any actual story progress. Picked up a few quests at the Grove to find Halsin and exterminate some goblins. That seems to be the main thread of the game right now. But I'm doing everything I can to avoid that right now.
Looking for a Duke that was kidnapped by some Drow instead

rerolled to a good half-orc barbarian for my actually good playthrough (unlike my drow persuasively evil but seen as good). Still want to do an evil playthrough as a warlock but then also a dark urge playthrough. What a game.

Anyone else normally lose engagement with games as they give you more and more options, but feel that in this they just make the game better and better?
Are there any spells that let you shrink/transform a party member into a unit that can fit through the holes that don't use a spell charge? My Druid still has to use both Wild Shape charges to get in and out, and I'd rather be sending Astarion in there anyway so he can loot the place and possibly pick his way back out.
Karlach is cool enough that I wish there was 5 members in the party. Gale and Wyll can remain benched.
Used all my Inspiration points reading that Necromancy book ¬¬

And yes I found a potion! I was fighting one and he shrunk himself lmfao. Looted it off his corpse so I assume we can make it
Nice
Think I had some glitched tutorials playing through the intro, one popped up yesterday that I assume should have been clear from the start. Didn't realise you can choose the order of your turns as long as they're not seperated by an enemy action, that should be pretty big for getting Astarion advantage for his sneak attacks without having to use a bonus action trying to hide, and casting your mobility-impairing spells before putting things like Moonlight Beam down that enemies can just walk out of if not set up properly.

There a reduce/enlarge spell in the game, but I don't know if it can shrink a party member enough so they can fit through holes. I'd guess not.
Only ever done it as a druid going feline.

You could always let Gale learn it of course.
Lol when I was wrapping up last night I was going around chatting up all the animals and this random ass cow turned out to be a demon in disguise

you're in my party😭 welcome 😭.
Glorious noble voice. Also reminds me of Jamie Foxx's impression of Doc Rivers lmfao you can't get him he has the best answers
I'm a screen away from finishing act 2. Pretty sure I did it backwards lol, bit of an odd way to structure the missions ngl.

Does rogue get better cause arrows are kinda shut unless you’re 20 feet above someone? He’s mostly used as my lock picking whipping boy
Get in there you coward. He has plenty of disengagement options when things start looking dodgy. I'm only using his bow in very specific situations.
I'm not using Hide so much, mainly planting someone else next to his target. Does the sneak attack advantage apply to the damage roll as well as the attack one?
Lae'zel's Distracting Strike, Feinting Attack and her extra Action are very useful.

I mean during fights, starting to get better at hiding to gain an advantageous position before fights start. Got a bit lucky with the spiders that they glitched out and stopped moving before the fight started, letting me position the whole party, and let me get a surprise hit in to instantly kill one of the medium sized ones.
Destroying the web so the boss falls through it does crazy damage for a guaranteed hit, 60 at a time. Was worth taking my PC with her

By Fenderputty Go To PostOk hide more … got it lolWhat level/subclass is he?
I’m level 5 … still in under dark looking for forge … don’t remember subclass of top of my head
I just fell like unless he’s really elevated he’s always at a disadvantage due to armors of mobs

That's where the sneak buff comes in, it makes it much more likely for his attacks to out-roll their armour class and land, and he can kill decently strong enemies in just one or two turns.
Trying to keep him safe with ranged attacks might just make fights more attritional than you'd like, his bonus actions are much more useful in the midst of the fight than they are on the periphery. Can't remember if you have to pick Thief though to get an extra bonus action.

You do have to be a Thief to get the bonus bonus action, but it's super helpful to disengage, walk to a blind spot, hide, then sneak attack.
If you went assassin it is also really good, especially if you multiclass with ranger/gloom stalker. You can end quite a few fights on the first turn if you try.
