By DY_nasty Go To PostYurt I did both. Just fast traveled from underdark back to the mountain trail once I'd cleaned the place out. The absolute point of no return is the point where you go from the underdark/mountain trail into the cursed forest. You'll be made aware through a notification to wrap things up as you reach the new transition point.I'm pretty sure I did the githyanki creche location when I was well into act 2 already, so I don't think there is a point of no return for that.
But, yeah, what DY said, if you want to be 100% sure. Definitely worth doing both, unless you wanna save it for a 2nd playthrough.
Just beat the dark urge playthrough as a monk. Monk is so overpowered. I'm pretty sure I could have beat it without too much trouble with just Astarion as a companion.

Think I'm using shadowheart all wrong keeping her at the back and spellcasting, she has medium armour and shield proficiency and decent hp so I should probably be getting her into the middle of the action more. Would be nice to be able to use that lightning mace as well without it being a liability which is what it'd be if I equipped it and then didn't use the melee attack.
Gonna look through my options for getting into the small holes and exploring without having to use both Wild Shape charges to get in and out. Assume Misty Step doesn't let you teleport to an area you can't see, but I've probably got a potion in my one-use item bag that'll do th trick.

But if you level her fully Cleric, she only has one attack. Does have some great spells though.
Cheers Zabster and Dy!
Cleared the place. So fun, and so far not a single area/dungeon felt the same.
So impressed with this fucking game.
I remembered reading a note about greasing the statue good stuff👏
My problem rn is that I care too much about the people I'm running with. We've been through a lot 😭 I'll save the rest for my Steam playthrough maybe. Probably a stupid decision as usual

By C4-621 Go To PostCool flashlightgreat passive ability and packs a punch. Spell might be one of the best in the game.
No matter what path you take, getting to that point is skressful lol. Perfect stopping point canonically
By C4-621 Go To PostI'm at the last light inn, seems like a good place to stop for tonight. They deserve a break 😮💨They'll rest when they're dead.
Withers has put in more work for me than Karlach has.
Shoulda booted up divinity to remind me of the game mechanics some. I forgot how overwhelming all the options are for a character play styles and you’re really building multiple dudes with sub classes etc etc
Walked in on ogres fucking and this devil girl in my camp curses like a construction worker. 😂
Not sure why I started mage instead of melee. But the result is me using this Githyanki who’s super mean but has already sexed me up and gets mad when I want to play with another melee 😂
So much crazy shit happens in camps
Anyway who’s your favorite melee / tank character to use lol

I don't think I have a conventional tank but I always roll with Lae'zel. Her performance is fire she's killing it
Devil girl is my spirit animal so she's with me too

Just from a build stand point
Magic - me
Cleric - shadow heart
Rogue - Astarion
Tank - lae-zel
Sorta feel like tank is the more easily changed out but maybe Astarion is as well?

Astarion has GOAT dialogue though, definitely worth bringing him along on a playthrough.
Also, he's the designated Disarmer / Lockpicker then.

I have me (druid) and Lae'zel as mainstays, Astarion, Gale, Shadow Heart and Karlach in the rotation. Been mixing it up a lot.
By Fenderputty Go To PostJust from a build stand pointAs far as DnD 5e goes, yeah, martial tanks and rogues can be replaced with magical versions of them around lvl 5-7 with no real issues. Wildshape Druid gives you the most effective tank in the game while also having access to full spellcasting. A wizard should have a bunch of spells available that would let them obviate the need for any of the standard rogue skills checks. It loses out on raw dps, though, so will have to supplement that somewhere else. Wizard does have more cc, which helps.

Highest dps is probably Pally for unconditional burst (only depends on spell slots and actually hitting) and Fighter for sustained (like 3-4+ rounds, iirc).
By Fenderputty Go To PostGood point on Astarion for the locks lolIf you want just a sack of health or damage mitigation out of your tank, go Wildshape Druid or Bear Totem Barbarian. If you want a trade off of tankiness and damage, Vengeance Pally (I think???) and Battlemaster Fighter are good choices.
Wooo swap out tank for experimenting with
That one druid that helped me briefly was so fucking stronggg. Can basically do everything
And the story is filled with druids so I'm sure there are some fun interactions with them
Zabo winning.

When you have a boss right where you want it and it suddenly pulls a shitload of physical resistance out of it's arse :(
Can you cross the bridge that the Githyankidestroy?

I kind of dont want to download mods until I feel like I've exhausted my options for the vanilla game

How do you use Enraged Throw on ps5? When I select it it brings up the radial menu of things to throw but it's just items in my possession, where for normal throw I can use the drop-down menu that's used to examine things.
Karlach is gonna be chief yeeter I think, though Lae'zel's jump distance is also good for getting around the arenas with levels to them

Started properly using Wyll in my party. WTF this guy is a beast. Hex + Eldritch Blast + Agonizing Blast (a passive that scales to Charisma and boosts EB damage).
Sorry Lae'zel. You're replaced.

By NiceGuy Go To PostCheersDepends on your class/feat I think. You should have Berserker class for it.

LIMITATIONS OF ENRAGED THROW IN BALDUR'S GATE 3
Enraged Throw is a great skill that will be added to the Berserker class in Baldur's Gate 3. There's not much of a drawback here, except for the same ones that apply to Rage/Frenzy. The Enraged Throw action can only be done by the Berserker during this mode, and just like the original Rage, the Frenzy will end if you haven't attacked a creature or received damage since the last turn. When Frenzy ends, the Enraged Throw will become unavailable.

Wyll is such a wet blanket lol.
Even in my good playthrough I left him at camp.
Every time I came back to rest, there's that exclamation mark above his head because he needs to cry about something.

Whether to pile all my mobility gear skills into Astarion or spread them to people who actually need them 🤔
By NiceGuy Go To PostWhether to pile all my mobility gear skills into Astarion or spread them to people who actually need them 🤔There's an amulet which gives you a free Misty Step and there's a pair of boots which do the same iirc.
Should be enough to get you by.
Do you want one lightning fast murder vampire or 3 fast walking friends?
By C4-621 Go To PostOh yes, but I found that boring lol.Oh it's definitely boring.
But I'm still getting to grips with the mechanics of the game and need a reliable damage dealer. Still a complete novice at this and trying to experiment with styles.
Eventually I want to get Astarion into my team for his sneak attack and two cunning actions per turn.
Hope to set up my party to include my Sword Bard, Thief Astarion; Barbarian Karlach and Pact of Sword Wyll. There's probably capacity to switch out one of them for a spellcaster.
Can't really see any reason to have dual wield toggled on when you can choose to seperate the attacks if it's toggled off, or use the bonus action that it uses for something else.

By Lupercal Go To PostYes you can reclass your characters at camp after a few long rests.Cool, thanks!
I should probably be using Gale more as my spellcaster, but I just really like the make up of my current party.
So melee can attack twice, and with lae’zel I can actually attack four times once in a battle. Can’t cast more than once spell unless the spell is orange on the wheel as a caster tho?
It plays like divinity but changing from the AP system seems like kind of a nerf for spell casting?

As far as I'm aware D&D magic would be op if you could use a spell with every turn without thinking about resources, I do kinda miss the AP system sometimes though

I mean AP was a resource. You couldn’t just spam high level spells in a battle. Casting multiple spells meant like 1 high level spell and maybe another lower level one IIRC
I find limiting the amount of level 1,2,3 etc spells overall just means I go to camp more for the hilarious commentary. There’s enough supplies that camping often isn’t constrained

The best way to safely ignore Wyll but still get the benefits in combat is to do like yours truly and roll Warlock from the start. Synergizes with every party member and it's powerful on its own, close and long range.
Plus you don't feel bad taking your revenge on the world for the way they treat you. It's like a win-win-win.
